how to buy a diaper at 18 Baby 04/27/2023 (Thu) 17:27:33 No. 24714
>me, 18, student, uk >parents are going out for a trip and wont be back until sunday morning >brother will be working nightshift from 6pm to 11pm i can barely contain myself im literally shaking rn where would i buy some big diapers? ive always been afraid to buy some in public and usually just have to use bedroom pillows without actually using them? im thinking that maybe when i buy one i walk in the woods at night, ive never worn a diaper since i was 3 im shaking rn tell me what diapers in pharmacies are recommended and what else i should probably do
don't know about brands in the uk, but I'd recommend you look that up unless you want to be staring at diapers in the supermarket. Tena slip or depend is fine in my experience. Price matters a lot too, depending on how much you can spend. I recommend you buy the diapers, baby power and wipes (if you want), and small transparent plastic bags for disposing your diapers. Roll the diaper into a ball, use paper/newspaper to cover it up, wrap it in the plastic bag. It will now be generic garbage you can throw into the bin. Do note, depending on your family, you may need to remove some garbage first to properly hide your diaper under. I remember the tension buying them for the first time, but now I even buy them in bulk. Just walk to the aisle, grab what you want, then pay for it. Nobody, and I mean, nobody will give a shit. They may look at you -- because you're physically close, but they will pay no mind. Everyone is too busy buying doing their groceries. cheers
>>24714 I remember what it was like. I was 18 or 19 and was visiting someone in another town. On my way back home I picked up a pack of pullups from boots and changed into them in a bathroom somewhere. Then wore them on the train home. In the early years you just have to rely on what you can find. Go to boots or something and hope they have the slip. If not, you'll have to make do with their pullups. Boots sometimes has self checkout which can help ease the nerves but honestly no one gives a fuck unless they also have the kink.
Large Tesco stores also often stock adult nappies and have self checkouts so you don't need to interact with anyone. I don't know if the brands they have are any good. They should at least have bedwetting nappies. For disposal, if you think your bin at home might be a problem then you can always put them in a paper bag or something and throw them away in a public bin.
>>24717 I remember going to Walmart a couple times as a teenager to get pull-ups and I saw an upperclassmen who lived in the same neighborhood as I did. This happened more than once, and I hope he never saw me any of those times.
>>24734 A sort of school acquaintance saw me buying pampers once and asked what I was doing, I just said some family were visiting and I was asked to pick some up for my cousin
>>24714 I assume ordering them online isn't an option?
>>24743 This, all the good ones are going to be online
>>24751 not really, if you don't care about prints then abri form is probably the best diaper around and thats easily found in stores
>>24773 Tena ultima masterrace.
>>24714 if you have access to a car drive to a store a few towns over, try not to be nervous because it'll make you stand out as a shopper but you might not be able to control that, you could also wear a face mask and use self checkut if its available
>>24714 Fellow UK anon here, I remember doing the same when I was like 14 and had the house to myself for the first time. You can buy Tena diapers at Boots if you just want something basic that'll get the job done, they're relatively cheap for a pack of like 30 but they won't hold a ton if you're planning on wetting them heavily, so be mindful of leaking if you're gonna flood your diaper. Also get powder (not necessarily because you'll need it, it just adds to the experience). You can get that pretty much anywhere though if you don't wanna be buying diapers and powder at the same time (you could also get generic sports talcum powder if you're too conscious about it). If you really want the best stuff and you can safely order packages without people opening them or asking questions, get a proper abdl brand like ABU/Rearz. It's more expensive but it makes a big difference compared to basic incontinence stuff. you can order from ABUniverse or other sites online, and if you don't have a debit card/don't want it appearing on a bank account statement if your family sees that kind of stuff, you can buy prepaid debit cards in various places (I know Boots has them), they work like normal debit cards but they've got a set balance on them like a gift card, you just buy one with the balance you want for a little extra fee (I think I got like a £30 one for £32 or something when I first did this).
>>24714 Height, Waist Size, Weight?
What date are they going? The best option is to just buy online from a company like Tykables or Northshore. They usually give you a tracking number with an exact time on the day so you can intercept.
>>24714 If you buy them at a pharmacy like Boots or Lloyds the staff really won't care. Just try to act like it's normal. Mean it's literally what a pharmacy is for. It's nowhere near the most embarrassing product they have to sell. Worst you'll ever get is a girl behind the counter thinking you're cute and giving you a wink
Shame in the uk we stupidity prefer selling them elder pullups then the poofy tapes We can't even get comfy 24/7 without America charging uk £100
>>24812 Friend and I were chatting tonight at the bar about our Canadian prudeness about nudity and Japanese Onsens where you're expected to strip, shower, and then bathe in the nude with total strangers. When viewed objectively, it should be fine. You don't know the people around you, and they don't care about your nudity. Just strip, wash, and get in the onsen. But our natural prudeness overrides that objectivity and it makes it so unnecessarily awkward. Ditto the pharmacy - find a quiet one away from where you normally shop, walk in, grab it off the shelf, walk up to the counter, pay, leave, DONE. It's over like that, and then you're walking home with a big package of diapers. It feels great! And yet I'm always shaking in my boots...
