>Obviously a standard like Corn can't do the same.
It's not even that they can't do the same it's that they're not even close.
Using an A rank unit is going to be at least 5k or a loss, up to even 15k
Obviously this matter less if you're running two M2 limited agents but that still burns my ass that my favorites can't ever hit close to them.
Take Lycaon for example, the vanilla buffs he gives are great
>KOTS Swing, or Astral
>25% res shred
>35% stun damage multi
So 3 big damage points from the kit maybe 3.5 considering his res shred is better
Compare it to Lighter
>KOTS Swing, or Astral
>15% res shred
>stun duration increase
>70% damage
>30% crit damage
4 big damage points from the kit plus one utility
Lycaon probably could use one more damage stat to keep up. But then when you upgrade them both only Lighter gets team wide buff improvements
>25 res shred
>gains stun damage multiplier
So now Lighter lands at 5 damage points and the one thing Lycaon had better over him is now equal.
Now eventually Lycaon might be able to get a nice DPS increasing sig over his own for the whole team so that's one settled, but he's still a great deal behind Lighter despite being an S rank. Standard stunners that aren't Lycaon don't get nearly as lucky.
I just don't udnerstand why they have to be so weak comparatively to limited units. If it's really just because they're A rank, then why waste dev time on making them cool.
If it's because it's too cheap to max them, then give them a dolphin/whale f2p saver option to make them good.
I feel like Lycaon and Nicole should be the baseline level of strength for a free unit. Good, but not excellent and with upgrade options through spending to make them better in the way S11 can steal W5 of Evelyn's ball to be better. It's just so fucking lame to have units who play well, or whose design you jive with and then you can't even vertically invest into them.
