So thread engagement was brought up last thread. I'm tired, so I'll suffice to say: I talk about whatever I feel up to. Doesn't work with everything, but it's less about engaging frequently, more about engaging on my own terms. That's why I only browse 8chan when I feel like it. Also, it's difficult to engage meaningfully when there are thousands of other things I could be doing with my time. Social media is very low on the list.

>>1251124 i never used seeds but it seems like the opposite of what you'd want in a roguelike mode. probably good for people who dont really like IS and just wanna farm stuff though
>>1251147 there was a good one where cannot let you feed him 30+ ingots at the first shop, that was the only one i really used. they're not terrible for "oh, that run was super close but i fucked up at one spot and lost it, let me try again" too
I did it Akg! I managed to defeat the final boss with the team you chose in the last thread! Some higlights: >Medicmiya helped dealing with the props >Lee's ability to nope out of stun was great at stalling the boss >Harold barely managed to keep the nervous impairment at bay >Ling's dragon where too costly to deploy >With her absymal attack speed, Harmonie couldn't break the camera's shield on time without external help All in all, it was quite fun. I may try /akg/nights again in the future.
>>1251260 nice, one funny thing i noticed about this boss is that he always targets the last deployed op and doesnt have any melee attacks. so you could put someone somewhere else entirely while he's blocked to bait attacks and your blocker wont even need a healer to stay alive

