>>7309 Oh those look pretty good, nicely done

No idea how people do good work with zero pressure sensitivity but I've seen it
practiced today

>hiatus again >try to get back in, but screw up drawing things properly and stuff >go look at artists on Twitch for inspiration/guide >see some vtuber chick drawing cute things >decide to yolo a head with quick ball construction, sketch and linework >result I wonder if I should just drop trying to draw anything remotely realistic like anime, maybe I just don't have dexterity for that. Not sure how I would make it work with edgy stuff, but eh, at least I would start drawing again.
today's batch
>>7324 >>7324 Decent linework anon, you don't seem lacking in dexterity at all
>>7326 That's different guy, I'm above him.
>>7326 thanks, I'm still trying to develop the style i want down, but some days I have it in me, other days i'm just trudging along. just gotta give it time i suppose
>>7328 Oh, in that case start putting in some hours with the Peter Han exercises and consider getting a large tablet to help minimize the disconnect between drawing and the screen. You will make big improvements in this area by doing that, though you are certainly not the most uncoordinated I've seen. You're on a good trajectory
Creature based on a friend's awkward pants configuration
>>7358 I don't know why I posted this in the practice thread

Figure study. Fuck's sake I feel like shit.
>>7387 Very nice practice work, I admire your attention to shading. Gotta get back to doing more figures myself, I always just do a page or two of gestures and call it a day without actually rendering out a full figure like that.
>>7387 Nice work Josh. Try to draw lightly and build up darker values in layers/repeat strokes rather than by pressing down harder, that's how you avoid scratching the paper and getting that sheen off of the graphite Lot of great charcoal/graphite guides early in the ImagineFX screencap thread: >>156

>>7399 Also, I presume you're using a number 2 pencil which you can often get good results from if they're of a high quality (the waxy, shitty ones from Amazon Basics or whatever are NOT, I bet there are reviews out there for which ones handle the best though). It might not be a bad idea to look into getting a set of actual drawing pencils. "blick.com"'s house brand are actually quite good and affordable. https://www.dickblick.com/products/blick-studio-drawing-pencils/

Wardrobe study. Give it a try, fellas

good day anons, how should i improve? should i just draw more people a couple hundred times? please don't say >draw 6000000 boxes to learn perspective i did it once for 3 months and it made me quit for years
>>7413 You're on the right track by working on your observational drawing. Reinforce those informal visual measurement techniques. Employ imagined plum lines, negative/positive space, trapped shapes and utilize any other spatial relationships you can to resolve your drawing into an accurate copy. That's the first step

>>7417 Thanks for the advice, here's what I've done today. I really like how the insects looks, they're obviously far simpler than humans or animals so I can do them fairly decently. If anyone has any remarks or advice I'd really appreciate it. these took me around 5/6 hours hours
(603.72 KB 2000x2000 Untitled-1sS.png)

>>7419 today i sort of lost patience and started drawing as fast as i could, and it kinda worked for some. the earlier ones up the top look very stiff compared to the ones at the bottom
>>7425 Yeah, gesture drawings really help you to focus on the line of action and dynamic motion of poses. It's also pretty fun doing a page of 30/60 seconds gestures and then seeing everything you managed to get done with in just like 10 minutes worth of time.

Some character sketches from the past... whatever. Month? I really need to practice drawing them doing more interesting things... kinda overworked the picture of Milchi (tiger girl) a little bit.
>>7459 Not too bad, might want to try and experiment with more dynamic poses and angles though, certainly
(529.71 KB 1219x1412 IchniGuroMan.png)

Did this pose from memory
(1.94 MB 2290x1709 IMASPRHERO.png)

(157.39 KB 622x785 it490234.png)

Tried some more poses among other things
>>7470 What are these characters called? Reminds me of a Sentai series
A sketch I've been cooking for three days now and I am getting ready to fucking kill myself. Does this even look non-shitty enough to be worth continuing or did I fuck over another drawing.
This was supposed to be a light character study, but turned better than I expected. A shame about the pincers and stomper.

>>7515 Lineart looks as good as it's ever going to, I suppose. I'll get around to coloring it eventually.
>>7543 >>7515 I somehow forgot to comment on this, I think I wrote something up and then closed the tab and completely forgot about it. Anyway, I think you've done quite well here. This is a challenging perspective/foreshortening problem and I believe you've done well keeping it comprehensible.
>>7514 First image are some characters I drew off the top of my head and the second is just Iron Fist from Marvel
