FUWAMOCO no BAKUTAN☆BAU BAU Diary~! Ruffian 07/08/2025 (Tue) 03:49:34 No. 4082
FuwaMoco have just started a column in Famitsu magazine. I saw a translation for it, so I thought having a thread for it might be a good idea.
>FUWAMOCOの爆誕BAUBAU だいあり~! Please tweet your thoughts on the column to #フワモコラム! >PROFILE: >Fuwawa Abyssgard The Demon Guard Dogs' facilitator, from the first twin vtubers in Hololive Productions. Always eager to tease her younger sister Mococo, she's a mischievous onee-chan. >Mococo Abyssgard The Demon Guard Dogs' rambunctious child, from the first twin vtubers in Hololive Productions. Although she's free-spirited and may fall asleep during streams, she's a very dependable person. >FIRST ISSUE: Guard Dog or monkey…? Hello, Famitsu readers! From Hololive English -Advent-, the twin demon guard dog sisters, together we're FUWAMOCO! Active mainly on YouTube, we're Vtubers! We stream a variety of games, including visual novels and retro games on original hardware. We also host a morning show, and sing nostalgic japanese songs in karaoke. We do lots of different things! Maybe it's a little confusing, but Fuwawa Abyssgard is the older sister, Mococo Abyssgard is the younger sister, and together we're FUWAMOCO! We grew up as Demon Dogs in the Northwest Passage, in the Makai, so japanese isn't our native language, but we're currently living in Japan! All the guard dogs in the Makai speak dog, so we naturally BAU BAU a lot! BAU BAU can mean "thank you", "I'm sorry", "I love you", there's lots of different uses. Everyone should try using it in your everyday lives too! It's very useful! Unlike most other vtubers, we almost always stream games together! We've always played together since we were kids, after all! Usually Mococo plays the game, and Fuwawa gives advice (also known as backseating (laughs)), this kind of style. So when our viewers (ruffians) give us all sorts of advice and tips it makes us really happy! We think of games as something to be enjoyed all together! We firmly believe that games are a key part of what made us into who are today. Mama Puppy (our mama) played games the entire time we were in her tummy too, so we've been loving games since before we were born! At that time, Mama Puppy was super into "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past"! Together with Mama Puppy and Papa Puppy, we'd play Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, we grew up playing japanese games as a family. That's why japanese games are very precious and special to us. We have memories of us all squeezing together in front of the Nintendo 64 to play "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"! Even in the middle of getting really scared of the Skulltulas and Redeads, we'd all solve the puzzles together. It was soo much fun!
>>4083 The big reason why we started studying japanese was that we wanted to play games with no english version! Recently, we've been playing the nostalgic retro gaming masterpiece, "Donkey Kong Country 2" on the Super Nintendo! We actually started playing "Donkey Kong Country" shortly after our debut in Hololive Productions! So we just decided "let's play 2 as well!" And we can confidently say it's unlike any other "Donkey Kong Country 2" playthrough. Just like the first game, you can play "Donkey Kong Country 2" in two player co-op. Controlling both Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong, you set out to save Donkey Kong from the evil crocodile, Kaptain K. Rool. Since you're playing as the two characters, having two controllers is essential. So it's a perfect fit for us! Mococo plays as Diddy Kong, and Fuwawa plays as Dixie Kong. If we don't cooperate, we can't clear the stages, so team work is essential! But… it can also get pretty chaotic! (laughs) "Donkey Kong Country 2" is the most popular among fans, but it's also said to be the hardest in the series! So even though we may not be very skilled gamers (but we won't lose to anyone when it comes to enjoying them!), we always do our best! As we mentioned previously, we like playing retro games on original hardware! So we play with the japanese version on the SNES! We don't really know why, but the american cartridge we had suddenly stopped running… BAU BAU… In "Donkey Kong Country", if you turn off the power, you lose all of your remaining lives. So we aaaaalways leave the SNES on as we play it. It's been on for many months now (laughs). The Super Nintendo is a really strong console, isn't it? We're Demon Guard Dogs, but whenever we play Donkey Kong we scream SO loud that we sound more like monkeys… The Ruffians are always saying that "FUWAMOCO scream so much during Donkey Kong that it's basically the scariest horror game ever!" (laughs) Mococo gets so fired up when playing Donkey Kong, that I even broke a chair once…! It's so much fun, though, that I don't really mind breaking one or two chairs!! We'll continue doing our best trying to save Donkey Kong from Kaptain K. Rool in "Donkey Kong 2"! Let's have lots of fun together playing games, writing many new memories into our diary! And that was FUWAMOCO! BAU BAU! >RECENTLY LEARNED JAPANESE Since Japanese isn't our native language, we're learning new words every day! We just talked about it, but the impetus for us starting our japanese studies was wanting to be able to play any game! But even to this day we're always learning! Recently, we learned the word "Denmoku"! That little digital tablet you use to pick songs in karaoke! We really love singing, so in the past we used to go at least once a week! Since joining Hololive Productions, a lot of people have been listening to our singing and our voices. We sang YOASOBI's "Kaibutsu", SPEED's "White Love", and in our 3D Birthday LIVE, along with Shirakami Fubuki-senpai, Houshou Marine-senpai and Omaru Polka-senpai, we sang a live version of "Let's Go Onmyoji", we'd be really happy if you listened to them! And we also have our original song, "Born to be "BAU"DOL" available to sing in karaoke! It's a very cute and energetic song, with lots of "BAU BAU", it'll definitely get stuck in your head! We'd be really happy if you could try singing it some day!

