this thread will be me trying to research and create a real cognito hazard or something as close to it as I can. I want it to be fairly compact (so at most a video like in, "The Ring") yet deliver profound and long-lasting effects when processed by the mind. Right now, I can think of a few things, like the effects of stimuli (colour pshyology, Bouba/kiki effect, infrasound ghost frequency uncanney valley effect) and actual messages/ideas like in memetics or general psychology stuff. This is all my own uneducated understanding. will think about it more and post what i thought of.
curious as to what insights can be gained from psychedelic experiences, especially the visuals, but also ideas like "the waiting room" and similar archetypes found in dmt. are they useful mechanisms outside of the trip?

basic concept, should be harmless, mostly because i am not at that level yet but also I wouldnt post such a thing lightly. uses self reference effect for memory and attention, angular and red background for arousal/threat detection, left-right eye movement for encoding inspired by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_movement_desensitization_and_reprocessing words are blue which could create contrast and further attention drawing, but also calmness
>>15480 also further willing engagement creates subconscious consent or the implication/presupposition of it (the manual eye movement)
(844.90 KB 2000x1333 test2.jpg)

>>15480 added impossible shape, may bolster
>>15480 >>15481 spoiler that shit next time. It may have affected me while I was trying to hide it
>>15483 I am not that good, I knew it wouldnt effect anyone because I had no real intended effect. or could the ambiguity itself be a mechanism? sorry if it did anything though
>>15484 It was probably a placebo caused by the tension of trying to hide it without seeing it. I disassociated then noticed strong tingling in my eyeballs.
>>15485 yeah, that gives me ideas too, using ambiguity. excuse to be lazy as well lol
>Look at my image! <No This is too easy to counter. Make some sexy ladies with mind breaking images attached to their body parts.
>>15504 >Post porn No. In theory the image would be presented to someone unaware of its nature. Curiousity and the design itself create interaction
(57.49 KB 720x456 chad esoteric meme.jpg)

>>15596 Wanting to make a chad esoteric meme eh?
>>15715 I want to compress and deliver as much data as possible via the internet in the form of a short video or image that has such an effect that someone familiar with the scp wiki would consider it a cognito hazard. delivered to the human mind, that is.
>>15504 Isn't porn already full of sigils? >>15735 You're trying to make a blipvert for soap?
>>15596 >>15736 I meant sexy ladies like pin-up girls and not hardcore pornography. You pervs Something that makes people notice and stick their gaze to it. Like that rumor how some ads have subliminal messages related to sex in it. It makes people focus on it by instinct. >Isn't porn already full of sigils? Depends what porn you watch >You're trying to make a blipvert for soap? Heh

>>15742 >subliminal messages related to sex We have them right here in the banners. it's cropped hentai
>>15746 The subliminal here is an interjection on the topic >are traps gay? with the answer neatly "tucked away": No. This is a trap being jerked off by a girl, so it's a straight trap. I bet you didn't see that one coming.
(107.55 KB 561x713 conjure pornography.jpg)

>>15746 The aqua banner was part of the anime too, which was turned into a hentai later. There is nothing wrong with that. And clothed self-cest? Quite tame compared to most porn crops.Oh wait. Genderswap self-cest. Truly encompasses what it means to unify the divine male and the divine female.

psychological insights from "Night Movements" translated by C. Burnett
another thing i found interesting was reading someones post that looked like they had brain damage, and then wondering if i was having a stroke until i carefully went over it and confirmed it was incoherent (also others voiced the same response).
>>16386 Can you post an example?
>>16387 I dont have the post right now but its basically all messed up grammar and words in the wrong order to the point that you can tell something is wrong yet still recognise some coherent direction or point.
(351.28 KB 802x622 gigi.png)

>>16389 (me) sorry, spoke to soon, only just remembered i can check my replies. i do admit you may have to be predisposed to paranoia or have some anxiety
>>16390 He is either ESL or suffers from a heavy dose of vtuber brainrot, but I understand your point. There are actual ways you can word sentences they can cause hypnosis or other adverse effects for the reader, but I heard about those tricks very long ago. I forgot how they worked. >i do admit you may have to be predisposed to paranoia or have some anxiety Probably

Not exactly a hazard, the only risk is if you are a highly specific person and even then it is not designed to do anything that bad. spoiler because of previous interaction
>>17842 Who was this made for?
>>17966 Let's all stare at it together and find out. Whoever gets fucked up first is the target.
>>17970 Dunno I looked at it this morning and nothing seemed to happen to me.
(3.86 MB 3666x3127 winning concept.png)

>>17966 just shitposting stuff
i realise that at some point this topic crosses over into sigils and chaos magic. quantum mechanics may be a viable resource
>>17842 potential alt: link the black up to the red so that it forms a downward v for threat detection. i wonder if the subconscious draws its own v though since the dots are already in the right place
I dont remember if this is the one but there is a picture perfect info hazard example in the SCP verse where knowing about it makes it reality for you. potential trigger warning if you are scared of death/suffering https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOBku4gkMfY
>>18227 actually, this could be like a basilisk that pushes for the creation of physical immortality
Just a recent insight note. I was looking at the carpet absently and saw an image relevant to recent personal happenings, and then I tried to change it by thinkink of other things because I have done this before, I think it's called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia
