I remember reading the bleach manga back in the day. I think it was when the anime aired and I felt like something was off because what was being said was different to what I read. When I checked the raws and compared them to the "translation" by the group everyone was using at the time I noticed they were completely different. Then I went back and checked more chapters only to confirm to my horror that the "translation" barely matched what was being said for nearly 80 chapters by the same group. I could only imagine the person translating had not a single clue what was going on and just looked at the pictures and wrote what he thought made sense. That's the point where I completely gave up on translations. The JP text in wuwa has some funny spots but it's quite good for the most part. I've never played in English but when I see videos in English I'm constantly surprised at all the seemingly weird shit I see and hear. The other day I realized Miya is Mya in the english version which seemed like a really goofy choice to me. I saw a post complaining about the TL so I typed this out.
