This one feels appropriate to post since the first time I darkened Davey's doorstep with my lousy, obsessive threads it was all about 水曜日のカンパネラ (Wednesday Campanella)
Like those borts and threads of the past, everything with WedCamp burnt down and had to start anew. Kom_i left the group to make genuinely unlistenable neo-folk recordings of grannies groaning to plinky-plonk strings and Kenmochi had to go find another lead for the project. Who he found was Utaha who has nothing of the style or flair that Kom_i seemed to brandish on a whim but who also might be a more polished and better trained singer/vocalist than her too.
I can't say any of the nu-WedCamp material did much for me. None of the videos feel particularly inspired and Utaha has a terrible fashion sense. Still, Edison (lead single off their last release) isn't too bad, it's actually probably their biggest hit view-wise to date and she will probably bring in a whole nu-audience.
This track is the first to provide me genuine earworm quality in a long while from them.
>is it actually "good"?
Depends. On the surface it's bogstandard house with jap vocals. Actually getting into a translation of the lyrics reveals this is in fact a song for faries . I mean like literally it's about Tinkerbell from Peter Pan as some sort of fairy-dust drug dealer operating out of a discrete location, handing out coupons, and threatening people with her mob-ties to Capt. Hook.
Thers a video with built in translation, but it's honestly boring af and an adhd mess. So here's the proper song.
