4chan is back up
>>12697 Yeah already a thing to try and kill cripplechan moves
>>12693 That page has been there, unchanged, since 2014 when a janny leaked everything so hard that m00t started requiring actual IDs be provided to site admins.

So, like, what are the odds 4chan staff could do 10 years of maintenance in 10 days? With the hacks, staff abandoning ship, etc, etc? Because I know if it was an Uncle Sam run site, the time table makes sense since they can just cram as much manpower and resource into the problem hole as they need. Everything else sounded like it'd take months.
>>12783 From what I hear they didn't change much at all and just disabled pdf uploads while filling the empty mod seats with pajeets.
>>12802 That'll end well.
>>12806 It will. Notice how performance is so much better tonight? Because people dumped 8chan the MOMENT they didn’t have to deal with the performance issue anymore. 4chan thrived for years under the worst dystopian conditions because the site maintained a consistent level of decent user experience. 8chan has a window of opportunity to became the next main chan of the internet and blew it, that’s all.
Kind of jarring to see all the posts over there saying how much they missed 4chan when it was only down for ten days. They do not understand true suffering.
>>12819 What confuses me most is the Stockholm syndrome going on to make these idiots actually enjoy posting on that raw dogshit website with its overzealous moderation. If it's any consolation, these posters who think that way are probably too stupid to be capable of any kind of quality standards that 8chan posting requires. So maybe it's for the best. You can expect 4chan to go down again since, you know, it's still on an outdated API and the source code was leaked. They could not patch every hole in a matter of 10 days.
>>12816 What user experience has 4chan actually added in the last 10 years besides webm/mp4? Multiple file posting and 50MB upload limit already blow 4chan out of the water. While I am using 6 userscripts to the 1 4chanX script, they're pretty much on par for what I need. In the end, all 4chan has is PPH and that never meant anything as most of it was just people shitposting in circles.
>>12826 Nobody cares about that. What they care about is having a fast and smooth user experience. Massive lag and slow loading attachments is DEATH to an image board. 4chan maintained a smooth and quick user experience and so they survived. If 8chan had simply upped the bandwidth last week when the user traffic rushed in then most of them would have stayed. They dumped the site INSTANTLY to go back to 4chan, that’s reality, and I’m explaining reality to you.
>>12826 >What user experience has 4chan actually added in the last 10 years besides webm/mp4 (You)s
>>12699 >>12711 They actually removed that block recently because I have been trying to raise awareness about that whole era for years and recently I got a post through, so this means they added it again. Possibly to prevent bleeding out users.
>>12693 >$20 4chan pass (gay and probably has aids) vs >greatest luls for a week
(16.61 KB 957x182 8 dot chan.png)

>>12697 Talking about 8chan is a bannable offence, but only if it's talked about positively, otherwise it's kosher boards.4chan.org/v/thread/708301480
>>12820 >. If it's any consolation, these posters who think that way are probably too stupid to be capable of any kind of quality standards that 8chan posting requires. Ahahahahahahaha. lmfaoooooo. QUALITY? ON THIS SHITHOLE? All chans are the same my nigga, retard infested shitholes. Don't try to make yourself feel good cus you got through Tor.
>>12877 You're being too dramatic.
The fact that posts per hour has dropped by half in just 1 day of 4chan being back up is disgusting and deeply upsetting. I don't have any faith in humanity left, nobody can see the bigger picture anymore and they just let themselves get systematically abused as the slaves they are. Any real oldfag worth their salt would absolutely hate what modern 4chan has become and I left before during the first exodus and stayed here up until glowies took it down. I will not be going back again.
>>12946 I went back to 4chan after OG 8chan was kill, hoped for a kind of renaissance but it is hopeless. /pol/ has had it's best users transplanted to instagram and X and the board has turned into a dump for niggerdick mossad spam, total garbage. Basically only the small hobby boards are usable and not just a constant stream of the lowest effort bait possible.
>>12951 Yeah, I myself only really stick around 4chan for hobby stuff and all the altchans were really lacking in /tg/ department even when 4chan was kill. This site's /v/ is great, worth sticking around for, but otherwise it's just disappointing how people are willing to return to jannies who openly hate you and actively ruin board quality on purpose. Plus the jannies there are extra vindictive now.

>>12952 I'm staying and there is a faction of other anons who decided they like alt-chans more. Being forced into 4chan detox, I think I prefer these chans more. Slow and steady, 8chan, kissu, wapchan, and Hikari3 all have some anons who had decided to stay.
>>12697 Just call it 8moe instead and jannies dont seem to give a shit
(31.68 KB 257x212 coolguy.jpg)

>>12697 it has been like that since 2014, anon
>>12816 I'm a refugee but I'm staying here even though halfchan is back. The fact that it didn't become the extremely main chan is a plus for me. The discussion here are so much better than on halfchan. The only thing I truly miss is /wsg/ but that's it
>>12816 >Because people dumped 8chan the MOMENT they didn’t have to deal with the performance issue anymore Of course performance issues are annoying, but people don't chose software primarily based on performance. People use the slowest shittiest software to access the content they want. Content is king, always. >What they care about is having a fast and smooth user experience No, user experience is secondary to the content Example in this thread: >>13029 >only thing I truly miss is /wsg/ Gaming examples: Bloodborne, Oblivion, Skyrim, DayZ

>>12693 kek i think the vulnerability is more valuable than 1 year cost of 4chan pass
>>12946 Something important to note is WHICH boards had a steep drop. The ones that just served as bunkers for brainrotted anons who NEED their pph dropped more severely than more focused communities who just want actual discussion. Extra big keks for /vg/ which is of course just avatarfag and dramatranny central just dropping off a cliff.
>>13119 Shame on /vg/. What a bunch of cucks.
Cuckchan is worse than ever, trying to post with the impossible-to-generate captchas feels like torture. >>12697 Yes, so is mentioning sites like Kiwifarms, but the Sharty and other altchans are oddly okay so long as you don't praise them. All mentions of 8chan are a death sentence now, though. >>13119 The generals I post in were on /v/ here and still maintained their activity, thankfully.
>>13124 to be fair well over half of 4/vg/'s traffic was corralled into /gacha/ instead which retained most of its users, of those AFAIK the ones who went back to 4cuck were hoyotard and hoyotard adjacent generals.
>>13177 >gacha retained its users Only because they have been tirelessly working to ruin threads on /vg/ in an attempt to not bleed users
>>13029 We have a >>>/wsg/, anon, be the change you want to see in the world, take charge of it and make it flourish >>13119 Drops aside it's still interesting to see that the gachaposters and vtuber anons preferred this place. I guess having audio on videos and multiple files per post was just the thing to keep them coming back. Only board I'm sad to see collapse is /a/ to be hoenst.
>Final Solution to Performance Issues Coming This Weekend Did anything happen?
>>13231 Most if its already happened. We're waiting for the CDN system we're hooking up to be ready but the rest is all done.
>>13248 Nice. Thanks for the update.
(13.15 KB 240x230 1604854317380.jpg)

>>12820 >You can expect 4chan to go down again This would be funny as hell. Goes down again, goes back up next week, down another week, repeating as they lazily fix each new vulnerability and rush to get the site back online, only to have it go down again to the next one. It would truly live up to the nickname "halfchan"
>>13251 Thats what they want, inconsequential "!le hacked!!?xD" zoomies not realizing theyre just doing all the work for lazy raped monkey man to patch probably the most relevant website, at least at some point, for internet freedom for no reason
