Dream thread Nameless Fairy 12/02/2020 (Wed) 00:18:45 No. 1262
Post your dreams here before you forget them. >fall asleep tipsy on red wine with my underwear uncomfortably digging into my buttcrack >"wake up" in the same room, next to a non-descript bug the size of a food platter >can't tell what color or how many leg it had, fairly sure it was all shifting all the time >also was telepath <"Hey dude, you got to transform !" <"Uh OK, will it be painless?" <"No" >get turned into a drider in a process only the most masochistic transformation fetishist would enjoy >I now got 8 spider legs, a spiderbutt with a stinger and nightvision >I can also cause house scale blackouts, turn invisible in the shade, and can walk on all surfaces making little to no sound >fast forward, I'm now haunting some huge mansion, creeping the inhabitants out of their minds >they call the ghostbusters >which lure me into a purposefully-left-dark room using their pet ghost >and suddenly turn on all lights to dazzle me >out of nowhere comes some sort of Scooby Gang look-alike who replaced their dog with AYA fucking SHAMEIMARU <panic >BLACKOUT >INVISIBILITY >everybody GTFO except the 10gu <she's going down >follows many attempts at wall-running, invisible, in-the-dark hit and run assaults >none of which work out because she and her stupid fan have some crazy speed and solid kun-fu >one critically failed surprise attack later and I'm fanned flying into a wall >lights turns back on, the fight is lost >Scooby-gang returns and spectate the interrogation >get asked a few question I can't remember, last one was <"Are you a toxico ? " <"Maybe, why do you ask?" <"I'm trying to determine your common point with the others." >no idea who she's talking about, I grab a random book on a nearby shelf and leave >the book's about flash programming, and I'm now in a huge, stadium high mall/warehouse >robocop Steve Jobs passes by and tells me <"Keep it up!" <wtf DREAM OVER
>>1579 Looks like your consciousness went into another world anon.
So, I tried out this Sleep as Android app and over the last week it helped me remember majority of my dreams. It's not vivid memories like the Orin or Kokoro ones, in fact I'd estimate them to be 10-20% of the total dream per night, but normally I don't remember anything at all, much less enough to make this estimate. https://m.apkpure.com/sleep-as-android-%F0%9F%92%A4-sleep-cycle-smart-alarm/com.urbandroid.sleep https://m.apkpure.com/sleep-as-android-unlock-%F0%9F%92%A4-sleep-cycle-smart-alarm/com.urbandroid.sleep.full.key
>>1644 I wonder about that. I'm having dreams like this more often. >I get a pistol in one room and then shoot the guy in the next >Afterwards everyone gets in a race across some forested mountain >Can't remember how the race ends >I'm back at the room with the pistol >Shoot the guy again, but this time I know to look on his arm pocket >There was a note in the box that had some answers, but not all of them
Had a dream within a dream. >second layer, I show up on a concrete platform between a house and its backyard >there's quite a few people I know >ask some "Heya ! What are we doing here ?" >"Don't you know ?" asks back someone on my left >I turn aside and see pic related >kinda stunned I throw her "What are YOU doing here ?" >she smirks, giggles, grabs me by the wrists and drags me aside, in an alley between the house's wall and a treeline >then jumps up at me, hugs my neck and smooches my lips >this kills the second dream layer >I wake up in the first layer, on a bed that isn't mine It's funny to be asked "Don't you know what you are doing here ?" as a dreamer. Feels like my dreams are going meta on me.

Had a dream few hours ago where I played some kind of multiplayer game with a friend. I think it was like an arena fighter game where there are multiple characters I can control and I can chain long combos by passing the enemy to other character. And there I was, dishing out long combos at my friend with characters I hardly remember (not everyone is from 2hu but I believe there were some), but I remember the last character I used was Saki, and she ended (or should I say failed) my combos because I think she was in narrow space and her kick somehow didn't reach. I can't remember the rest of the dream, shamefully.
