Overall the 2.5 patch is decent there are a few pacing issues with it being 6 hours long and all but I don't think its worth skipping the entire patch. The only real problem with it is the prerelease date event should have been added to the main story.

My overall thoughts of the Waifei Peninsula arc are pretty simple. I think the Hoyo storytelling model failed. It's incredibly clear they have 2-3 teams working on separate patches with just basic communication going on between them. The end result is that every patch feels very disconnected from each other, with the connections being incredibly small and, in Shunguang's case, added almost last minute (evidenced by all languages not having voiceover for the Shunguang additions in 2.4). Patches felt like the story was bending around them, rather them appearing because the story demanded it. The Qingming sword drama was clearly supposed to be the overarching plot of this arc, yet it was absent for most of it - I'm guessing the teams that worked on patches 2.1-2.3 just weren't well-informed of how crucial it would be later in the arc. We have important developments that are almost nearly forgotten going from one patch to the next, like the entire NEDF corruption: Where are the repercussions from Mevorakh exposing and dealing with it? Then we have patches like 2.3, which had almost negative relevance to the entire arc except for a couple of scenes. In an ideal world, Shunguang would have appeared earlier, we'd have more interactions with Shiyuan before he disappeared, the entirety of Spook Shack would have been there helping us along the way (instead of just Manato), we'd be seeing the effects of each major event around the peninsula, and we'd have more cliffhangers by just letting one patch's story flow into the next patch's. Not every patch needs to be neatly wrapped up with a bow on top, and I think this has been hurting the story way more than it's been helping it. I also hate how they treated Ju Fufu. Just because her patch is over doesn't mean you have to write her out of the story by putting her in homework hell, god damn it.
