Ishmael is weird. I can't tell if they messed up something in game with the skill descriptions or people talk about some future update. Or someone misinterpreted something and people rolled with it. Whoever you pair her with between an amplifier or tank she copies the element and turns into the opposite of the amp/tank. She doesn't deal damage of the element that she copies, instead she applies buffs or debuffs associated with said element. People say that she shreds or amplifies on par with the latest meta character for the element she's associated with. So they imply by pairing with Ayla, Ishmael shreds on par with Wanshi. But according to in game information that's not the case. All her shreds are at 15% base value. 10% more from weapon. Does this mean she shreds more than Karenina if you QTE her on dark with her weapon? Or is the skill description wrong? As for Nihil I tested and her damage is the same no matter if you pair her with Selena or Ayla. Therefore, I don't understand why so many people say to use Ayla specifically. Seems to me all you have to do is get the best amplifier you can afford and Luna. So for many newbies Lilith is the best partner.

There's no mention of weapon or evolution ranks. She's great especially for a new player as she incredibly good to fill any gaps, but she's not as good as the intended specific meta characters. The biggest downsides seem to be Einsteina only applying for Nihil in her case, and you cannot switch her in, only use her as a buffer/debuffer. And since she deals Nihil damage her QTE damage won't be as good as a dedicated amplifier or tank. She's good as a filler in case you lack someone in that job for that element.

Also as anon says in the archive you linked, if you use a Luna/Ishmael/Lillith team, the game looks at Lillith and activates Ishmael's dark tank abilities which is worse than other elements at SS3 and especially SSS. If you have SS0 then I suppose the misunderstanding comes from CN whales giving advice while forgetting it doesn't apply without sig weapon or SS3 (which I sometimes do too). Then anons or youtubers parrot it as if it's advice that applies universally. As for the choice of Ayla vs other amps I think it's just minmax bullshit but you should avoid Selena because she has to waste 4 memory slots for her sig memory.

People who evolve their characters on average beyond SS or whales seem to give advice from that point of view. I knew on evolutions, where dark compared to others falls off lacking 20% shred and the switch cooldown perk doesn't exist...at SSS. Otherwise the element doesn't matter as the shred at SS or below is 15% default and +10% if you have her weapon. Since I kept seeing the same information as if it's a default universal thing, I thought that maybe Global messed up something and CN had something else on their server. Which kept me on this confusing loop till now.

SS 5* weapon Ishmael with CUB. S0 Luna and S0 Ayla filler since I lack Lilith. Score on the bottom before CUB. Latest score with it equipped. Maximized the skill for the Atk up buff. This is in Hero Squad. Luna has Einsteina. I assume over 2mil is doable with the perfect resonances and a better Luna for the few swaps that I do. Still don't get why Qu's CUB is A tier when the effect and impact it has is very similar to Ishmael's. So far based on my own experience, Wanshi's Qu's and Ishmael's are felt a lot. Hanying's not as strong as the other 3, but the Rigidity infliction is an optional convenience to create openings without having to worry about dodging for 2 seconds.

If you're aiming for a specific character, remember that it's more optimal to buy 2 Fine Gift Boxes rather than the Precious Gift Box, the reason being that fine gifts are all worth 20 points of affection so you get 40, while Precious Gifts gives you 30, or 60 if it's their favorite gift, and the likelihood of landing on the favorite one you want is extremely low. If you're just trying to get everyone up then I guess Precious Gifts could be more viable.

Dante is quite OP if you invest in him even to SSS along his weapon and CUB, he can shave life bars while having more I-frames that Lucia and you can still have like 99% damage reduction when his weapon bar is full and being able to spam SDT twice before switch to Vergil to replenish motivation (lay down the damage until Dante's cooldown is done)
