This was fun. It made me miss 8chan. I can't believe it has been 3 years now. We should do things like this more often. Maybe not once a month, but one every two months, perhaps three. It's nice having a place where all sorts of anons can convene and have camaraderie. While our numbers may not have been high, and the games thread may have been a bust, I think those are only because this is the first of this kind of meeting. I'm looking forward to next time, whenever that may be.

>>1980 I uhh.... you know how it goes. I would like to stream more but I ran out of playlist and no way to end it. The stream went downhill when I was done with the little I prepared anyway. w Also the setup was torture. Wished I could use my effects and things.
>>1979 Right now, we watching some Gaki no Tsukai.
>>1983 >It made me miss 8chan I miss it too anon, it was both a more hopeful part of my life and also just a great time in general. I'd love if we could have a sort of quarterly get together. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter themed hangouts could be really fun.
>>1994 >I'd love if we could have a sort of quarterly get together. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter themed hangouts could be really fun. I'm in. I'd recommend something hosted by Anon.cafe again, if they're willing to.
>>2006 It's over 2'000!!! :^)
>>2006 I think the spring summer fall winter get togethers is a good idea! Or maybe just summer and winter. If it's once a month, I don't think many people would show up, at least not until there's a lot of people to warrant more often get togethers.

>>1983 >>1994 >>2006 >>2134 I might be up for doing this again next Christmas, but I don't currently have any plans for a quarterly or even bi-annual event. These sort of things are fun the day of but a fairly large mental drain leading up to them since you have to toss the nets out and fish anons in rather than hoping they'll come, and you need pretty constant surveillance to prevent shitstorms that cause parties to never come back. While more mods would help, the moderation mindset needed for a one-day event is a little different than the moderation mindset needed for a regular board since you're more like embassy marines at an important diplomatic event with factions that don't like each other. The goal is not to let anyone cause an international incident and start a war rather than to incarcerate or punish most troublemakers.
Anyways I need to go check out what happened elsewhere last night since it looks like there were a few fistfights.
>>1994 >>2134 Exhaustion would set in were it too frequent. I think having a notable holiday to tie it into - Christmas - is a strong motivator. Twice a year, and tie it into another event that you can borrow the symbolism and motive from. That makes a summer event a little tricky. >>2144 This too. It's stressful on organizers, and this was only successful because of all that work put in.
I only got to listen for a couple of hours but last night was really nice. I do hope you do it again next year.
>>2146 Good Point. I think twice-yearly wouldn't be too often, and hopefully would give the organizers plenty of time to rest. So the Christmas event is a settled-deal, I'd say. As for Summer, well it's a very common tradition (probably in almost all countries) to have some kind of big Summer Festival blowout. The organizers can just pick a date and we'll go with that. I'd recommend June 21, the solstice as being both completely universal & neutral.
>>2144 Well, you did a great job with it I may say BO. Much better than I could have and dare I say most of us here could. Look forward to the next one it was some great music and fun times were had by all. My only bit of advice would be to start the promotionals at least one month--maybe two--ahead of time. Thanks!
>>2173 >Well, you did a great job with it I may say BO. While normally I'll take credit, I honestly didn't do that much this year. I only played about a third of the playlists because of other anons helping out, and a lot of the wildcard boards this year were anons responding to me mentioning I had been really sick. Even the after-party DJ was due to other anons asking him to stream. All I really did was mention the event was happening, stream some Mannheim Steamroller for the Euros, and keep shitposts (somewhat) contained to the thunderdome w. >My only bit of advice would be to start the promotionals at least one month--maybe two--ahead of time. Originally that was the plan and I'll aim to do that if I do it again next year. I don't like giving guarantees since you never know what might happen and I could be driving a truck or in the military for all I know given the state of the economy. Polite sage.
>>2174 >Mannheim Steamroller Well, I certainly enjoyed both that and the old Frank Sinatra music (most of which I'd never even known about). Having a shitpost-containment thread is a great idea and it's one I use on our board too. I'll forcefully relocate conversations there if the belligerents won't take a polite hint or two. >While normally I'll take credit Heh. While I'm sure it's nice to have on your e-peen resume, at this point my main position is that's it's a very, very good thing to allow the webring communities to come together as a single group again. We certainly need that sense after all the abuse the globalist kikes and their goons have shat out on us all. Regardless, good job Anon. >WouldPartyAgain/10
>>2172 >I'd recommend June 21, the solstice as being both completely universal & neutral. >start of summer Just call it the Webring Summer Kickoff Blowout or something similar?

Thanks for the good times. It felt like everything was centralized on the r/a/dio threads but it was still nice to have the banter between different boards again. fuck /cow/, fuck tvch, fuck mark Merry Christmas and I hope to see you again next week. Speaking of, I don't know if r/a/dio is happening again tonight but /r/ing this pre-emptively.

>>2185 >mp4 Kek, that was fun to watch. Garfield is a cool cat! There should be a Garfield night or something Anon.
