Throw ideas to improve the site in a nutshell.
>>12864 I’m pretty sure we’re blacklisted from saucenao.
>>12881 >blacklisted from saucenao Why?
>>12887 Probably because of our name. We're boogeymen.
>>9460 I've read some anons still missing the boards they used to visit like /i/ or /mu/ While to replace every board of halfchan seems like a bad idea Why not make a /hobby/ board for that kind of content? Also i think is there an issue on how the icons interact with setting the browser automatically in a dark theme so thanks to that haven't seen the "pic related" icons of the site for a while Could you give it a look too?
At the end of the top boards list, why not have a more page link so its more obvious about the other boards? >>9570 Posts per hour?
please make so that when you're in catalog view on one board and you switch to another board, you view the catalog view of that other board, and not the normal view.

the overboard needs a catalog and a board exclusion feature like a reverse multiboard: /overboard-excluded1-excluded2/. i swear i remember making this exact suggestion years ago when 8chan was more alive. >>12073 also it breaks file downloads on android firefox and tor browser. frustrating. >>9567 you made me remember how i made suggestions like that for the front page all the way back in 2016. i'm not an 8ch regular for years. dug this pic out deep from a folder. believe it or not hotwheels did see it and implemented at least some of it. actually i think that's what your image is heh. >>11888 fuck it if the dev is lazy just make a /catalog.txt in the format of "thread_no text thumb_link\n". then at least linuxnerds like me will be able to use tools like grep and fzf to filter threads. likewise for the overboard in the format of "board thread_no text thumb_link\n"
>>12957 (actually how it looks now on 8kun.top must have been the result)
>>12957 >board exclusion feature like a reverse multiboard: /overboard-excluded1-excluded2/. I suggested the same thing years ago, though I called it an overboard blacklist. the idea is that I want to use the overboard to see all posts on the site so I can find new boards and get a feel for activity around here, but there's specific boards that I know I never want to see, so it'd be cool to just exclude the ones I know I don't want, and have everything else for discovery
(273.00 B css.txt)

add this compact css or let me click a bookmark link that bypasses the disclaimer and imports the settings including css
put the little "Remember to follow the Rules" text with the link to the board's rules page in the quick reply box, right above or below the reply button. most people use that instead of the one at the top of the page, but since that button doesn't have the rules link near it, they forget to check the board's rules when they're new.
>>9460 Can we PLEASE get a feature which lets you download all the images in a thread at their full resolution? It's like the most obvious feature for an imageboard to have but I've never seen it implemented.
>>13369 Doesn't DownThemAll serve that purpose?
>>12935 >Posts per hour? That isn't what Velocity meant, otherwise site PPH on 8kun would have been utterly insane. That would mean the shit taste thread on /b/ in that screenshot was getting as many posts as several entire boards. You can also see by the reply count that's just not how fast those threads actually are. I think Ron posted about how Velocity was calculated before but I can't remember what it was.
>ideas to improve the site pin this thread?
>>13472 Might be similar to my idea of “buoyancy”, which was a system where threads get “heavier” the more replies they have and move up fewer positions in the catalog per bump because of it while also sinking at a faster rate of it it isn’t bumped.
Given the amount of spam, an image description tool and a check as to whether any of the words produced match keywords in a dictionary, which could then be used to flag content as being nsfw and automatically spoilering it. Alternatively, it could be reverse searched to a booru where it would check whether it is tagged as explicit. The md5's would also be flagged as being nsfw and be autospoilered on sfw boards.
Implement an image detection system using off the shelf projects like YOLO11 to stop spammers. Implement perceptual hashing to generate image finger prints to blacklist or whitelist images. I posted this on /v/'s meta thread but I'm going to repeat it here, the system would work like this. >user posts image >image gets tagged by the image detection system >if with image contain certain keywords or combination of keywords, like black man and sex ,or scat the post is withhold >then a global or local volunteer/moderator checks the post >if its a false positive, the volunteer whitelist the image and frees the post >is a positive, the volunteer blacklist the image and deletes the post and ban the user This way the only people who will see the images are the moderators, board owners and volunteers.
Can you put a thread on the watch list without posting in it?
>>13956 Click the eye icon on the OP.
>>13661 >Given the amount of spam Where? Which boards?
when i click a button (like refresh a thread) make it disabled when its request completes (success, failure, timeout, dun matter) undisable it EZ i just want to know if it did the thing without having devtools open
you can get better listing on google with the seo addon if you can get it working again. breaking diff: https://gitgud.io/LynxChan/LynxChan/-/commit/b59b6e96e1422e24a0383aa6692debb5cb0d4b08 you can limit the crawler to sfw boards with robots.txt User-agent: * Disallow: / Allow: /gacha/ Allow: /co/ Allow: /vyt/ Sitemap: https://8chan.moe/vyt/sitemap.xml Sitemap: https://8chan.moe/co/sitemap.xml Sitemap: https://8chan.moe/gacha/sitemap.xml
I put some finishing touches on what I could salvage of the old /cyber/ CSS adapted to use on lynxchan, and changed the url bits to point towards resources on >>>/res/ since Codexx told me that's how it works, might be nice to have as a native CSS option with a bit of tweaking.
>>14239 And a copy of the old vichan version for corrections where they might be needed to make it look more like the original.
>>13390 That only saves thumbnails. There's no way to expand all thread pictures to save them in high res.

A selection box , checked by default, which indicates that the file you are about to upload is AI sloppa and thus will be deleted in (time). There is no reason whatsoever for the board to store AI generated images beyond the active life of the discussion to which it was attached. Total media size: 2.79 TB
Freeze new board creation until the site is actually stable. Also start forcing a cap on board size. Right now this place is at a happy medium but it's constantly breaking. The #1 feature is accessibility. Also stop counting failed captxhas as flooding attempts
>>14815 maybe no on freezing board creation but what if new boards started out with smaller caps and got promoted? i guess you'd need to grandfather the really old boards in or come up with some PPH/PPD formula
I would like to see a /tg/ board.
Can we finally get shift+click-to-filter? We had this on Prime god knows how many years ago, I don't want to burn your asses but come on guys, this should have come before an oekaki or filename obfuscation. >>13640 That's a kind of radical but not terrible idea. Would threads also fall faster, i.e. fall even if nothing is bumping them out? There's an issue of new threads not getting many replies on posting before being buried under regulars, cyclicals, and generals. There's also the issue of really old, large threads getting "bumpfagged" every few weeks/months even after discussion dies.
>>9460 Ban leftists AKA Blacked fetishists AKA /interracial/
I think it would be better if, for long posts, it said "Expand post" or "Show the whole post" instead of "Details." That would be more intuitive.
