On June 6th, 2025, Version 2.0 of Zenless Zone Zero was released on all playable platforms, and with it, the introduction of a new and upcoming limited agent: Ju Fufu, the game’s third ever S rank Fire Stunner.
Although her banner was yet to arrive, Fufu left a shockstar-ingly bad first impression within the new season’s debut chapter: spending the majority of her screentime grunting, whining, and growling about all the Miasma particles infiltrating her nostrils while exploring the Porcelume Mines- with the same punctuality and tone as a character from Dora the Explorer.
All hadn’t been lost, however. A little over two weeks later, Ju Fufu’s character EP, titled "Self-Cultivation Through Food", was released on Youtube: bringing a smile to everybody’s face with its catchy yet simple Ching-Chong melody, combined with the humorous image of the tiger thiren gaining more weight than her junior Pan Yinhu due to her excess indulgence of tiger meat.
Unfortunately, Fufu’s stocks would plummet to a catastrophic low with the release of her “Legend of the Tiger Warrior!” agent story- an exciting story in name only, adding about as much to her character as the amount of tiger shit she exhumed after burning off all the belly fat she’d gained from her character EP.
The end result was astronomical: at first a prominent speaker in chapter 1, Fufu’s screen time had been absolutely gutted- stated to be unavailable due to “failing her arithmetic test” by Pan Yinhu. As if to affirm this drastic decision: chapter 2 of season 2 received near universal acclaim by fans of the game, a staggering development when compared to the middling, mixed reception of 2.0’s debut chapter.
Indeed, the answer was obvious: in spite of the devs’ various attempts- culminating with one final last ditch effort with the grand prize for the 2025 “Drip Fest” contest Video category (featuring remarkable 3d animation, reminiscent of the early gmod videos of the 2010s), attempts to maintain Fufu’s desired popularity continued to stagnate. The devs ultimately decided to cut their losses by rerunning her character banner on November 5th (nearly 5 months after her initial debut), with the intent of cashing in on the remaining few members of the Fufu cult, before overshadowing her completely with the releases of Dialyn,Ye Shunguang, and Zhao.
Stunner-crept, senior-crept, chungus-crept, size-crept, and even phon-crept: at last, the era of Fufu’s popularity has reached its bitter end.
Rest in peace, Ju Fufu. You will be remembered in name only.
