I think I figured out the auto-management. Yes, it's strictly and objectively better than managing the temple yourself. The returns you will get from 20 hours of automatic management (when it's maxed out, I guess) are exactly the same as what you would get from perfectly managing your temple for 24 hours. Basically, it's balanced to be identical to managing the temple yourself, but because they decided to give a generous grace period for doing it "daily", if you actually redeem the rewards every 20 hours, you'll get up to 20% more Crests on average. One thing, though, at least from the UI, you don't seem to get any extra Crests when the auto-management system is doing Yum Cha Sin commissions. If that's indeed the case, the optimal approach is to auto-manage it all the time, except during the Yum Cha Sin refresh days. On those, you first complete those commissions manually, and only then enable auto-management.

There's no reason not to use it if eight directions is all the game can recognize, but if it can recognize more, then using a keyboard means you're limiting yourself. Also, mouse look is a thing, that has to be implemented properly for it not to feel like shit. For instance, I play Dragon's Dogma (both) on a gamepad, but it has an amazing mouse look implementation, so it plays well on MKB. In ZZZ, meanwhile, I find it real annoying to look at someone's MKB gameplay with the camera flailing around.

Not at all, 95% of the time you're locked on and when you're not you can strafe just fine with a stick. also it might be because of muscle memory, but I simply CANNOT play Isaac on a controller. I'm sure it's technically more restrictive to use arrow keys rather than the analogue stick for movement, but I dunno

You won't get RSI from MnK OR Controllers, if you just cut off your hands.
