Open world beat 'em up

>>596 Collect-a-thon where Marisa steals everything.
>>596 Horror game with the gameplay of Amnesia or Outlast where you have to escape the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Every inhabitant with a unique behaviour / movement pattern and if you get caught, you get a graphic game over animation.
An open-world RPG where you create your own character, explore Gensokyo, fight danmaku battles, and work with the major characters to solve an incident. The incident's resoluton would be different depending on which faction you sided with.
>>600 Now this I can get behind. I suppose even the fairy maids could be scary enough if their childish giggling means one of the other inhabitants is already homing in on your position. And that's before you consider whatever creature other than her chupacabre Remilia might be keeping around for her own amusement.
Arkanoid with Lumia.
An arcade game where it's up to Chen to get to the bottom of an incident involving an attempt to merge Modern Touhou with PC-98 Touhou.
>>621 But they're the same.
game where you fug 2hus
>>635 Pretty sure this was done before.
>>636 what about game where you impregnate 2hus
>>638 How about you stop sitting in your basement all day, thinking about playing games and go find yourself an umbrella girlfriend to impregnate?
>>640 On second thought, a progression game where you start a karakasa factory with Kogasa sounds nice.
>>638 >>640 A Hakurei dating simulator where you have to be the stay-at-home-husband for Reimu and ensure she's always in her best condition for taking care of accidents actually might be interesting, if you prop it up as a proper simulation game. Doubly so if you had to deal with all the other girls who show up when Reimu's not there.
>>645 I've been wishing for exactly that when I first played eratohoTW. >Sitting on the shrine porch in the middle of the night, waiting for your wife to come back from her ass kicking work, not knowing if she will even return today. >Carrying her to bed and changing her to her nightgown after she falls into your hands, absolutely spent. >Planting a smooch on her forehead as you go to put away the diner you kept warm since early evening. If that ain't romantic, I dunno what is.
>>649 I'd expect even just dating Reimu would be difficult because she's more used to dealing with youkai than she is to dealing with humans. And you'd obviously have a lot of her youkai friends having very high expectations for her potential groom. On the plus side, the same youkai would probably do everything in their power to support you once they have deemed you a suitable suitor for her. And hells have mercy on the poor bastard who goes after Reimu's better half when either she herself or one of her numerous friends are watching.

>>650 Youkai are always depicted as rather free-willing, spontaneous and uncommitted beings, that give little to no fucks about human traditions, customs or interpersonal relations. I'd imagine as long as she herself is okay with it, at least youkai part of her friends would either be chill or make moves on her suitor just to fuck with her. On the other hand I can totally see Marisa throwing a fit because she no longer has monopoly on her childhood friend's attention. Though, you do have a point about how 2hus seldom interact with men aside from shoposexual Rinnosuke. Considering their reaction to witnessing a love letter in FS, I could totally imagine them being somewhat autistic around men their age. Especially men who'd be interested in having a relationship with them.
>>652 Question is whether any of the men from the village would actually be willing to show interest in them. For all they know, Marisa might as well be a youkai (living in that forest filled with toxic miasma nad all that), and Reimu seemingly being more comfortable with youkai than with humans points in the same direction. I wouldn't be surprised if the villagers felt more fear than love towards her.
>>662 Reimu has an excuse for being both different from, and not very sociable with the villagers, because muh servant of god. And it's not like she advertises her relationship with youkai. The way I see it, if there is a rumor about youkai at the Hakurei shrine, it's probably about how the shrine itself is being haunted, and the supposed extermination expert that lives there can't to do anything about it. Plus I don't remember the rumor circulating among actual villagers, it's usually used by youkai themselves to mock Reimu. Actually, can any japanese tradition weebs coin in? Historically, what's the relationship between shrine servants and commoners? I'd imagine the former kept to themselves to some degree to preserve the mystique of their profession. Now Marisa is another thing. She has no real excuse for being a weirdo other than, I guess, coming from a lineage of magical quackery salesmen (aka weirdos), but it would be hard to gauge public perception of her family without actually seeing her dad's shop for once. But then again, if her dad got some pussy despite being a magical shop nerd, she should have no problem at all. What would be a great stain on her reputation is her habit of boldly borrowing other people's stuff, though she probably doesn't steal from humans, otherwise, knowing her, Mootori family would never tolerate her presence anywhere near their bookshop (unless they actually believe she'll pay off a lifetime's worth of book rental fees). So, yeah. If I was an ordinary young man, brought up in a secluded, highly traditional community, I can imagine not wanting anything to do with her. Unless you are into weirdos.
>>662 >>663 >Question is whether any of the men from the village would actually be willing to show interest in them Didn't Forbidden Scrollery and Wild and Horned Hermit sort of explained Reimu's relationship with the villagers? Though to be honest, those 2 (canon) mangas have a very different interpretation to Reimu's relationship with the village. Wild and Horned Hermit's take is that Reimu sees the village as nothing more than a limited audience that she tried as hard as she could well not really, as Reimu is a lazy piece of shit in this manga to win over their devotion and more importantly, donations. She does this through pulling random schemes Ed, Edd'n, Eddy style to make her shrine more appealing that the Moriya shrine up in the mountains, since hers is closer to the village. So, the villager's attention to the harukei shrine miko is fleeting at best, and one-note at worst. Forbidden Scollery's take on Reimu, presents her as a responsible protector of the village, dealing with minor incidents as best as she could, while clearly having being the authoritarian figure in the village in dealing with Youkais. At some point, she actually does kill a Youkai on the spot, breaking barely any sweat doing it. Not only that, she even managed to befriend a local village girl and induct her into her close circle of Youkai confidants. However, her shrine still barely pulls in believers, though at least she doesn't pull any scams this time around. So yeah, any relation between the villagers with Reimu is distant at best.