From Hololive English -Advent-, the twin demon guard dog sisters, together we're FUWAMOCO! From Hololive English -Advent-, the twin demon guard dog sisters, together we're FUWAMOCO! Active mainly on YouTube, we're Vtubers. We stream a variety of games, including visual novels and retro games on original hardware! We also host a morning show, and sing nostalgic japanese songs in karaoke. We do lots of different things, you know? Fuwawa is a dependable older sister who is good at retorts, and Mococo is a younger sister who loves being tricky and getting spoiled! We grew up as Demon Dogs in the Northwest Passage, in the Makai, so japanese isn't our native language, but we're currently living in Japan. Lately, summer has really started to come in full force, right? But, you know, even though we're right in the middle of summer, we're seeing cherry blossoms every day! The reason for that? Our number one favorite visual novel in the whole world, AQUAPLUS' masterpiece, ToHeart, just got a brand new remake!! BAUBAUBAUBAU!! When we first heard the news, we couldn't believe it!! To tell you the truth, we actually heard the news a little earlier than everyone else! It was first announced during AQUAPLUS' 30th anniversary event, "Great AQUAPLUS Festival", and we went there in secret to celebrate! Don't worry, we made sure to hide our ears and tails very well! We've been fans for a long time, so when we heard it was getting remade after around 15 years, we were so, SO happy…! And with new 3D graphics too!! To explain to those who haven't played it, ToHeart is a multi-ending visual novel where you get to experience the heart pounding excitement of first love during your casual, everyday school-life. Once you play it, it'll stay with you forever! It's a legendary, heartwarming piece that is packed with many precious memories for us. It's no wonder it was big hit on PlayStation in the 90s, it's truly a masterpiece!! That's how amazing ToHeart is! Actually, before this new remake came out, there has never been an english version. So we studied japanese really hard with the goal of one day being able to play ToHeart! It was such a legendary game that it became a social phenomenon! The player takes on the role of Fujita Hiroyuki, a sharp-tongued but kind-hearted high school boy, and meets all kinds of cute heroines! Like the kind childhood friend Kamigishi Akari; the cheerful school gossip lover, Nagaoka Shiho; the mysterious and well-mannered rich girl from the Kurusugawa Group, Kurusugawa Serika; the half-japanese, half-american big-hearted blonde, Miyauchi Lemmy; the glasses-wearing, kansai dialect-speaking, strict member of the disciplinary committee Hoshina Tomoko; and of course, our ultimate oshi above anyone else… the legendary robot-maid, HMX-12 Type Multi!! Multiiii!! You're too cute!! You're definitely, absolutely number one!! Our eternal wife…!! (´Д`)pant… pant… There's good reason why everyone still loves multi to this day! At a first glance, Multi appears to be a perfect maid robot, but she does make mistakes now and then… being a maid robot is not easy. New, more efficient models that are better at her job than her are always being released too… Even though it's so hard to keep up with technological advances, Multi is always giving her absolute best, striving to grow and improve, and always with a smile, no matter what!! How could you not fall in love with her~? We're incredibly happy that this remake will allow many new players to experience the wonderful world of ToHeart!! You can play it on Nintendo Switch and Steam, and it's available not only in Japanese, but English and Chinese too, and at a very affordable price…! At first we were a bit worried, "is it ok to have full 3D and HD graphics at such a low price!?", but if it means a lot more people get to fall in love with ToHeart, then it's a good thing!! We hope ToHeart will reach the hearts of lots of people all around the world, please give it a try! And beyond that, not only our long dream of an english version of ToHeart came true, but AQUAPLUS asked us to cover ToHeart's opening theme, Feeling Heart!! A song we've been listened to since we were little demon dogs! We put all of our hearts into singing it and gave our all! The music video also faithfully recreates scenes from the original opening from back in the day, so we'd be happy if you could check it out on our YouTube channel! We still can't believe this is real… The 7th year of the Reiwa period is just too amazing!! We want to continue spreading our love for visual novels to the world, and we'll keep doing our best in various different ways for that end! BAU BAU!! >RECENTLY LEARNED JAPANESE: 洞窟 In offline meetings, we like going to Sega's indoors amusement park, "Tokyo Joypolis"! There are many fun attractions and cute collabs there, it's a lot of fun! We went there with Myth's Calli-senpai, and our genmates from Advent Nerissa, Shiori and Bijou, all together as Hololive English members! More recently we were there with Elizabeth from Hololive English -Justice- and our genmate Nerissa. There's a very accurate fortune telling attraction there called "Fortune Forest" that gets us all fired up! It's accurate to the level that years later you'll find yourself shocked, thinking "that fortune telling… actually came true!" There's a mysterious room in there called "Fenrir's Cave"… Only the two chosen ones may enter the room while holding hands. Everyone gets so excited about it, it awakens our gamer souls! If you go there, definitely check out the Fortune Forest and try to challenge Fenrir's Cave with a lover or a friend! Recently, while we were talking to Okayu-senpai and Fubuki-senpai, the word "cave" came up, and we were able to remember it because of Fenrir's Cave! It made us really happy! We hope to keep learning more and more japense through our daily adventures~!
