TANAHASHI!? YOUNG LION!?!?
Also, New Japan is producing Japanese soaps now? Or direct to PPV movies?
>>118399 that's a real theatrical movie that's coming out in japan.

So I began watching NJPW from the end of 2016, but started from King of Pro Wrestling 2013 because it was the oldest show on watchwrestling and now after over 1.5 years I've finally caught up to the latest shows. I watched like 6-8 months of NJPW in the past 2 weeks alone, man that was tough, almost got sick of it all but I've finally done it. Had to skip some shows and prelim matches but didn't miss the key stuff, Dominion 2018 should be the first NJPW show I see live.

>>118512 >Not paying your 999 yen
I'm considering handing invitations for Dominion, at least for the weeb boards*
>>118513 One of these days you'll get my money Gedo. Not any time soon though… >>118514 Which boards?

>>118512 >Dominion 2018 should be the first NJPW show I see live. Dominion 2017 was the first NJPW show I saw live. >>118522 Someone make the Domino thread dammit
>Naito wins G1 2017 >Sanada & EVIL win World tag league >Hiromu wins BOSJ 2018 All in a row, LIJ on top too bad Bushi gets zilch again
>>118522 >Suzuki isn't on the card >Gets poster billing How far beyond "needs a belt to get over" has Suzuki gone now in his career? It is one thing to put Tana on the poster when he is working a 6 man tag, but Suzuki doesn't even have to show up to sell seats.

>>118526 He is on the card though
(1.21 MB 997x1159 Helio-Gracie-11.png)

>>118526 >Suzuki turns 50 in 10 days
Who else feels like NJPW is becoming a bit more American/WWEish? For example, they now seem to be having 4 way, 3 way matches and I think I've seen a table get BROKEN in a match in just about every show this year. Not too mention that the whole BC infighting thing has been total mandrama just like it's done in America granted that it is with the Bullet Club, their whole deal is that they are foreign and invading Japan but I digress..
>>118527 Well shit, kinda happy still because I like all four people in that match working with their opponents. Even as a Suzuki fan, I love the running theme that Yano has his number by virtue of being the least serious fighter possible
>>118529 >Not too mention that the whole BC infighting thing has been total mandrama just like it's done in America Bullet Club's drama has to be the worst storyline in New Japan right now, mostly because is disjointed as fuck and it should have ended a long time ago
>>118532 Yeah I agree, it's a mess. It should have been great but has a lot of inconsistencies. I don't even know what the bullet club is at this point, lost its identity. Shame since the whole thing was built up so nice and slowly since last year.
>>118529 >>118532 >>118551 idk why they're taking their sweet ass time Tama to take over.
>>118558 Up until that last Dontaku show, it seemed like the Tongan Club couldn't care less about the infighting in the faggot club. Heck for months they had their mandrama and all it took was Tama to extend a 2sweet to them minus Cody and Kenny and that's it. Omega seems like he is still part of the Bullet Club but at this point, he looks more distant from it than ever, a full on babyface with Ibushi, speaking in Japanese to connect with the audience. Of all the people, they have Cody to betray Kenny and made him the most hated heel, and he's just a part timer. Would be the perfect chance to make the real BC true heels, also karma for what Kenny did to AJ Styles. Well, let's just stick around and see what's the next step in Gedo's booking plan.
>>118529 >>118532 >>118551 >>118558 >>118562 I too would like to know what is happening. All I can think of is The Young Bucks convinced Gedo to let them do more of their "Being The Elite" stuff to tie in some stuff. Most notably the "What's in the box?" thing with Kenny wondering if he should hook up with The Young Bucks again or not. The problem with that is seemingly a lack of focus on how the other Bullet Club members are reacting to the fighting and stuff. All they did was just "Let's end it with a 2 sweet on our 5th anniversary." Although maybe at Dominion something else will come up, since they hinted something big at Dominion on BTE.
>>118529 To be frank, I think that this is a phase related to NJPW doing their US expansion. If you go into a new territory, you do things a bit more like a blend of your way and theirs for a while, it gives a more familiar jumping off point to then introduce them to your style. With puroresu this is no different, the Jerricho influence and pushing of the BC drama are both pretty key in bridging the gap for western normie audiences (as normie as wrestling fans get these days anyway). Ride it out, when you follow the industry long enough you get used to it, hell, even WWE pulled this shit when they started moving into Crocket territory.
>>118567 I just wrote WWE for a WWF era thing. FUCK VINCE GOT ME GUYS, I GOT THE F OUT IT TOOK THEM OVER A FUCKING DECADE BUT I THINK THEY BROKE ME.