>>665 >befriend a local village girl and induct her into her close circle of Youkai confidants More like youkai hang around Kosuzu because she likes jerking off with their books, while Reimu has to both clean up her shit and look after her so that those elder scrolls don't get stuck in her ass for good next time. Reimu does oppose her antics, but she also does so extremely passively and gets quickly blackmailed out of it. Also, it's implied she's friends with Kosuzu way before FS. >presents her as a responsible protector of the village Kinda, yeah. But as I said in another thread, after the fortune teller chapter it seems more like she's ensuring her job security rather than protecting the village because she's a responsible guardian (think about it, the only dangerous thing about fortune teller was how his entire existence was threatening the segregation between people and youkai, without which youkai would be left without the fear that supports their entire existence and Reimu would be left without a job). The way Reimu is in FS, I wouldn't put this above her. Really, the more you observe Reimu in different works, the more you see how much of a generic protagonist type character she is. Little to no consistent characterization beyond "heroic", she just adapts the rest of her traits to whatever mood and story ZUN wants to set and tell at the time.
>>666 Speaking of Reimu in print works. A touching game about molesting her at the end of WaHH sounds pretty enticing.
>>667 >A touching game >implying the other girls didn't furiously lick her armpits while Reimu was in hell
>>669 >implying I didn't imply anything. It was my entire point how there isn't a single shitty 5-page doujin on the topic for some reason.
>>667 Raymoo's armpits being an object of worship is something i'll go with tbh
>>674 The true Hakurei god?
>>676 Coming to think of it - if Aunn watched over the Hakurei shrine even back when she still was a statue, wouldn't she know the Hakurei god's true name? And couldn't Reimu ask her about this?
>>679 Aunn is a collective spirit of all Gensokyo komainus. She probably knows lots of shit nobody else does. And from the way she managed to please both Moriya and Hakurei in WaHH despite being sent by the latter to hinder the former, she's also way more cunning than people assume.

>>596 I was going to say a Touhou DOOM wad, that's the only fangame (i think) that could be feasibly and realistically done well enough... Until it was actually made a few years back. So with that out of the list, i'll rephrase it as a 3D Touhou FPS. However, it kinda depends on the Western Touhou community since the Chinese / Japanese community distanced themselves from FPSes
>>680 >she's also way more cunning than people assume I mean, she does have considerable understanding of datamining despite not even having much of a connection to the outside world.
>>705 There's also the Doom Hack, which had Reimu Yukkuris as enemies, and Yukari as the final boss.
>>705 The TOUHOU COMMUNITY?!
>>707 I remember playing that WAD. I recall trying to play it recently, but due to the age of it, the colors kept going crazy (the game would still play alright). It's an interesting WAD.
I honestly wouldn't mind doing a Monkey-island style point n' click adventure game starring either Aya (i.e., her doing an investigation) or Patchouli (just for her snarky dialogue). Genokyo officialy not abiding by common sense also would be a convenient excuse for adding some troll logic puzzles. For instance, suppose you need to do something at the Hakurei shrine, but Reimu currently is at home and will invariably throw you out for being so nosy. What do you do? You move some distance away from the shrine proper and use the "Coin" item with the "suspicious spot on the ground". Reimu will obviously hear this and promptly show up to search for the money, giving you some time to investigate the shrine and do whatever mayhem you need to do there. Most of the other riddles would abide by a similar kind of humor - i.e., spicing up sake by dropping a bit of the stuff from Suika's gourd into it (how you get that gourd without Suika eating crow would be another riddle), or changing the size of another object with the (equally conveniently borrowed) miracle mallet.
(95.94 KB 848x480 TITLEPIC[1].jpg)

