Lemme play a song for you guys.
>>178 good shit, but that guy is eating the mic! Guessing this must be indie or something like that.
How many of you guys keep a music collection locally? I know music streaming is the popular thing nowadays, but I like to keep my favorites on my computer to listen to whenever I want, and also to organize them better than the streaming services do.
>>237 Oh I keep it all saved and backed up. Never use streaming. I travel too much and internet is spotty. Plus if shit hits the fan I will have all my music still.
>>237 I used to. At some point I was just too busy with work to keep it up though. Managing a local music collection is a lot more work, and finding a good download for a song is like 50x the effort of finding it on Spotify or something. That became especially relevant when I started playing music for coworkers on a regular basis, it needed to be quick and easy to find whatever someone else likes so I needed a streaming service for that, and it was convenient to keep all my music in one place. So I ended up just shifting more and more to Spotify and giving up on the local collection. It has a lot of drawbacks, but it saves tons of time when your time is limited, and at least I have access to my library without internet. Of course I still have a small collection of stuff that isn't on Spotify. I actually have more free time now than I have for the past few years, though. I might get back to a completely local collection at some point.