I had my first hu dream last night, and it was about Satori. I really wish I actually remembered anything about what was said/mindread between us. I think I remember us somewhat getting along though.
>>2062 The feeling is probably the most important part anyway. Were you given some life-changing truth and then lost it, you'd feel overwhelmed by frustration and rant about it over at least 13 lines.
>>2063 Has anyone actually ended up getting a life-changing truth out of one of these threads like that?
>>2065 It's a kind of running joke, or myth, that you can get brilliant ideas or insight from your dreams but never remember them. Like those urban legend that kill you if you see them.
>>2066 Every night the ruler of dreams comes to you in your sleep and has the most intense, life-changing sex human soul can possibly withstand with you for as long as you're trapped in the dreamworld. You just never remember any of it when you wake up.
>>1262 I had a dream that I found a Touhou merch shop and the isles were either sorted by game or by item type (most Imperishable Night related merch was in it's own part, but same looking backpacks with different prints were just piled together). It ended with me seeing a scuffed yukkuri plush on top of a bookshelf. Then my cat woke me up.
>>2102 Why did the merch shop have entire islands in it?

When the dream starts, I'm in a void and I am falling down. I gradually become more and more aware as I am falling. As soon as I become fully aware in the dream, I hit a hard surface. Suddenly my surroundings change: I'm suddenly in a shopping district/market in some Asian city. I am moving forward at a high speed. I have zero control where I am going but I am fully aware and lucid (in the sense that I know it is a dream). There are a ton of people but no one is noticing me (In fact, I am also passing trough people and objects) I wake up soon after. Another time, I "I woke up" but instead of waking up regularly (in a dream), I was partially in kind of "etheric body": I saw myself on my bed in my room, but my awareness was in a copy of my body that was "etheric" (semi-transparent, like a spirit or ghost) and sticking out (and stuck) on my physical body. I tried to struggle to get fully out of my physical body but I quickly became exhausted. Then my vision started to fade and I just fell asleep. >>1285 Yes. Start keeping a dream journal. Pick a dedicated notebook for this and every time you have a dream write it down in your dream journal (even if it's short or uninteresting one!) Write the dream journal entry ASAP after you wake up (alternatively, you can use your phone's recorder app and write it down later) and use present tense and don't forget to write the date as well. During the day, you should also try to remind yourself to remember your dreams. In fact, you can also use similar method for inducing lucid dreams (also do so-called "reality checks": look at the clock if it's normal or is it going crazy, try if you can push a finger trough your hand, etc) Also, have a regular and normal sleep schedule. You also could taking a short (less than 1 hour) nap during the day. You could also setup alarm in the middle of night and going back to sleep: setup an alarm and sleep for 3-4 hours and get up and go back to bed after 10-15 minutes. Some people also say that regular meditation increases the amount of dreams they remember https://yewtu.be/watch?v=LL2XUTeoUsM (enable subs) I want to use this opportunity to also shill Carl Jung's writings (Especially the one titled "On Synchronicity" and everything related to Collective Unconsciousness.) You can also try to affect the content of your dream by thinking about getting a dream about XYZ (i think this can be used for practical purposes as well, if you have problem you are trying to solve or if you are trying to come up with something creative)
question for anons that have touhou related dreams or any other anime/manga related dreams. do the characters you encounter appear as animated like 3D rendered versions of 2D animation or do they look more flesh and blood like a cosplay?
