Like you make a deal with a devil for power and then it later decides to rescind those powers, it will probably find that it can't. It's more about getting more powers than effecting ones you already have. So realistically no. With that said, one of the lines I put into the AS perk was that it could be leveled up somewhat and that the simple 'obey my commands' aspect was merely the level one AS. So keep using spell extender and it will eventually get larger/longer as you get better at using it.