I keep forgetting that the op needs to be in the filming area for the extras to get blocked. Like, in my mind they should get blocked if only they are on the area too.
>tfw you tried quite a few different times to get into the endfield beta and despite being such a long time arknights player you failed every time modern beta tests are so dumb they used to just cram in as many people as possible in a public test
>>1252117 i made this same mistake with the boss at first but it ended up working out since he kills everyone in the filming area anyway during his second phase
Rolling for id
>>1252119 same boat
>>1252130 >he kills everyone in the filming area anyway during his second phase ... good to know. I'm just on node 3 right now. So do you really just have to retreat all your camera ops between phases or is there another trick to it? And I'm guessing DoT + Slow like with Asky are great against the unblockables.
>>1252163 you could just deploy someone to turn the camera away or kill the boss before he does anything. as for the unblockables, i didn't have any issues with the camera placements so i just blocked them but anything can kill them. I'm sure they'll be annoying in the EX stages
>>1252154 let us have a no beta meeting together in the elevator
>>1252119 beta tests are no longer about getting real users to experience the game and report bugs, they are about exclusivity, exposure and profit if you aren't a streamer with 500+ regular viewers to shill the game you shouldn't have even bothered IIRC they even asked about your streamer history in the survey to filter out the plebeians
>>1252130 >Didn't even know. >Easily beat him anyway. The benefits of going full unga bunga ignoring the gimmick I guess.
>>1252228 so the future of beta testing is either being a cute vtuber or pretending to be a cute vtuber and the devs pretend to fix their game all in the name of hype? its over for the human race
As someone who hasn't done IS2, let me see if I'm getting this right: the Crimson Troupe is a roving band of assassins disguised as an actual troupe, they use a lot of acting euphemisms to talk about murder and they basically only recruit random orphans. Am I missing anything? What's Phantom's and Shalem's deal?
>>1252119 You made me sign up just now out of pity. I have zero interest in Endfield, if I get anything I'm tossing it here
>>1252186 is the making out mandatory?
>>1252270 you're not too off the mark, they get groomed into enacting the sick deadly fantasies of the Troupe Leader >What's Phantom's and Shalem's deal? as seen in the current event, they were orphans adopted into the Troupe that attempted to escape after a trick that would've ostensibly killed them if not for (i think) the Playwright's "last minute adjustments". Shalem escaped while Phantom stayed to destroy the troupe from the inside. Phantom kills most of the troupe members and mentors, but fails to kill the leader Tragodia since the latter saw it coming and enjoying death is his whole thing. The canonical IS2 ending happens ostensibly before this event when Shalem rescues Phantom after a botched attempt to kill Tragodia, something that he accomplishes in this event.
>>1252194 Cute zebra
>Fade to black And here I was all in on Michael dying next, did he really go Columbian Psycho on his girl? Honestly, this is actually pretty good as a murder mystery. Everyone sounds guilty as fuck and someone dies on practically every node. >>1252311 >they get groomed into enacting the sick deadly fantasies of the Troupe Leader I would make a joke about not knowing if he's a groomer because he's french or because he's in the showbiz, but he's a proper vickie isn't he? And only Phantom is gaulish. I used to think the whole troupe was from Gaul and that they did what they did for revenge after their country fell, but an earlier node clearly stated that they were Victoria's Crimson Troupe.
Also don't they dare kill Molly too. Or else.
Bwo, think of the bwos who haven't caught up to you yet...
Anon blease... sboilers...
>Cinema event >Story doesn't involve the movie nutjob in any way or form I think it's a bit of wasted potential. Like Haze not being part of Mansifeld Prison >>1249907 I don't like Tippy's design, and Tragodia didn't come home, but I liked the event mechanics. Can't wait for the EX-Stages to make me hate them. Now that I have proper themed forniture, I'll have to check the "cinema set" dormitory, see if I can make it prettier. Overall I give this event a Good/10. >>1251128 She would be more interested in staying in her room, waiting for someone to bring her food. And it better be high quality food.
>>1252407 >>1252411 ... I could swear I spoilered that one. Least I can do is nuke it. So le's change topics: is she any good?
>>1252381 >I would make a joke about not knowing if he's a groomer because he's french or because he's in the showbiz I used "grooming" with the word's meaning of raising/training someone for a particular purpose, with the connotation that it's not being done with the trainee's best interests at heart. >And only Phantom is gaulish. I used to think the whole troupe was from Gaul I think Tragodia is, or was, the only remaining living Gaul we know of. Phantom knows French and acts like one probably out of the false reality Tragodia fed him. Other gauls I know of were Lettou and the old senile veteran in that main story node.
>>1252427 she's fun to stack on top of tragodia's cat bomb and she's good for blowing up the lighting props in the event but otherwise nyot really...
>>1252421 Adorable coon
>>1252427 She's a cat. You can have a cat as an Operator. You can deploy her, and she'll be there, as a cat. You can have a cat in your base... she has a reasonable base skill if you pair her with Phantom2... She's a cat... she's nyot vyery gyood...
>>1252437 >I used "grooming" with the word's meaning of raising/training someone for a particular purpose I know. And I'd still use the other connotation for someone who looks like this and recruits little boys from war zones and whatever else. >the only remaining living Gaul we know of. Well, we have plenty others. Golding, for one, was gaulish too. I remember she talked about it with Lettou. Also some second generation gaulish like Astesia/Astgenne and Mousse.
>>1252459 Troupe Leader is a Groomer in every sense of the word Also if I had a nickel every time HG released a male villain with fabulous long fuchsia curls, I'd have two nickels, Which isn't a lot, but it's uncanny it happened twice
>>1252452 >she's nyot vyery gyood... Ah, tje curse of the welfare. Haven't had a truly good welfare since, what, Underpipi? And I did raise CrownSlayer because I like her, but I wouldn't call her good even if she now has permastun. >>1252442 Oh well. I'm not planning on rolling for Tragodia either. Actually, I don't even know who I'm gonna roll for next. I don't particularly care about AveMu either, so I guess there's Hoshialt?
>>1252464 And they're both murderous sick fucks. Around reds, never relax. Around a pink, be ready for anything.
>>1252309 yes its mandatory
>>1252478 god, fine
>>1252466 >Haven't had a truly good welfare since, what, Underpipi? Lumen's pretty good. We also got Kroosalt, Bena, Underflow, CEresa, Tin Man, Rose Salt... The thing is that, save for specific applications, these are mostly good for newer players who don't have or didn't raise the "ol reliable" example for the archetype yet.
>>1252508 Underpipi probably refers to Underflow from Path of Life, only Rose Salt is newer since. We're getting Raidian next month though, so there's that too

