F-List unfortunately is the best option until someone either makes a site that works as a containment / vacuum for the undesirables (which would be hard to manage), or another site pops in that doesn't enable the typical shitter behavior that morphed F-List into the extreme-chasing, trend-chasing, set-and-forget cesspit it is today.
>View Counts
>Automatic Ads
>Prime Names (being a thing at all)
>Unlimited Profiles (F-List jannies still mostly allowing multiple accounts)
Much of the changes it would take to disable this behavior on a "better" site might be wild changes from what's comfortable on F-List, but that's what it will take. Probably higher effort too, which is why no alternatives really pop up or take off, because ultimately people flock to what's the lowest effort (hence the automatic ad meta).
Just to toss out ideas, some of which sound constraining / shitty but they're necessary for improvements:
>Profiles are tagged. Either the user can make / select a limited amount of tags, or they're from a pool of the site's tags
Yes, kinks function the same way but people don't treat them as tags and they're unlimited in quantity, so they're practically null for that purpose. These would function differently since no one is looking for [anime show] as custom tags for example. And they have to be limited in quantity to prevent tag spamming / mis-tagging (think someone having an obviously modern character but they tag fantasy for their alt universe they do sometimes).
>The profile's unique identifier is in the url, not a prime name
This puts a bottleneck on profile hoarding and trend chasing with no incentive to chase prime names
>Private / User-made rooms in chat can be set to "apply to enter"
Just to make up an example, you make a room "Fat Chicks x Buff Dudes", there could be a one click 'I want to enter this room' for the room creator to verify it is indeed a fat chick or a buff dude. This is a side option to help thin out the instances of room before for [thing] and then the users in the sidebar are [not thing].
>Make ads their own collapsible panel in chat except within chat, and make ads auto-appear when the user logs in
This eliminates the effectiveness of spamming automatic ads, removes the need for others to in order to stay visible, makes it easier than setting up a 3rd party bot in the first place, and frees up rooms for chat.
>Actively moderate against gooners / meta kinks and cybersex
This would take some gatekeeping on the part of the admins or at least the branding and a little extra work. But hey, we can dream right?
But until that day arrives, sadly, the best option is find whatever unicorn partners you can, cherish them, and go off-site with them before they burn out. I've seen it time and time again that F-List exhausts, burns out, or leaves users jaded.

>vapid two-lining MMO roleplay
Believe it or not, MMOs do have para+ roleplayers that just put up with the tiny chat box.