I've never had a touhou dream before, I blame this thread >In garden of SDM >Following along a stream full of fish, the bottom is lined with rough stones of various minerals and metals >working sorting the stones, spreading them evenly etc. >throat hurts >remember I have a blood bag like pouch tied there with a hose in my neck to fill it >blood bag is filled with hundreds of tiny spiders, mine and Remilia's children >Night falls, Remilia comes out to see me >Make lovey-dovey small talk as a servant removes the blood bag, fucks up and I'm spraying blood everywhere >Get bandaged and cleaned while Remilia cradles the bag and talks to it >Hugging Remilia and patting the bag, can hear our children talking, some complaining about being taken away from my neck, tell them I'll feed them again later and not to cannibalize each other while I'm gone >Servant takes the bag to the nursery >Remilia notices my exhaustion from blood loss and asks if I want a servant to feed them, tell her no >Sexy time reward >As I cum I imagine thousands of swimmers fertilizing thousands of eggs >Wonder if there is enough room in the mansion for all of us as they get bigger Surprisingly, I wasn't creeped out at all during the dream, I was proud (and exhausted) caring for our children. Of course, when I woke up it was a little unsettling. She doesn't really have spider eggs r-right? Hehe. >>2124 The surrounding gardens and stream were realistic, but she was not exactly like rendered 3d, more like 2.5d? Like, the crispness of 2d art, but they aren't going to disappear if you walk beside them.
>>2124 The latter, kind of blurry though. >>2126 >I've never had a touhou dream before, I blame this thread You're welcome.
>>2126 >Like, the crispness of 2d art, but they aren't going to disappear if you walk beside them. The 2D render on a 3D object kind, or the mode 7 fake 3D kind?
>>2132 Like the Doom kind, where the sprite changes as you move around it, but less jank. Touching it feels like it should even though, visually, it should be like touching a 2d plane. Sort of a "Take On Me" effect, or something. Dream logic, man. It doesn't make sense but you don't question it at the time.
>>2124 3d with 2d features (normal sized eyes but bigger irises; real hair, but perfectly smooth with no stray hairs, too deep red colored to be natural, but preserving the texture unlike a solid blob of color that happens when irl people try to dye their hair bright colors; smooth skin; soft facial features, etc.) I think she was more real than anime looking. At least I definitely perceived her as a 3d girl, but it's hard to tell now. That also might have to do with how my ideal art-style archetype would be incredible amounts of detail and shading with lots of depth and more toned-down "lifelike" colors, so maybe that's what it looked like to me. What do you imagine when you try to think of anime art? Did what you see in your dream look like that? >>2126 Welcome to the club, also >hundreds of tiny spiders Sounds like someone hijacked your children. >>2133 >Dream logic The most important part is remembering what actually was a part of your dream and what you filled in when trying to remember it. Stuff like looks is especially highly volatile and changes unless you specifically keep your focus on it. Especially it's bad when you don't actually "see" some crucial details in your dream, but instead just "know" them and then it becomes impossible to reconstruct your dream without making stuff up and then you can't even tell if something actually was the way you recall it or if you just imagined that to build a coherent picture.
thanks to the anons that have replied to the question about the 2D/3D/IRL presentation of dreaming animated characters. have posed that question before in other threads, in other places, and have never gotten much in the way of replies. enjoyed reading the responses. i find this very interesting because i tend to have vivid dreams and am not a stranger to lucid or OBE states, but for whatever reason i can't recall ever interacting with characters in the first person. if i do dream about some piece of media that i'm immersed in, it's usually from the third person where i'm a disembodied witness. occasionally i might interact with aspects of a live action movie, but as far as anime or manga is concerned it's always been in the third person. it's fun getting to watch an improbable anime remix or manga come to life when i'm sleeping, but so far i've never had any interaction. i wish i could visit gensokyo. i'm hopeful that reading threads like this might prime such an experience. i've considered doing a deep immersion in touhou games to try and achieve this, since they can be trance inducing in their way, but bullet hell genre is torture to me and my familiarity with touhou is only from reading the manga and occasionally listening to the music.
Had a short lucid dream. When the dream begins, I'm in a office room. I am right next to a writing table that appears to be exactly the same as the one I have. "Wait! This is a dream, isn't it?" As soon as I realize that, I become lucid. I want to try something wacky as soon as possible, so I try to walk through the table. The table behaves like a gelatin jelly. I can't walk through it, but I kind of sink into it instead (imagine how a jelly would react if you pushed it lightly with a spoon). Unfortunately, it seems my brain can't cope with the idea of walking through a table, so I got a "black screen" (my vision went completely black) during the dream. I was still able to get back to the same exact dream by focusing on it, but I tried to move a bit too soon and I woke up instead. >>2109 I can't stress how important the dream diary is, if you want to remember your dreams. I used the wake back to bed method and daytime reality checks to get the lucid dream.