Ok /akg/, since the theme of the current event is cinema, what are your favourite movies? what do you like about them?
>>1256697 favorite movie of all time: probably Pricness Mononoke lots of childhood memories associated with it and i just like the overall vibe of it also Ashitaka is probably the coolest Ghibli protagonist and lady Eboshi is the hottest antagonist i also enjoyed Interstellar and The Shoe of Manitu a lot
>>1256697 Ratatouille probably. Just so goddamn uplifting I cant help but walk out in a good mood. Dirty Harry is close second. Just the right balance of clint eastwood being a badass, crime thriller, and a strong message about the limits of police
>>1256697 My brain sadly doesn't work properly and I literally can't remember... (ーдー)
>>1256261 This anon didn't get his reservation in Dorsia.
>>1256697 I rewatch Blade Runner and Ghost in The Shell every other year. I just really, really like cyberpunk.
>>1256589 I really like this Draco
(92.96 KB 258x326 1698389298080312.png)

>>1256894 Old Blade Runner or new?
>>1256697 >Predator (1987) The perfect action/horror movie. I am not looking forward to seeing the modern movies 'characterize' the Predators and turn it all into an endless franchise. >Interstellar I love hopeful, optimistic sci-fi with themes about human connection >Blair Witch Project The first and best found footage film. Maybe the only good one :( Writing this made me realize that most of my other top favorites are horror or action movies so I decided to keep it short. You gotta tell us yours too bro.
>>1257020 OG. I watched the new one in theaters and kinda liked it, but I still prefer the first one.
>>1257059 >You gotta tell us yours too bro Fair enough, I always drop a question without giving my answer first, do I? I have to change that. >Terminator 2 The choice of starring the "evil monster" of the first movie as the protagonist is great, because the audience already knows what it's capable of. Then setting it against something so powerful and inexorable that its only choice is to run and buy time makes the story unpredictable until the end. >The good, the bad, the ugly The final scene is a masterpiece. From the score, to the characters, to how it plays out, it all fits so well togheter that I have to rewatch it every now and then. >Lights out It's here becaue it's one of the few horror movies where the monster is actively hostile and the protagonists at least try to stay alive. >The Thing The original one, not the remake. Good special effects, and the tension was palpable through the entire movie. >>1256894 Hey, I am a fan of cyberpunk too! Sadly the genre doesn't have many movies, I usually read the books. Someday, when Hollywood gets tired of rehashing the same franchises, maybe they can adapt Neuromancer.
>>1257116 >maybe they can adapt Neuromancer. It's funny, because I've been a fan of the genre for over a decade but only got around to reading Neuromancer last year. How's the rest of the Sprawl trilogy?
>>1256697 >all of the Riddick movies they're passable, not great, but it's fun watching vin diesel have so much fun with the role even if he falls really flat on delivering some of his one liners. >RoboCop/Starship Troopers/Total Recall paul verhoven might have had some stupid ideas about what starship troopers was about but he made some real fun movies >Die Hard no notes perfect christmas movie
(152.33 KB 1254x2048 G56FucUaoAI2AfN.jpg)

>>1257180 They are good, but not as good as Neuromancer. Still, worth reading. I appreciate that they add to the worldbuilding of Neuromancer even if they are almost separate stories. Since you're a fan of the genre, can I ask for some book recommendations? In the meantime, good night doctors, see you tomorrow
>>1256697 I don't watch a lot of movies, but probably something like >The Revenant Slow but exciting revenge story >Oh brother where art thou Very funny adaption of one of my favorite written works >Blade Insane style and lines dropped all over this movie >Sinners Being from the south and liking vampires just makes this one a classic to me. >Romeo+juliet An adaption that elevates the original work by leaning into absurdity.
>>1257237 >book recommendations? I'm not big on books, that's why it took me so long to read Neuromancer. I'm more into weebshit, Ghost in The Shell and Gunnm being some of my favorites, but I also have a soft spot for schlock like Psycho Pass. Also good night, Doc.

