Its written by Sakurai, that's all you need to know to conclude it physically cannot score better than 3/10 for anyone who's not mentally ill or obsessed with one of the featured servants.
>It's one of the best regarded chapters by JP polls
Nips have genetically bad taste. Anything that comes from "JP Polls" should be ignored and be used as a list of anti-/alter/ slop.

There's always the benefit of doubt, the works of Tolstoy, ancient scripts like the Art of War and the Bible, and even Hitler's Mein Kampf were well written enough to the point that even the translations maintain the voice & prose of the original work. Sakurai is just a bad writer.
Sakurai has good setups with amazing hooks:
>A newly crowned emperor has a rebellion drop into her lap led by none other than her forebearers including her beloved uncle.
>A villainous sorcerer tests the concept of a Lostbelt, before it was introduced by plunging ancient warriors into bloodthirsty duels to the death.
>Ragnarok is stopped in its tracks by a last survivor goddess by sealing it as a local sun. She then preserves her kingdom through practical brutality with a constant reminder of her doom hanging over her.
>With his dying breath, Jason delivers Chaldea to the foot of Olympus where lightning and thunder affiliated servants have established a beach head against Zeus the all-father
>Dealing with the villainous sorcerer once and for all as he tries to become a full-fledged beast in an ancient Samurai city under seige by onis
>The final battle with a recurring Tamamo-like figure that seems to be particular about business deals, weapons, and collecting creatures from every Lostbelt we have visited
These all sound amazing. But then they turned out like complete shit. Misdirections(lies), subversions, undermining established events, and sometimes just outright confusion. Despite being clear that Vitch is NOT a Tamamo, her profiles and other interactions seem to insist that she is, in fact, a Tamamo despite the other Tamamos(Mae & Cat) having clear lines that deny her as one.
TL;DR
Sakurai Bad.
