Not sure if it belongs here since this game removed all character and weapon gacha mechanics but I feel like the people of this board would still like it. Game plays like if an open world gacha like Genshin or Wuthering Waves had a baby with Warframe and this is the result. Tried the patch today and the doomposting seems completely overblown. The graphics look a lot better like they really overhauled their graphics engine and it shows. A lot of existing stages look a lot better too so now they have to apply that amount of effort to unfucking the performance or optimizing shit and the game should be great.
Game needs to lean harder into being a Warframe clone. I'll copy my meta thread post I know it's not gacha anymore, but Duet Night Abyss really disappointed me. Maybe Warframe spoiled me, but it's like they half copied Warframes movement. You're so slow and there's no momentum. Then there is the skill system. You have a passive, a skill 1 and a skill 2. This is a trend in gacha in general, the tiny skill selection despite phones have technically infinite potential inputs. 2 active skills is barren and yet again Warframe does it better with 4 skills and a passive. Not only that, Warframe has skills that synergize within a kit and even skills that can have modal effects. I wanted Warframe with sexy anime girls, and cunny, and I got Boreframe instead. Thank you for reading. I'll keep up with the game. I am sure they are aware of the games issues and I was a day one player for Warframe, it took a decade for Warframe to get to it's state. My biggest hope is a movement system rework.

I think right now the base of the game is solid and really good so they just need to work on it, problem is that people keep comparing Warframe which had 13 years of non-stop development vs this that barely had like 2 months of dev time? I think right now there's a lot of things they get better than warframe like the cute characters, the anime setting, the fact that you can actually follow and get 100% of the story instead of 10% like warframe or having a set schedule of events and updates unlike warframe. If a year passes and the game is still in a garbage state then yeah but if a year passes and there's substantial improvements between launch and 1st anni then we'll know they actually care.

Warframe's biggest problem for me was the lack of updates and lack of objectives. Once you finish the story (Which is impossible to follow for anyone starting in the last few years) then there's nothing really to do other than farm plat, max out frames for the hell of it or fashionframe since the update schedule for the game is really bad and the event schedule is worse. It's also really hard to get attached to frames since they're robots unless you pay and get something that looks straight out of Overwatch. In DNA it's easier to feel attached to a cute girl that hits my sensibilities and I feel more motivated to max her out. The devs have a set event schedule and update schedule too so I always know whens the next update or what's coming next which gives me something to look forward to and the people that play the game are also more aligned to my own personal tastes so discussion about the game is more fun than attempting to have warframe discussion with other people.

But what people meant all along was a few DPS abilities and a bunch of situational, specialized abilities to manage different scenarios, like it was up to Wrath. The other problem with that is that Blizzard ogrenigger goblinfaggots devs turned the game into a speedrun Esport game with a stock market attached to its side like a tumor, so even if they did return situational abilities to the game, when would people ever use them? The game just isn't designed for that kind of gameplay from the first foundational mechanics of it anymore. anyway, I guess I was just being autistic about WoW not actually having a bunch of buttons anymore, doesn't really have anything to do with DNA I think if there's a lack of variety right now it's mostly because of 2 things, first the lack of weapon power forces people to play skills, and second the 1 DPS 2 AI Supports structure is just extremely lame and makes it so only some characters are actually viable at all in multiplayer Say for example I get Fushu to i6, I get +220% Additional Damage on melee swings... of what? 10k Whipsword slashes? Granted, Whipswords don't have any attack style wedges right now, which make a huge difference in base multipliers, but I don't see that ever being relevant when a mid Psyche build hits 200k per bullet any character who actually uses weapons is only strong because they use a consonance weapon

I think this just comes down to preference, I love a decent chunk of frames and hate their protos. Hildryn was the only frame I bought the day they released and she's been a solid 70% of my play time until I got Lavos. In DNA the only character I care about so far is Lisbell because she's the only one I've had fun playing. I like Vita, I use Nifle mostly for getting through Maze, and I just suffer grinding up the rest of the meta girls because I need to for theater Right now I think I like the idea of DNA more than actually playing it but I'm cautiously optimistic about the future. I'll keep playing just for the story if nothing else

I really like the concept of the game, I like the idea and I like what the developers want to do but the game feels really rough at the moment. Seems linux has gotten a bit of work done on it. https://dawn.wine/dawn-winery/dwproton/releases/tag/dwproton-10.0-11 Using this plus some winetricks fuckery with dotnet48 and using the winedlloverride in lutris dcomp=d also fixes the bulletin board being fucked up. Intel cpu fags no longer need to despair since all linuxbros should be able to use this to play the game.