>>1256697 I don't make a habit of rewatching stuff, but I'm always down for The Emperor's New Groove. Honestly a lot of the late Millennial/early Zoomer animated Disney stuff is pretty good before they fell off a cliff.
>>1258123 Retardknights is a way of life. This morning I woke up super early, before the reset even. I looked at my Reception Room, got the 210 credits from my clue party and proceeded to not use them. Only realized what I did some 30 minutes later, AFTER the reset.
Being this dumb takes a lot of energy, and now I'm tired. Good night /akg/. (Burning all pots took about 50 minutes btw)
>>1256697 I like watching movies and always let my friends talk me into spending hundreds at the local international film festival but I'm a shit critique. I'm easily entertained. My head is empty. I don't have a favorite. For some memorable stuff I remember seeing: >RRR First watched it on the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death. Of all the overpowered ops in the game I think Tragodia and Ela are the only two I'd label enviably so instead of being dull, singularly applicable, or faux innovative.
>do full emergency SSS >fail to unlock skip tickets because I forgot about having to not bring a support again >decide to do stage 1 runs and quit to get the mats from recruiting casters mid-run >"you have unlocked total authority" >check it out of curiosity >it still gives me credit for a full run because it calculates rewards out of the deepest floor ever cleared I don't think this is intended but I'm not complaining.
>>1256697 >The Sword In The Stone Of the classic animated films I was shown as a kid, this is one that struck with me the most, even though it is a straight forward plot with no real surprises or twists. I think it's the art style, presentation and well crafted atmosphere what made it memorable for me. >The Cabin In The Woods This is probably the best attempt at smashing the conventions of the horror genre and still making something memorable out of the shards that I've ever seen. >The Day Of The Beast Probably the only local film I'd recommend. Imagine a sympathetic Federico committing sins and crimes nonstop in 90s Madrid in order to sell his soul to the devil and join the coven overseeing the birth of the Antichrist so that he can kill it and save mankind.

This feels like a straight up "eat shit" button, should I just block the guy with the tankiest op I can find I hope it works?
>>1261918 he doesnt have melee attacks and he'll always attack the last deployed, his range is also huge so a good bait unit and some good healing will help. you can block him with whoever
>>1261923 Oh, so that's why he was killing Red (Dedicated camera operator, not blocking him). I wonder if Crownslayer's Invis would help here, maybe she should be the camera operator.
>>1261932 if you're going to use an invis op you might as well use manticore or lunacub, since they're conditionally permanently invisible
>>1261942 lunacub would probably still get exploded by the cameras or some aoe the boss does since she gets camo and not invisibility
>>1261953 cameras don't explode if you kill them fast enough, and the AOE the boss does himself is based on nervous impairment triggering on someone and only hits the adjacent 4 or 8 squares depending on his phase
>>1261697 Hey, I asked the schizo god if I should level tragodia and the answer was yes. So at the very least I can make him work in the factories as well.
>>1260213 when you need to stop is dependant on how many masteries you do, if you don't do that many then the rocks you need falls a lot. Old estimates in older operators was something like 25,000 rocks but since most recent players work with newer operators who have less rock usage (gel and other things) its likely a lot lower these days. A good rule of thumb I think everyone went by is to just divide your rock count by 10 and that is what you actually have on hand. So 500 is 50 charges.
>>1261672 calculations are pointless for old stinkies, but yes in the extremely long run it can be worth it eventually. Will we all still be playing after a year from now if the game is still up? Then yes I would do it. This is one of those times where when the devs gift you a free e2 module to use it.
I'm up over 500 devices. I have 350 alloy and 200 polyester. I still can't bring myself to stop farming devices. The device trauma is too strong.
