Toxoplasmosis 06/19/2022 (Sun) 01:25:23 No. 13266
X Files: Watching episodes for the past month. Not going to lie, it's not good and it's not all bad. Season 1 has been partially watched. Moved on to Season 2 and it's just as corny as Season 1. >ITT talk about X Files

>>13266 They aired the show to the TV here when I was a kid (early 90's) and remember my mom was not very pleased because it was considered a creepy show not to be watched by kids. I liked it but didn't seen a lot of episodes at this time. So recently I watched all the seasons (maybe stopped to season 9). I plan to rewatch it, I think about it currently. It's quite repetitive and the backstory is sometimes boring but I like this serie a lot. The themes swinginblisg between simple creepypastas to well estahed conspiracy theories, the esthetic and the Scully / Mulder duo really made it for me. Some episodes are really not good (bad scenario, poor realisation) and some are very well writted and realised. I'm not a big series watcher (I almost watch none tbh) but I really enjoy this one. It may be part with some nostalgia feeling and the themes covered that speaks to my inside old school geek. Also, I may have a crush on Scully especially when she wares glasses.
Basically just the Rockford FIles in the Twilight Zone. I probably watched 5 or 6 episodes over the years they were going. I thought the one with the guy whose shadow kills people was pretty funny. Mulder gradually gets more annoying and the plots become more contrived to support the overarching story that was pulled from the writers's asses. 4/8
(((imo))) not great. An I was a preddy routine watcher when it was airing. When you're young, you want the resolution of the bigger plot arcs and can brush aside just how crummy and jam packed with predictive programming those are. When you're older it's all about the monster of the week and experimental eps while you perv out on Scull-dawg there's one season where she was knocked up and her bustyness was extra busomy. The reboot seasons are basically a total fanfic write off and sully the comforting 'member?ies. That said, still think it makes for gud meme fodder.

Despite the fact that her mouth is open most of the time like some kinda mouth-breather, Gillian Anderson is pretty heckin' cute. Even went and watched the risible Tristram Shandy movie thing mostly because she was in it (and yes, she's hot as a bundle of sticks being incinerated in that). It's really about her facial motility.
>>13273 >Also, I may have a crush on Scully If you want to nip that in the bud, watch the BBC's abortion, The Fall. I've never seen so much feminist lesbian bullshit in all my life and I was fucking embarrassed for her. I can't find the scene, but there's a bit where the police captain, an old flame, shows up drunk at her hotel room and tries to induce a sexual encounter. It's treated as rape when he tries to kiss her and she punches the shit out of him, which, naturally, knocks him out because GRRL POWER! Later, as she's putting a bandaid on his wound in the bathroom, he looks at her and, with complete seriousness, asks "Why are women... emotionally stronger than men?" She then goes on a calm rant about living with misogyny etc etc. This is half an hour after she tried to convert a straight fellow officer, by the way. Holy shit, did that show ruin her for me.

>>13295 >tfw no scully pokies to twist
>>13312 Reminded me that in the alternate better? Twin Peaksniverse instead of fighting against the bureaucracy of the FBI, Mulder put on a dress and got affirmatived-actioned right to the top of it. Holeee shmokies did the return S3 have a lot of great laughs in it
>>13312 Ze Smokang Mang was also one of the teen's dads (who smok'd cigs) on the original Degrassi. No pic related as I can't find any visual evidence to back up my claim
One last point which feels braggy to bring up, but ©anadAnon was actually a wee youf in Vancouver (now Hongcouver) back when the series was being filmed there and may have been an extra in an early ep featuring a red turban'd cult or so the story goes... Only ever told the full tale on orig 8chaim fa/tv/irgin bort back inna day an is not really worth recounting.
>>13295 It's not so much the actress as the character of Scully itself that I like tbh. Her personality plays a lot and the way the role is written and incarnated by Anderson really has something attractive for me.

>>13321 >It's not so much the actress as the character of Scully itself that I like tbh. Fair enough. Dana IS pretty cool. I definitely liked Anderson better as a redhead.

>>13317 Yeah, that was fucking nuts. Watching Lynch remind "her" that he never fucked around with pronouns like everyone else in a grovelling manner kind of irked me, though.
