Playing a game is the antithesis of passive role, you should take action in some way or another, otherwise there's no gameplay happening, thus no game. For example, how would you transcript "being babyified against your will" in a gameplay perspective, where you, the player, still have a role to take part on? It's really not an easy task. But it doesn't mean it's impossible.

You just need to make it so the player is taking two steps back (into being a big bab) for every one step forward toward trying to escape or be more mature. Beyond stuff like that, you have stuff like incontinence that everyone wants anyway, so rather than making it a process I honestly think it should be a fairly quick thing that helps keep you stuck as a bab. You need more diaps, constantly are embarrassing yourself, yadda yadda. It keeps you tied to your caregiver(s) and dependent. Then, like what I said with taking two steps back, have mechanics like hypnosis, mittens, etc. (again, all really common stuff in the fetish) that are hard to escape and massively gimp you. Now even fairly simple tasks become a kind of puzzle and require you to try to bypass them, or I guess you can just grind your wet pamps irl and enjoy the ride, lol. Honestly someone should try that, making something of an adventure game in a diaper-dimension sorta setting where you're constantly either progressing from one setting or home to the next, and then get motivated to escape by an especially bad end or just getting a lucky break. No bothering with fairly pointless gameplay mechanics or walking back and forth around a huge map, just have lots of lewd setpieces and the player will keep "progressing" a bit more with their situation getting harder and harder to progress through as you get more and more babified. The player's action is what keeps babifying them more (except when it's preventing bad endings), like where not escaping for long enough just settles you at a certain level of bab-ness or a certain cycle of settings, and while you can leave sooner and maintain a bit more maturity, one way or another it'll constantly be decreasing. The first thing to go's bladder continence, of course, but by the end you'd be trying to figure out how you'll escape with tons of restrictions or get your caregiver to further babify you somehow and thus cause a change in routine. No idea when you'd end it though -- maybe just when you either find a loving caregiver who isn't too bad, or escape for good... only to get an ending like what DD did where the diaps and hypno come over to "our" world.

Two, as a really sweet added bonus, this lets the player avoid things they really, really don't want to deal with, hypnosis for example is very divisive. Simple. Pick the mittens or the sprinkler.

He's gone on wild trips with big maps, and so much unused bits in his game, but there's a part where you're kinda stuck in a loop after being kidnapped by the scientist. if that crew tightens up that arc a bit so the mechanics feel more like a whirlpool where there's only one way to escape, and there are consequences to being caught/loosing to the boss that result in 2-3 cycles of being super-oppressed until the antagonists let down their guard once more, it would be good. Really interested in seeing where the Hive goes in that way, and whether there will be a feeling of a whirlpool as well. I'm confident that if there's someone who can knock it out of the park, it's PieceOfSoap.
So I've been playing some other fetish games, and a few things are clear, 1 there is too much rpg maker, and way too many of them are being used as rpgs, grinding isn't fun, don't make me grind for the release. there's also a lote of visual novels and I think that's for a similar reason as to the rpg maker games, it's acessable, you don't really need to learn how to code to make one, you just need some good assets. What I think is the crux of what is fun for most of these games, including abdl is picture getting progressively more fetish, this works in multipule differnt facits, I've sene a clicker game where every think you upgrade goes though five pictures of them losing material, I've seen an rpg maker game where there were various pictures of someone being more and more pregnant, and a visual novel game where people get more and more bimbo, none of them would be fun as games themselves, but that picture changing thing that's the shit, I also tried a framing game where they suggested some transformations, though mostly it stayed the same, and that kept me going more than I thought possible So really it's just, picture sequences as rewards, is your meta loop for sccess, just need to make a game that's fun to play to tack onto it.

The Japanese scene has a better grip on the engine usually, but even games like LI's Blackheart/Empire are the shining examples, and you can see some experimentation with the old 4th Space demos, Perpetual Change, Barkston, as well as a bunch of early projects that were all trying ~something~ different. With Japanese stuff you've got the island/rural survival games, omogatari, mojique, and the VNs tend to be actual quality. I've seen some nuts stuff like first person games too (though at that point they probably should just use another engine). We are in a bit of a content drought, but I don't think that's just because of the engines people are using. Good fucking luck. If they have zero investment in AB/DL why would they work for free on making it really look like the diaper girl pooped herself. I do know the LU guy has other people working under/with him on the game. I have no idea who those people are, but my guess is they're people also into AB/DL or into a fetish just as, or more degenerate than ours. My guess is he pays them, but fuck if I know. I enjoy the animations for when I character has an "accident" and I enjoy the NPCs making comments about the player.

Even if a vet who specificlay could optimize for 3d wanted to do stuff you need to make a bunch of modles because most stock diaper modles aren't meant for an abdl game, and the 1 diaper modle most people use for renders looks terrible. I've spent a year trying to make 1 modle that looks decent, and I haven't even gotten to the diaper yet... well I have but it also looks like shit currenlty so it has to be redone, don't expect 3d it's too much for a community that can't even make a good 2d game.

A while ago I played an RPGmaker feminization game called Crossdressing in Camelot. Its schtick was that your magic strength was influenced by a "femininity" stat, so the girlier you were, the stronger you were in combat. But on top of that you could be dominant and win fights or be submissive and watch humiliating loss cutscenes. I'd want an ABDL game like that, where interacting with the fetish gave you an advantage. Something like bigger diapers providing the best armor, being able to use the mess in your diaper as fuel for magic, or being one with your baby side unlocking magic to regress others.

Keep in mind that most abdl games are small team or single person affairs, no one has the time to make 7 3d abdl games from scratch to get good at optimizing for a market that proably won't pay for the product. Currently there's a bottle neck on asset creation because no artists are comming together to make asets for games like this, so expecting the much harder to make assets is just kneecapping the process of making more stuff.

I don’t think it’s too much bothering,except of course for ABDL stuff but in this way you limit the number of assets needing to be created. I think there’s also some form of img to 3D model AI that start to bloom. This could be game changer once it be as mature as stable diffusion and can really help game makers.

Had another idea, an RPG game where the protagonist has a Mommy companion. Becoming more babyish increases your HP and defensive stats, but you do no damage. Instead, all of your actions draw aggro and you have to rely on your Mommy for DPS while the enemies are distracted trying to baby and humiliate you. The Mommy obviously babies you as well, she's the one who changes you when your diaper is full, she tries to push you towards regressing, and she might even join the monsters in dominating you if she's turned on enough.

Since we're in the middle of such a dry spell, I guess I could plug a few games with ABDL/diapers in them that I've found recently: Ero Witches is an RPG where each level focuses on a different fetish. There's also a baby girl mode where the MC has a mommy and has to wear diapers. Honestly a pretty fappable game for me. Silverfang Respite. You capture and tame monster by spanking or diapering them for fun adn profit. Kind of a long game that takes awhile to get into more ABDL stuff, but otherwise pretty good.
