/nepgen/ Outpost - Neptunia and Compile Heart Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 00:26:50 Id: d2a54a No. 1404
Our small but dedicated general community seems to have been scattered by the fall of NChan. Are there any /nepgen/ refugees still floating around here? Any Nepfags in general? Would you mind setting up at our board at trashchan? https://trashchan.xyz/nep/thread/7517.html
>>2717 >there's nothing TO censor If they want to fuck with you, they'll find something. I'll remind you about Neptunia Riders, which is so tame it's first game in the franchise to get an E10 rating from the ESRB, and yet Nintendo STILL found something to take issue with. Like I said, it's only a matter of time. Just a few days ago, Steam-Heart's and Advanced Variable Geo had their Xbox releases canceled because of Microdick demanding a ridiculous amount of alterations. And those are already censored releases.
>>2728 >Steam-Heart's and Advanced Variable Geo had their Xbox releases canceled because of Microdick demanding a ridiculous amount of alterations. And those are already censored releases. What the FUCK? I didn't even hear about that shit. That should be front page news.
>>2740 There's already threads on other boards about Nintendo's censorship. And I'm pretty sure everyone's familiar with Soyny by now. Xbox doesn't get much coverage when they do this probably because they aren't very relevant for niche Japanese games. The only relatively high-profile Japanese game they hit was Gal*Gun Returns in 2020/1, which this case is basically a retread of. In fact, all the way back in 2011, they censored the first, orignal Gal*Gun game (which Returns is a remake of) on 360 via post-launch patch, which drove Inti Creates to Playstation for the sequel. So they've arguably been doing this longer than anyone else.
>Blanc and/or Rom/Ram fanservice getting censored in Nintendo Kek
>>2787 Sadly I don't think any platform would tolerate fanservice of its CPU anymore, and they never revealed who the PC CPU ever was.
>>2955 >and they never revealed who the PC CPU ever was Whoever she is, she looks just like Arfoire. The body Arfoire inhabited for most of SVS belonged to the PC continent's goddess.
>>2955 Well her name is probably Grey Heart right? Since Maho is Grey Sister.
>>2955 I don't think they even care that Blanc/Rom/Ram are supposed to represent Nintendo. Whoever is behind these decisions probably just sees a cutesexy anime girl and screeches because they recoil at anything cute and beautiful while upholding the ugly and profane (e.g., themselves).

Happy Easter, /nepgen/! Sadly, we're still missing quite a few of our old posters. I hope wherever they are, they're enjoying the holiday. Except IFtard, fuck him! I hope one of the "school bullies" he fetishizes so much has stuffed him in a locker somewhere to be forgotten.
>Connection failed >but the post still goes through, so I accidentally make a doublepost Why did almost everyone choose this buggy site?
>>2993 That's a good point I honestly forgot about. It also drives home that we'll probably never see the PC CPU without it being possession or whatever.
On that note, which platform is the most popular one for this series? Is it still the Playstation or did the Switch or PC overtake it?
>>3293 Playstation is the one Compile Heart has consistently given priority to, to the point that it feels like they literally don't playtest other versions because they all tend to run like shit compared to the PS version. I for one think there's an element of misplaced corporate loyalty there, but I don't know about sales. PC saw the franchise reach probably its highest point when the Re;Births first released on Steam, but I'm not sure how it's doing today. As for Switch, it's the only other platform CH develops for in-house, and has been steadily increasing in priority since 2019, but now that Nintendo are bullying the fuck out of them, they seem to be backing out of it. One of their upcoming games does not have a Switch release, when virtually every one of their games since 2020 has had one, either day-one or as a later port. If you ask me, I think you should stick to PC. All of the consoles heavily censor CH's games now and I don't think you should support that.
>>3293 Pretty much Playstation. PC versions and Switch versions are pretty hit or miss. Supposedly, there is a new mainline game coming out this year; so more than likely it will be PS5 exclusive (unless they want to still try and release it on PS4) with it MAYBE getting a port to Switch 2 (although that will more than likely be exclusive to Japan since NoA/NoE blocked the RB Trilogy and Code Z on Switch).
>>3311 >>3300 Damn, they are stubborn if it's another Playstation exclusive, when they don't help market or even promote any of their games. I think even Steam has Nep games on the front page but I don't think PS has advertised them significantly since.. the Vita era.

