General Thread #76: Titan Edtion Jumper 10/30/2025 (Thu) 16:13:00 No. 155842
A thread for general jumpchain discussion and chatting. Please make sure to spoiler explicit images and keep hornyposting to a minimum. >Old thread: >>153787 >Horny Thread: >>143436 >Thread Archive: >>1331
>>157873 Ah, yes. The "Fuck off, do our work for us" splat.
>>157875 Mate, I ran a whole ass chain like this, with the added rule that I could only go forwards and couldn't reuse jumps unless they crossed over multiple times. I got like 400 jumps in before I got bored and wandered off.
>>157877 I remember that. But I'm still surprised how well traveled Illya in particular is. I guess the kaleidoscope angle makes it easy to justify.
>>157876 To be fair, they at least made example characters with fairly expansive Charmsets that you can use if you don't make your own, but then you're working with Charms themed around the concepts they chose for their COOL OCs, so enjoy your Farming and Community Values Exalt. It's just absurd that they had the gall to take this away from Infernals and then go on to make Infernals cookie cutter Solar variants.
>>157871 No. Even 3e Abyssals got the safe horni treatment too. Credit where it’s due, I think it was pulled off the best after Sidereals because Abyssals started so far down at the bottom there was nowhere to go but up. >No more Monstrances >More stuff to do in the Underworld (even if it is all quite isolated) >Abyssal Charms are still, broadly, geared for bringing the world to an agonising end but there is no Neverborn literally breathing down their neck in them The main downsides are that they attempt to make all the Deathlords into people players would WANT to serve with varying degrees of sanding away at their characters, the Neverborn now exist in a state of narrative quantum uncertainty where they are dormant enough not to bully your PCs but JUST awake enough to still enact setting events like the Lion’s entombment with no rhyme or reason, and in the final analysis necromancy is still a fundamentally worse version of sorcery.
Takeaways: Some neat stuff for warstriders and sorcery-related stuff and shit but otherwise is fake and gay.
>>157880 Aren't 3E Abyssal Charms based off the Deathlords for some reason, instead of being based around Oblivion/the Neverborn.
>>157882 Funny thing about that. That's how they were advertised due to the new lore of the Neverborn being FUCKING UNCONSCIOUS OR SOMETHING while the Deathlords independently, as newly dead Solar (and non-Solar Exalt in some cases, that's a new thing too) ghosts petitioned them for the right to do Deathlord Things. But at some poin t >>157881 Agreed. I feel less than no remorse about stealing ideas from 3e and using them in my self-insert isekai power fantasy/comedy of errors because 3e already feels like a grab bag of unconnected ideas, occasional spurts of aggressive pandering (not just social progressiveness, but the inane inclusion of GRAND MAW as a necromancy tutor long after everyone agreed Exalted was not the oWoD's past what the actual fuck is going on in those writing rooms) and increasingly desperate attempts to attracting the homebrew deluges of 1e and 2e without a fundamental understanding of why those deluges happened in the first place. Exalted 3e feels like an edition meant more to win internet arguments with an imaginary audience of people like, well, me but less capable of hiding their powerlevels in a public forum. Instead of an edition mean to win over new players. It makes me want to apologise to Werewolf the Forsaken because even though it is also a game with strong undercurrents of shame over Werewolf the Apocalypse, it also does A MUCH BETTER JOB at fleshing out it's new setting than 3e. It is becoming increasingly apparent that despite being the GenericAnon of the Exalted dev team, once Holden left there was nobody remaining on it who knew what the selling points of the original setting even were. This is most noticeable by the fact that Sidereals is FAR AND AWAY the most interesting (not flawless, but actually attempting to engage with concepts like the logistics of divine bureaucracy) splatbook of the edition. Because it just so happens Vance (the fella who is more or less the most prominent 3e developer) is himself a huge Sidereals fan from his prolific homebrewing days.
>>157878 They've also collabed with Valkyrie Connect, which connects to a bunch of random popular animes, like konosuba, danmachi, and rezero.
>>157883 ...okay, that's a weirdly large chunk of text deleted all at once. Ahem. BUT AT SOME POINT, for some unspoken reason never clarified on any forum I can find apparently they decided to backtrack on how much Abyssal Charms would be inspired by Deathlords. The inspiration is still there if you look for it. The Heron (who is like, totally the deadliest and coolest assassin of them all you guys; the more I think about it the more 3e, at least the portion of it relating to Abyssals, makes sense as the Heron's self-insert fic) has a more overt bird theme that is found in things like Thrown or in supernatural obsession-based self-empowerment. But it is a lot more low key. Inherent to the Abyssal Charmset instead of doled out as a reward for loyalty, as was previously implied. And slotted right next to things like entropic laser eyes or shooting a brief window into Oblivion in Creation. Or the 3e version of Immortal Malevolence Enslavement, which is simply shortened to Immortal Malevolence, and fluffed around the Abyssal simply seething themself into ressurrective immortality without needing the Neverborn as a middleman OR losing Essence ranks with each revival. It is, as are many things in 3e, just a thing that is put there because that was the original plan seemingly nobody had the balls to deviate from and that the devs hope to never dwell on further.
>>157883 >and increasingly desperate attempts to attracting the homebrew deluges of 1e and 2e without a fundamental understanding of why those deluges happened in the first place. Instead what they’ll get is homebrewers backporting the good ideas. On that note, what would you consider the good ideas and where would I go to read them?
>>157886 I have good news on that front: 3e has much, much fewer books (a good idea in theory, let down in practice by...boring writing) so all you need is 3e core for the sorcerous workings system, 3e Abyssals for the necromantic workings system (like I said, necromancy is still eating sorcery's leftovers; there is potential in it having more sway over souls/the Underworld. But that potential is utterly nullified by the devs' refusal to do anything interesting with either), Arms of the Chosen (Artifacts, especially Warstriders), 3e Sidereals (main reason to stop here is by far the most interesting artifacts ever written in the edition as well as the most fitting take on the Usurpation. Neither is very long by Exalted standards, this edition was either written for or by the reading-allergic generations) and Hundred Devils Night Parade for the manse-Behemoth Gajam-Un, a statted 3CD and these new ophanim-like 1CD things.
>>157887 Thanks. >Checks /tg/ Exalted thread >3E corebook uploaded in 2016 The devs really have been at this for a while.
I feel like I can't possibly survive that long on a chain. Like, on paper I'm just completely fucked. Not only am I clumsy and prone to injury, I immediately get light headed and sick at the sight of my own blood. I'm going to bumble to my death the moment I go anywhere even vaguely dangerous. I am very safety minded but that doesn't matter that much thanks to lack of composure and afformentioned clumsiness.
>>157889 At least you aren't in Project Zomboid doing a CDDA run.

