>Lycaon, be careful around Hugo—he was raised among evil, and it has taken root within him
>lol no it actually hasn't, he's a good guy
That was more on Hugo thinking Lycaon believed him and Lycaon never telling him what he actually thought.
>I will bloody my hands for the sake of my ideals and justice
>lol no he literally never did
>Hugo is a murderer responsible for the death of his father and siblings
>LMFAO NO HE ACTUALLY ISN'T
The point of it was he actually was responsible despite not actually landing the final blow himself since he thought he did. He says the same thing to be more obvious about it. None of what happened would have happened had he not gone through with his attack on his family including Lycaon's legs.
>I won't take revenge on a single person who made my life the utter hell it once was because, uh, I don't really care anymore
That was a bit weak admittedly, they were going for a whole thing where he still holds on to his beliefs but he's not driven by revenge anymore which ties in with the main problem I think most people have a problem with.
>fake death, it was keikaku doori btw
>extremely hamfisted "inner self" showdown that's literally just "Have you ever tried going completely fucking crazy? You should try it." "Mmmmmm, no."
This, a result of his arc being rushed for some inexplicable reason. Although I liked it it was significantly fucked over by I guess the removal of TV and the abrupt change in direction. Same with Vivian really. Which is a shame because the chapter starts out really fun and engaging.
>wasn't even actually responsible for Lycaon's crippling, and Lycaon doesn't hold it against him in the slightest
I think that's more of a Lycaon thing of him growing as a person and not at all Hugo's hand in it. I feel like one day we'll get to see this event and how it all went down when we get Lycaon's alter down the road. There's a secret low spawn rate trust event where you can eavesdrop on the two of them talking. Hugo clearly still blames himself for that incident but Lycaon doesn't hold i t against him for reasons he partly explained in full during the chapter.
