On a serious note, it's most likely has to do with how Christmas is perceived in Japan vs. the west. In Japan it's purely commercial funny holiday like Halloween that doesn't mean anything where people just eat fried chicken and Santa gives everybody presents, meanwhile in the west it's still a Christian religious holiday despite all the commerce surrounding it. Bringing religious topics in games is a no no so they just decided to cut it out and replace it with just some Winter holiday in general. Not a big deal to me, just silly, but I can see how lots of schizos will go over the board over it. Anyway, I have more things to care about than horse girls getting forbidden from celebrating Christmas or what not, and I doubt anybody besides those crusader larpers with anime profile pictures on twitter will even give a fuck.