>>157426 Why only 7 tho?
>>157890 I don't think I would willfully go anywhere that would consider zombies a problem, so that's neat.
(99.42 KB 1080x1211 emotional support nubee.jpg)

>>157889 Get you some some super-durability and everything will be fine.
>>157894 Some durability, some regen, and some vanguards. There's a reason I like playing support; various reasons really. The bloody clumsiness thing is certainly part, though.
>>157887 I do like that new possession 1st Circle. I know there was already the 10 bodies one, but I honestly think it looks pretty cool and would want one as a Familiar. It's singing gimmick is cute.
>>157896 It's a cool one, yeah. The only reason I'm not also recommending Alchemicals is because to be honest, 3e had the bright idea of not fucking with Alchemicals. At all. Except for the fact that once again, because 3e worships homogeny so much it might as well declare itself a cult of SWLIHN Man/God-Machine Protocols are gone and Alchemicals just use sorcery like everyone else. Machine-themed sorcery, but still. There's some differences in war and politics between the Eight Nations that don't really have an impact on the Alchemicals' role and position. In the grand scheme of things nothing has meaningfully changed for them.
How hard of a time would a Scion from Scion have in either WoD setting, assuming they have the basic starting stuff they need to access their powers? I don't have a particular god in mind to be the scion of yet, I might just go Titanspawn and horrify the locals with Fertile Soil.
>>157897 I still remember the fucking Alchemicals cover where they just looked like dudes with paint on their skin, wore shit like tribal bone necklaces, and one of them was in a fucking flying rocket wheelchair.
Y'arr! Where ye be hiding thee new thread?
>>157897 You working on more jumps, Shard?
>>157900 It happens when it all grinds to a halt, when there is no more to be done in this place. Do not leave a grave empty.
>>157792 >The Dark Tower. The Stand. The Shining and Doctor Sleep. We need more Stephen Kingverse jumps in general. Never ever unless Shard makes 'em.
>>157824 Essentially, yes, but not literally. This matters because if you go to somewhere with the wrong Essence type (like normal Exalts into the Underworld, or Abyssals into Creation), it will negatively impact your Essence respiration.

Do you ever go to modern settings and make it so the ice wall is real?
>>157806 Do you want a chain that can end a couple jumps in or that can potentially last hundreds or even thousands if you don't roll an end-jump? Set length is the saner option.
