As someone who hates human-to-human DM/GM play, it's pretty good at handling games and RPG scenarios when I'm in the mood for that. Element of control since I can just forcibly rewrite it back on track if I have to. Ability to say/do whatever without fear of scrutiny (this goes for both sides, I have never been randomly gored my a human roleplayer and would never do it to a person I don't want to chase off). Speed. Ability for guys, especially, to actually be and stay dominant instead of projecting an image of raw overpowering sleazy masculinity on the profile to attract bitches (I'm bitches) and then being completely normal when the scene actually starts rolling. Ability to playtest the voice of characters I might make on F-List or write ones that can't get play there without judgement/scrutiny/commitment. I have to stick pretty much strictly to OC cards because canons are never played quite right unless I do it myself via user persona. At least an F-List wikipaster can usually energy match a character or make up for it in other ways, the bot always feels wrong if not at the start then certainly by the time sex starts. No matter the LLM or the parameters, pattern recognition always catches up to me and I start hating the writing and its habits and its pet turns of phrase after I consume too much of it. I'm too lazy to manipulate chat memory and other tricks to keep things going for longer than maybe 50-100 messages. I can't even remember the last time I hit that many in a single chat not counting rerolls, anyway. I like watching human partners' writing quality degrade as they get closer to cumming and eventually are trying to force out smut past a wall of post-nut clarity until they inevitably give up. Helps that I'm the type that ramps up in intensity as I get hornier, which usually lines up with me preferring to play characters who are in control. This is markedly less fun when it's a malfunctioning bot.

AIERPing is like a video game. It's like comparing going out with your friends to play paintball vs sitting down to run a few rounds of Counter-Strike. Very different experiences. Things I prefer with AIERP >Ability to do any kink or character whatsoever >Customize my partner exactly how I want them >No need to worry about prose quality >Ability to start, stop, pickup, and rewrite roleplay whenever desired >Not having to go hunting for another to ERP with >Not worrying about making another cringe The downsides, of which there are many, all stem from not talking to a real human. The AI rarely steers the story forward (unless you have written an outline previously) and the prose always degrades to the same grey Play-Doh internet monoguy mush regardless how hard you wrangle it to a specific style. And of course, the writing is never as good as even a middling human partner can be. It can be a lot more professional, but rarely as raunchy or intimate -- I've only had a few "holyyy fffuck" moments (you know what I mean~) with AIERP opposed to at least 30% percent of human partners. It will never push your buttons, test your kinks, just reflect exactly what you've asked back at you. Most of these aren't true problems because AIERP and real ERP serve different purposes, I think they can complement each other rather than replace.

Don't have an image to attach but since I mostly have to do shit on my phone, I use ch.ai which is nice, but as a free user it's rough. 20 post memory limit, frequent ads that require me to click on some part of them no matter what, and the various characters having samey personalities is annoying. That and when I try to introduce anything with kink the characters throw a shitfit and literally try to force scat? I'm open to other suggestions that are free and don't censor ERP and lewd content. Especially since having stories of any length is near impossible due to aforementioned limitations.

Anybody have any fav cards or models? In my experience, most character cards are poorly designed and don't work well.

Also some creators disable proxying because doing so forces them to make the card's parameters public, but they're few and far between. As far as LLMs, DeepSeek is the only one I've ever used that worked out of the box for smut with no jailbreaks, but the free models through OR are overloaded almost every time of day now. Gemini is/was awesome but had to be dragged through smut kicking and screaming even with jailbreaks and I ended up with three banned burners for doing normal smut. 4anons that aren't just running local models seem to use Chub, whose site LLM is iirc fully unfiltered (read: cunny friendly) and comes in free and paid variants, but the average card quality was too low for me to spend much time there. YMMV depending on your tolerance for ESL word salad while you wait for the LLM to bridge the quality gap and/or need for extreme kink.