>>3311 It probably won't come to Switch (2) at all. As I said, Compile Heart are seemingly in the process of withdrawing their support for Nintendo consoles because Nintendo are going out of their way to target them for absurd levels of censorship. Why invest such resources in a port they will only get to sell in 1/3 of the market? It likely will get a PC port, if not day-one (Scar-Lead is day-one), then later. Almost all CH games have been getting PC ports since the late 10s. >>3314 As I said, it will almost certainly get a PC port. For all their stubborn, misplaced loyalty, they seem to be at least somewhat aware now that most of their base will not forgive Soyny for 2018/19. But I wish they would start giving more consideration to non-Steam stores.
>>3315 It'd be nice to have it on GoG, but I get why they don't considering their burning hatred of Piracy and how GoG's whole thing is no DRM.
>>3321 Well, considering what's happening with Tokyo Clanpool; I'm not sure they're any better of a choice. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to GoG rejecting it uncensored.
>>3325 ZOOM Platform would probably have taken it uncensored, but I don't know if CH/Eastasiasoft even know about them. JAST, too, but they're more of a VN distributor. I really wish they would release it uncensored, though. Even if they release an off-site patch, I don't want to give GOG money for censoring the game, but pirating it would hurt CH/EAS as well and make the chance of them doing anything else like it even lower.
>releasing uncensored from a business perspective, releasing uncensored doesnt really make strong business case unless you are already an eroge company. this has been always been balancing act (gray area where CH has been tight roping) to give what the hard core fans vs targeting new audience to expand ch demographics. the main problem with CH is that they want to be horny-safe but their the nep franchise has to target you with its sexual appeal (horny safe of course)
>>3325 I remember that. I always found it weird that they rejected that but were fine with Evenicle when Steam rejected that.
(389.50 KB 1280x720 2025010801193600.jpg)