Man, i wish i can remember my dreams at all. I usually barely remember it and if i do, i'd just go straight to take a piss and forgot about it afterwards. I'll try this anon's advice and write about it tomorrow, although... >>1286 >sleep early Always do, and it's borderline napping for me >eat some cheese Alright >slightly uncomfortable clothing/cover(itchy, too light or too thick) OK i'll try an extra tight t-shirt >slightly uncomfortable places (sofa and/or no cushion) This doesn't work on me since i can literally sleep everywhere, even on a dirt road. >Alcohol I hate alcohol, so no. I doze off easy anyways. >Being slightly uncomfortable makes your sleep lighter and helps wake up faster, you have better chances to remember it all. That's kinda hard to judge on what's slightly and what's plain uncomfort. >>2109 >Dream diary If i just remember the black void part of the dream, does that count?
Dream diary is the most important part, and make sure to reread previous records or better yet rewrite them somewhere else from time to time.
(104.32 KB 607x680 1613575917017.jpg)

>>2637 >Always do, and it's borderline napping for me why don't you try to take a short nap (say, 30 mins to 1 hour) during the day? I have found out that I get more vivid dreams when I'm not too exhausted. >If i just remember the black void part of the dream, does that count? believe it or not, but yes! in fact, the dream diary has two purposes: first, you obviously use it to record your dreams (duh). second, you "program" or train your brain and subconscious mind to remember your dreams because by writing them down you signal your brain that the dreams are important. you can also try using affirmations just before falling asleep. simply, focus on the thought that you remember your dreams (literally think "I remember my dreams") and that you like keeping a dream diary and writing down your dreams. it's also worth keeping in mind that anything you focus on just before falling asleep will affect your dreams. so, try to avoid thinking about the last nightmare you had or about anything else that might be bothering you. on the other hand, you can try to get a specific setting for your dream by focusing on a mental image. if that's too hard, you can also just focus on the (verbal) topic. another thing that you can do is that you could try focusing on a problem that you are trying to solve to get your brain to process it during sleep. also, you could try using binaural beats. make sure to lower your volume before starting the video. increase the volume until you start hearing the binaural beats but make sure that the volume is relatively quiet so you don't get a headache. try listening to this just before going to bed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUpr0aSYu6A (if you get drowsy before the video is over, it's fine to shut down the computer and go to sleep) I know that binaural beats sound BS, but read about "brainwave entrainment" aka "brainwave synchronization". also, note that you should know that binaural beats and isochronic tones can cause you to go into a deeply relaxed or (semi)hypnotic state where you are more susceptible to suggestions (and self-affirmations). > https://infogalactic.com/info/Brainwave_entrainment > https://infogalactic.com/info/Binaural_beats > https://infogalactic.com/info/Isochronic_tones > https://infogalactic.com/info/Hemi-Sync > https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/stargate-collection-analysis-and-assessment-of-gateway-process-9-june-1983/ (CIA paper that was released. the paper also talks about Transcendental Meditation but I'm sure that any type of meditation will have similar effects) > A Practical Guide to Self-Hypnosis by Melvin Powers: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/22814 (anon posted about this on another board. I haven't read it yet.)
>>2644 >>2638 >why don't you try to take a short nap (say, 30 mins to 1 hour) during the day? I have found out that I get more vivid dreams when I'm not too exhausted. Ehhh guess i'll try, i haven't napped regularly ever since i left high school so i guess i'll give it a shot. >Dream diary is the most important part, I guess i'll write it down i suppose, since all i've been doing to induce dreams have all been conscious actions, and also to just filter my brain out since it's been hectic for a student like me. I'll look forward to what dreams i get while i sleep later on. >also, you could try using binaural beats. make sure to lower your volume before starting the video. increase the volume until you start hearing the binaural beats but make sure that the volume is relatively quiet so you don't get a headache. I can't hear anything actually, do i have to use headphones for this? i'm the type of guy who would leave podcasts running in the background while working and i live alone so i don't have any headphones. Also i'm not a huge fan of listening to music before sleeping but i'll cut both ways by listening to it just before sleeping. Oh wow, i didn't expect some rando 2hu thread to go into talking about the subconscious lmao.
