At the risk of sounding negative about the NJPW product, while I may be being extremely unfair by comparing it to last year's so which was beyond exceptional I found WK12 to be "good but flawed".
Some of the matches felt either overbooked or clumsy in execution. Still miles better than anything WWE has put out in years but hardly their best effort to date.
>Bucks vs R3K
Fine, no problems with this one as an opener. I'm as sick as anyone of the Bucks at this point but it woun't hurt R3K at all
>NEVER 6 man
Pure filler and why the fuck is Sabre Junior wasting his time with those other two losers?
>Kota vs Cody
Great match fucked up by ROH's decision not to keep the belt on Cody. Had it had higher stakes I'd have called this match of the night.
>IWGP Tag
Again a really good match that got over the strengths of the wrestlers. Still not entirely convinced by EVIL but that's a personal issue.
>Goto vs Suzuki
This one was a lot more restrained than i thought it would be but then I considered Goto's match with Shibata last year to be one of the matches of the night so obviously my expectations were unreasonably high. I think the winner was wrong as I feel Goto needs to move away from the NEVER scene and up the card.
>IWGP Junior 4 way
This was overbooked as fug. It really only needed to be Osprey vs Skurll as it was the real story of this match and the hiromu/ KUSHIDA thing has long run it's course imho.
>Old man Tana vs Edgelord literally who?
I've never cared less about the IWGP IC title as I have in the hands of Tanahashi. He was gassed after a few minutes and really really needs to rest. Jay was fine I suppose, but I've barely heard of the bloke and fail to see what warrants him being here other than "Well we need to have Tana SOMEWHERE"
>Jericho vs Omega
Could never live up to the hype and honestly didn't. Jericho showed his age in trying to wrestle at Kenny's pace. Also what the fuck was up with Kenny's entrance gear? Could he please fucking take one match seriously for once rather than going all lolsonerdyXD. Otherwise it was fine, spent too long on the outside at the beginning but it was okay.
>Okada vs Naito
It was a really good match but fuck me what has Okada got on the booking team? This was really the right time for Naito.