>>3352 it's safe to say at this point that no platform has consistent rules on content or applies them fairly between developers it's just whatever the dipshit in charge at the moment thinks they can get away with MS:N came to switch and PC uncensored and its purge mode is only a degree or two milder than the Clanpool minigame(the swimsuits aren't skin-toned)
>>3372 I wish we could find out someday if this is being driven by payment processors or if these platforms really are just as petty as "Some intern who has a degree in women's basket weaving reviewed 10 games and put some in the icky bin to make it look like she's doing something today and to fight the patriarchy"
>>3343 It does when your brand is otaku fanservice game like Compile Heart and Eastasiasoft. And in case you can't tell, weebs/otakus do NOT take having their moe fanservice censored well. >targeting new audience What audience? Normgroids are never going to give CH games a chance. It's all just "weeb shovelware/kusoge" or sometimes "pedoshit" with them. >>3372 Forget Mary Skelter, three of four Genkai Tokki games are on Switch and one on Steam/GOG, all uncensored, and they blow both Mary Skelter and Tokyo Clanpool out of the water in risque content.
>>3395 >What audience? new audience. lets be honest, ch needs to target new demographics. ch is just hemorrhaging and losing nepfags >It's all just "weeb shovelware/kusoge" or sometimes "pedoshit" with them. yeah thats the problem. everyone sees them as just that. not enough great gameplay but more of a kusoge
>>3397 >ch needs to target new demographics. ch is just hemorrhaging and losing nepfags They need a new audience but the only audience who ever cared about them were nepfags. They could change their image if they had a bigger budget, bigger studio, maybe an outside publisher. They could pull off kind of what Arrow Head did with Helldivers 2 if they had Sony levels of publisher support. They'll never get that, because on top of being a kusoge company, every one of these companies also keep stabbing them in the back. Picture being surrounded by backstabbers and you still choose to stab the only people who care in the back, still. It's Sega levels of retarded management.
may i have the exact date and time when i can be with my wife?
>>3440 I was actually encouraging you to go to the other thread/board. I mainly made this thread to direct people to it.
DERQ Code Z is having a beta test for Steam. Dunno if we already knew if it was coming there, but it is https://x.com/IdeaFactoryIntl/status/1914712122178576473
I signed up to every one of these beta tests and never got accepted. No idea why.
GodDAMN there's a lot of characters in Rebirth 3. I couldn't believe it when they gave me a second Falcom. I played Victory when it first came out, so I don't know how much of this was DLC from that game that I didn't stick around for, and what's new to RB3, but I don't remember the roster being this absurd. And I'm pretty sure I still get the CPUs and Sisters from the Hyperdimension near the end, too. For those that played it, what did your front line end up looking like? Right now I'm running Marvelous, Loli Compa, Tekken, and 5pb. I don't remember Awakening being in the other games I played, so it's nice to use the Makers for a change without feeling like I'm gimping myself.
>>42046 I've consistently used Blanc (of course), Plutia and MAGES. throughout the game. The last slot has been a bit of a wild card for characters I want to try out and has shifted from Neptune to Falcom (Hyperdimension) and now Peashy. I don't like that the game locks such an important thing as EXE Drives behind using a character's SP Skills 100 times for the Plan, it kinda discourages trying out new characters. I don't intend to ever take Plutia or especially Blanc out of my party, but I'd like to try some of the other Makers, however, I'd have to grind their skill usage to be able to unlock their EXE Drives and that's a bit discouraging.
>>42098 Yeah, the Remake system is a lot better than what I remember the Scout system of the original being, but locking significant character upgrades behind plans and the challenges is irritating. Another example, you get an extra attack slot by having a character strike a victory pose 100 times, but since Tekken is my second-fastest character, she's the one striking the pose the vast majority of the time. So she's been significantly stronger than the rest of my party for several chapters now. I haven't looked up what all the challenge rewards are yet, mostly because I'm afraid of finding out that attack slots are locked behind running away 300 times or some shit like that. Also apparently the Gold Third members from VII could transform, but I honestly completely fucking forgot about them, even though I actually used C-Sha and K-Sha in my main party. Looks like I'm replaying that game next.

Every time I think about replacing Compa, she pulls some shit like this.

>>42117 >Another example, you get an extra attack slot by having a character strike a victory pose 100 times Yes, I somehow forgot about that at the time of the last post. Usually it's a Break Attack slot, but for Neptune and Plutia it's been something else. Neptune is currently the only character in my party with all of her fourth combo slots unlocked. I wonder where Blanc's are? I could use a 4th Rush slot since Satellabute is so good for building SP. >I haven't looked up what all the challenge rewards are yet, mostly because I'm afraid of finding out that attack slots are locked behind running away 300 times or some shit like that. I looked it up before and I think it's just the one. Which begs the question of where you get the others. I think I got Neptune and Plutia's from Stella's Dungeon, but Blanc's haven't shown up yet and I'm at Chapter 9. >Also apparently the Gold Third members from VII could transform Their trannsformations might actually be better than the goddesses since they seem to apply a flat damage multiplier to their given and taken damage, rather than just being a basic stat increase like with the HDD forms which quickly becomes negligible as you progress in the game and the NEXT forms only partially correct this. >>42122 Yes, loli Compa is adorable and she's only in this game. I tried using her in place of MAGES., but Compa Love Heart being her only decent SP attack hurts her, especially since it's physical-based instead of magic. It's also only one hit, so it quickly runs into the damage cap unless you get the Plan to remove it or couple her with Nepgear (which is major opportunity cost since she's the only character that gives the Break Damage Limit skill and there are other characters like Blanc and Tekken that need it much more).
>>42284 From what I remember, VII rebalanced Victory's combat by separating the SP and EXE gauge and resetting the latter at the start of every fight, so you couldn't just spam EXE Drives by chugging SP recoveries. But that made getting CPU and especially NEXT forms such an arduous process that I hardly ever used them anyway. I remember using Vert's when I could though, but I'm not sure if that's because hers was better or if it's just because I'm a Vertfag- this is the first time I haven't made her my leader since I wanted to use the Makers instead.