Something that, kind of, works for me is to force my sleeping posture, to lay on my back, face upward. I often have some really vivid dreams doing that while I usually black out completly if I just make myself confortable. Drawback is, sleeping like that, I wake up at 4am .
>>2645 >do i have to use headphones for this? yup. binaural beats unfortunately won't work without headphones. but you could try listening to rain/water sounds instead: > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkLRith2wcc > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q76bMs-NwRk > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubNfkpbxXUs >>2646 >sleeping posture, good point. try different postures and see which works for you.

Had a dream, among one or two others I could barely remember, early this morning about trying to collect and hold onto various Fumos in bizarro world. I found, in a bizarro grocery store, the Nendroid versions, which dream me thought were fake and inferior despite my actual opinion of them more positive, of Cirno and Yuuka, who dream me kept confusing for Sanae as well as despite there being no Nendroid version of Yuuka. I don't know exactly how, whether they were secretly alive, theft, or by some bizarro magic, my Fumos kept disappearing and I was exasperatedly trying to get them back until I woke up. Strangely I never found nor was looking for the Fumo of best girl Patchouli. I liked the dream, despite it being a relative downer, since I rarely dream about real-life fiction despite my dreams being very fantastical.
>>2645 Alright here's my one month update of the whole shindig >Dreams now regularly appear and no longer a black void of nothingness >As said, it always correlate with things you did before going to sleep >All my dreams involve people for some reason >However i have still yet to remember more that just a mere fragment of the dreams Probably continuing this. Too bad i forgot to log in my dream diary since i was too busy playing New Vegas.
>starts with an epic swordfight against Tenshi >except not, I suddendly "wake up" in an unknown room mid-swing >find some people in a dining area and get an explanation >I got trashed near instantly by the celestial and fell into a coma, the whole fight was a "dream" >"This is the Scarlet mansion btw, we just work here. The lady brought you here and we took care of you." >fuck no >I leave immediately, the "mansion" is a larger house in one of those messy european small town >wandering the streets I find one of those children toy parks, full of colourful plastic and metal rides >something doesn't belong here >in corner of the field, a dull, small wooden cabin >as in, take a normal one and shrink it by half >maybe I'll find a clue about Tenshi's whereabouts, I want to pay her back for putting me into a coma >door's locked, I break into through the window, I barely fit through >inside, the place is full of random junk in boxes, covered in dust and webs >two items of note : a pouch full of shrunk coins, and a large "pen marker" labelled "laser red" >outside the cabin kids have gathered wondering what the weird grown-up was doing inside old cabin >time to leave with the loot I guess >hey Remilia is waiting outside among the other kids, had a cross attitude >"It was rude of you to leave without a word, what are you even doing here ?" >I offer the pouch full of mini-coins "I got a riddle for you !" >"Nevermind, I don't even care." She huffs, turns back and vanishes among and beyound the kids crowd I woke up before I could check whether that "pen" was a lightsaber, kinda salty about that.

One of two 2hu dreams I've ever had, remember some parts semi vividly >I am okuu in a modern setting >for some reason I want to drive a car >can barely fit wings in, very uncomfortable >finally get them in and close the door without catching wings, can't see out rear view mirror >drive fast down a highway and get the common dream effect of hitting brakes and car not stopping >rear end a cop and a chase ensues >eventually get to some parking lot and realize I can just fly >get out of car, fly up, and start blowing up buildings and cars with a death beam from my control rod >wake up after some wanton destruction