>>708 r/Touhou's preferred nickname. >>707 And then there's also Touhou earth invasion, which basically lifts girls from Touhou Doom, and makes them into enemy replacements. The titlepic says it all, which is just about average quality for a moddb doom mod. >>709 There was a remake around a few years ago, it should work fine with modern ports. >>710 >"suspicious spot on the ground" >Reimu will obviously hear this and promptly show up to search for the money, Blasphemy, Reimu is a proud shrine maiden, not some beggar. She only prostitutes herself in the name of gods, and would never stoop so low as to scavenge loose change from anywhere but a donation box.
>>717 >There was a remake around a few years ago Is there any link for it?
Dark Souls clone. You play as a nameless fairy to neatly explain both why you can respawn and why everything's kicking your ass.
>>726 https://www.mediafire.com/?ogjcmxjwihbmgyk This should be it, but I can't check right now.
Whatever happened to Paper Tenko, anyway?

I want to play touhou 10 pin bowling game
>>739 Where you bowl over Touhous?
>>739 is that just elf bowling but with hus
(2.03 MB 1280x900 rI85jQm.jpg)

>>727 It could work. Considering the plethora of Dark-souls inspired games in 2D and 3D.
>>761 Especially the precious things.
>>737 You know, why do the best hus wear hats and the shit ones don't?
(149.62 KB 362x346 ClipboardImage.png)

>>761 What is she doing in that picture? Asserting her dominance? Pegging Patchy? Testing out her strength? Try to replicate something that Patchy had seen inside of one her books?
>>965 Probably just wrestling her over possession of one book or another. Given Patche's overall health, that actually would come with a much higher success rater than challenging her in a danmaku duel.
>>972 That's the thing about magicians. Can't they just magic themselves up some health?
>>974 Probably? Byakuren uses her magic to increase her physical aspects. Patchouli probably just doesn't give a fuck by virtue of being a turbo-autist.
dungeon crawler where you recruit touhous into fighting for you SMT style.
(910.86 KB 1024x768 Eirintear.png)

Recettear, but with a cute girl from the human village instead. You sell stuff, hire Reimu, Marisa, or Sanae to collect treasure for you, and may even open up the shop "at night" to serve youkai customers. However, disappointing youkai customers by not having the items they want may trigger a "youkai raid" scenario where you have to barricade the shop and ward off the offended youkai until Reimu or Keine arrive to save your sorry ass. Another issue is that youkai, generally speaking, pay much better for those artifacts that you do have, but dealing with them too much increases an in-game suspiscion meter, which negatively affects the number of humans customers you get during daytime and, at worst, may even get you a non-standard game over by virtue of having your sorry ass kicked out of the village. Gods may also play a role - you can pray to Kanako, the Aki sisters etc. and receive certain boons from them, but the gods demand sacrifice, and not giving them the items they want results in you getting cursed. And that's before you consider the risk of Jo'on and Shion showing up in your store.
>>975 >Probably? Byakuren uses her magic to increase her physical aspects. I FUCKING KNEW SHE WAS USING MAGIC TO ENHANCE THOSE TITS OF HERS! Full of lies just like her preaching. >Patchouli probably just doesn't give a fuck by virtue of being a turbo-autist. That and due to Magicians like her working with poisonous shit like mercury tends to weaken the body even if they're no longer human. Basically, they balance out poor health with magical power and the ability to no longer age (though Byakuren seems to be an exception due to her abilities unless I'm missing something there). >>986 I'd play it. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened already.
>>985 I thought that was already a thing.
>>995 Labyrinth of Touhou, Gensyo Wanderer, Remyadry. Dungeon crawler part is definitely not a new idea, but I don't remember ever seeing SMT-like talker-crawlers specifically. (Wanderer is great, by the way. Play it.)