3rd issue >FUWAMOCOの爆誕☆BAUBAU だいあり~! >THIRD ISSUE: Kept you waiting, huh? BAU BAU! BAU BAUー!! From Hololive English -Advent-, the twin demon guard dog sisters, together we're FUWAMOCO! We're VTubers mainly active on YouTube. We play visual novels and retro games on original hardware, we stream a morning show, sing nostalgic japanese songs in karaoke, and do lots of other things too! Fuwawa is a dependable older sister who is good at retorts, and Mococo is a younger sister who loves being tricky and getting spoiled! We grew up as Demon Dogs in the Northwest Passage, in the Makai, so japanese isn't our native language, but we're currently living in Japan! Recently, we've finally played a legendary game series we've always been curious about… the "Metal Gear Solid" series! We were so happy that we were able to get the original PS1 version of Metal Gear Solid, and the PS2 versions of MGS2: Sons of Liberty and MGS3: Snake Eater and played them all together with the ruffians! It's a very different style of world building compared to the visual novels we usually play - with sabotage, nuclear weapons and, above all, stealth! It's so much fun that we were quickly hooked!! In this series, as the protagonist "Snake", properly using stealth is a super key point in order to succeed in your missions. If you can do it well, you can proceed undetected by enemies, and avert the nuclear crisis. But somehow, we took stealth to a new, extreme level… it was possibly the least stealthy playthrough ever done! (cry) But, buuut! Moco-chan (who is usually in charge of playing) was hitting lots of shots with the tranquilizer gun, and her accuracy with the shotgun was even more impressive! Also, that one famous cardboard box was extremely helpful… is what we'd like to say, but in truth we just thought seeing Snake crawling around in the box was really cute so we kept wanting to see it, that was about the only reason we had to use it. We want to crawl around in a cardboard box too! The "Metal Gear Solid" series has a very serious and deep story, but there are still lots of really funny moments, and many easter eggs too, so it's always very exciting to play all the way through! We had a blast making the usually stoic Snake do silly things, like making him fall down the stairs over and over again, it was so much fun~. Even in the original PS2 version, the animations were SOOO smooth that just watching him go up and down the stairs was already immensely fun! The Snake who is usually so strong, who is a stealth pro… We laughed so much that we almost cried! That's just gap moe! Another unforgettable thing about Metal Gear Solid are the moments when the fourth wall between game and player is broken! In those moments, it feels like an electric shock is going through our bodies! Especially in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, when the Colonel started talking nonsense to Raiden, the other protagonist in "2"… The Colonel who was always a trustworthy presence throughout the game suddenly saying those things, it was so creepy! When he then commanded us to "stop the game", Fuwawa actually got up and cut the electricity from the PS2! It was so embarrassing… I just wanted Raiden to go to a reality where he had clothes… The boss fight against Psycho Mantis, from the first game was also amazing… in order to defeat him, you had to switch the controller to a different port, so he couldn't "read your mind" (input reading), so he couldn't tell what your next move was! That was honestly shocking! It felt like a next level gaming experience! A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 called "Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater" was just released this August too, so we hope that just like us, many new players get to experience the world of Metal Gear Solid for the first time! Every time you play, there are so many new things to find and explore, and many different challenges, you can enjoy it in different ways each time you play it. We get excited just imagining all the new players finding this legendary game. We want to continue with the series too… Playing with the ruffians and them telling us tips and giving us hints is always so much fun! For the next time, we want to play together with Papa Puppy! Papa Puppy loves this kind of military themed games and stories, and also he looks exactly like Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots! We said it before too, but with the Remake of 3 having just recently released, we'd like if everyone could try playing MGS3 too! At the very least, you have to surpass our "Iguana" Ranking! And don't forget, we're not iguanas, we're FUWAMOCO~!! BAU BAU!! >RECENTLY LEARNED JAPANESE: 四つん這い The other day, we were with Laplus-senpai from the Secret Society holoX and our genmate and good friend Nerissa Ravencroft helping out with their off-collab! But you see, it was no ordinary off-collab…! At the start of summer, Laplus-senpai told us in secret: "I love Nerissa so much, I want her to humiliate me…" There was no other choice than to do our absolute best to make that dream come true! And so, in that off-collab, Laplus-senpai gave Nerissa a lesson on important (?) japanese, such as "pig", "useless", and "embarrassing". Among those, one of the words that came up was "crawling on all fours"! Using an ASMR mic, Nerissa called Laplus-senpai "a dog" and "pathetic child", and senpai then got on all fours and kissed Nerissa's boots like a sad puppy… You'll definitely never forget any japanese learned in such a lesson! Hololive… always exceeds our imaginations, doesn't it! BAU BAU!
