Honey Badger Radio vs. Calgary Expo and the Mary Sue Lawsuit Update Leader 11/30/2015 (Mon) 04:16:54 Id: 125fa1 No. 303944
https://twitter.com/HoneyBadgerBite/status/671160672210694144 http://honeybadgerbrigade.com/2015/11/30/legal-suit-update-2/ >Previously, we posted an update explaining that we had served notice of legal action to Calgary Comics and Entertainment Expo and to The Mary Sue. >A few weeks ago, we received an interesting response regarding Calgary Comics and Entertainment Expo. It consisted of the claim that we had contacted the wrong person, followed by the argument that if the entity we contacted were the entity responsible for the Calgary Comics and Entertainment Expo, the Expo staff’s actions were valid.
>>303944 Good to see the Honey badgers still soldiering on after all this time

>>303955 >pulling an OJ
>>303997 Those who listen to the HoneyBadger Radio know they're still slogging on, but doing stuff with the law the right way takes months and is a pain-in-the-ass.

>>303944 Hope they clean out those assholes, and the fucking Mary Sue too.
https://twitter.com/Supperdude9/status/671161525210583040 Damn it Cirno, it's "Look at the kitchen" in old German! Calgary Expo knows that they're royally fucked. Now they've dug themselves even further with this shenanigan
>>304019 It'll be worth it if they're successful.
>we're totally gonna beat those evil wimmenz in moon court, honest!

>>304047 Nothing bribing a shitty judge can't solve!
well you should expect some fuck ups when you hire a disbarred lawyer to represent you….

>>304069 >moon court Meet the judge, jury and executioner.
(14.70 KB 489x587 10buckswellspent.jpg)

>>303955 Nigga, that shit's boilerplate. If they don't say something regarding both contingencies, they won't be able to enter any evidence or argument if the judge decides they are responsible. There's being sure you're not responsible, and betting tens of thousands a judge won't find you responsible. The badgers explained this a bit more on one of their podcasts, fuck if I remember which one.
>>304495 Instead of recess we get a great taste- DINNER!
>>304385 1) He isn't representing them. He legally can't. He merely advises them, which is legal. 2) Disbarment in Canada is for the most benign shit, but it only prohibits a person from acting in a power-of-attorney representative capacity. Disbarment in America is, despite over a million lawyers, rare, requires a serious fuck up, and defacto bans you from contributing to the work product of anything in the legal profession. I mean fuck, even Jack Thomson had to be systematically disbarred on a state by state basis until he was disbarred in his homestate, which was the basis of his license to practice law in most other states. He sent fucking porn to a Texas Judge and even after that sanction *still* was able to practice law in other states. This on the otherhand, the lawyer who was disbarred in Canada, was for a mere accounting recalibration error from improperly marked hours that is rampant in the US and at most gets you a sanction here that waives any financial liability of the relevant client. There was even a dissent when his review for appeal was denied (arguably the only instance in modern Canadian history) which basically argued the other judges only approved of the harsh penalty because they politically disagreed with his activist efforts.
>>303944 The response from Calgary expo is essentially a legally robust way of saying: "the contract wasn't with us, but even if it was you would still be in breach of it." I don't know why HBB shared this. It reflects badly on them and makes me wonder about the competence of their legal council and how wisely they are spending the money they received. Lots of armchair lawyers on this board and KiA trying to read way too far into the situation.
>>305276 They're making it public because they're funded by internet randos who deserve to see where their money's going.
>>305410 Those suckers get to watch their money go down the drain, I guess. What a joke.

>>307506 Did the spambots mate with the ghazi nazis to produce such significantly gay offspring as you?
(199.46 KB 1200x983 1406295292576.jpg)

>>307506 My Aryan ancestors are not agreeing with your last statement.
>>304523 but how can you claim to have no connection to the event, then claim to know that the defendant violated the terms of the contract? if you arent connected you would in no way know the details of the contract
>>305276 Yeah like right now the Comic Explo is making a pretty standard play. 1) By denying they made a contract with Aniston Teman, theyou are forcing the Honey Badgers to clarify whathe entity signed the contract. As currently Allison signed it, but it was basically shared between a comic artist and the badgers, skewing the legality. 2) Their legal advisor should be screaming the fuck out of them to stop posting stuff like this and explaining that this is a pretty standard legal play in Canada. 3) Most of the rest of this thing is saying "we are denying this and are asking for proof, you got proof right?" There really is nothing remarkable about this.
>>307595 HBB are posting updates so that their supporters can keep abreast of developments. You know. Transparency? That whole thing that this is all about? That.
>>307597 Well I thought it was about free speech and expression. Not to mention between damaging the case and winning, I think most supporters would choose winning and just view all the public ally available court transcripts after all is said and done.
(71.41 KB 500x322 index.jpg)

>>307599 It's about… >Transparency in the dealings between publishers, developers, and the media. >Free speech and free expression in all media, not just gaming. A stance of "If it offends you, you are not the target audience". >Fighting against tokenism of marginalized groups purely to gain brownie points, and the whitewashing of foreign media. >Consumer rights not being brazenly ignored just because we're buying a certain string of zeroes and ones.
>>307685 This nigga right here. Problem is, faggot, the rabbit hole got too deep over the last 30 years. GG unfortunately uncovered a weird analogue of HYDRA in western society, governance, academia, media, and industry. The cultural authoritarian rabbit hole goes deep, and it all has one single origin. Money and power. Fucking weird.
Not notable enough to merit a new thread, there's been an update in the Calgary Expo expulsion of Honey Badger Radio and banning for life of Alison Tieman. She appears in the video from the start until 9:20 tl;dw: On June 2, 2016, Alison Tieman attended a pretrial conference with the Corporation responsible for organizing and operating the Calgary Expo and The Mary Sue. The trial date is currently set for January 13, 2017. The charges are breach of contract and injurious falsehood Ms. Tieman must also file an amended complaint naming the correct corporate entity (for Calgary Expo) by July 15, 2016 end tl;dw I want to say that the correct corporation is "Alberta Expos & Events, Inc." but I cannot confirm. There is also mention of publicly available defense documents for The Mary Sue and Calgary Expo, but I don't know where to find them
>>324693 >The trial date is currently set for January 13, 2017. The charges are breach of contract and injurious falsehood >January 13, 2017 >21 months after the fact So even if the Badgers win, they'd have to suffer through almost two YEARS of slander.
>>324695 Not as bad as Gregory Allan Elliot, at least.
>>324693 >Ms. Tieman must also file an amended complaint naming the correct corporate entity (for Calgary Expo) by July 15, 2016 I was about to freak out about how CalEx's big strategy is to play keep-away with who to take to court, but I had the video playing in the background and she actually said "As a result of the pre-trial we finally have the correct corporate entity for the Calgary Expo." as I was typing it. So I'm glad that's been solved. >January 13th, 2016 Friday the 13th confirmed. Also, that will be a great new year. Whether or not they win.
>>324715 Give it a rest, Greg.
I listen to most Honey Badger Radio episodes and give them patreonbux every month. I'm proud to fight against an evil religion like feminism.
