Beach Update :
Did some fairly good back-blowing-out both last night and this morning, knocked the GF right out and she was unable to stay awake for even a paragraph of Dialogus . I had more cinnamon rolls foisted upon me in the morning as thanks while she contemplated making a late breakfast out of the leftover fried noodles I'd brought over the night before.
The sun was bright during the initial part of the day, but temperatures kept dropping off a cliff as the day progressed. Since I'm on the final few days before I can swap over to my outdoor gym routine, I wasn't about to stop the roll I was on. Pretty much everyone told me to give it a pass or gawped in disbelief that I would even try to swim today, but that didn't hold me back for even a moment.
Getting down to the beach in the early evening, everything looked majestic out. Big mountainous dark clouds framing a small window of sunlight over extremely calm waters. There was a bit of a cool breeze and even the dry sand felt Ivey as I undressed and strolled off into the depths. Good deal colder than yesterday, but I was so focused on being close to the end of my run that didn't give a fig. Swam far out and just stopped, looking around in all directions and various flocks of birds flew in tight formations against the of stark, straight beams of sunlight breaching the cloud cover. Everywhere I turned my head there was a different type of bird, most likely on there way to somewhere warmer, and I lost all sense of discomfort at the frigid waters until I was back on shore. The combo of wind, cold sand and general fatigue was absolutely brutal. Like my toes had been lopped off and my ween was an icicle. Genuinely felt like a stiff enough wind could make any moisture on me freeze. Managed to sprint up to higher ground before my body went into shock and my way back home directly to a hot cup of coffee with chocolate. I don't think I really got back to proper room temps for a good hour or so.
