Alright, got a whole plot concept here. So, my story starts back when I'm a member of Raya Lucaria. Not an amazing sorcerer, pretty good faculty member. I'm good at teaching others, taking care of logistics; people like me. When Radagon is called to the capital he brings a few people along with him and I'm among that number for purely administrative purposes. I adapt well enough when I get to Leyndell, picking up the local lingo and present as being as devout and faithful as the next guy in-so-much as I'm expected to be. I'm assigned to a much more significant post than I ever expect to be however.
I'm placed in charge of being the royal tutor to some relation of Maliketh the Black Blade. Daughter, cousin, clone, I can't tell you exactly what the relation is, but her name was Machalat and I was clearly not her first tutor. This women(? girl?) was much larger than me and absolutely, definitely had some sort of attention disorder because god damn it was near impossible to keep her attention during class hours. More than once she'd see a squirrel out the window and dive right out for it; and class was often held on the seventh floor. She also kept setting things on fire? Still, it was important work since she was important and powerful. She was like some nascent god of the forge that could whip out masterpieces; it's just that she was also just a little stupid. Apparently I was doing well enough because that was my job for a while. Even when shit really hit the fan and Destined Death was stolen out from Maliketh I was still just hanging out.
Things went down hill for me pretty fast though. I was looking into different tomes contemplating the myriad issues the Lands Between were suddenly faced with, including the steady, spontaneous appearance of Those Who Live In Death. One such research material was a tome relating to ghostflame, a power belonging to an ancient civilization. Clearly I did not fucking keep up with it well enough though, as one day I arrive for Machalat's tutoring and she shows me the cool new fire she found in one of my books. This was - of course - seen as incredibly heretical, and as I was her teacher, I got so much blame for the situation and was imprisoned, sent to Castle Morne.
Over the years to follow I heard Machalat rebelled in a fashion and sided with the Redmane Legion for a time, but after Caelid got rot nuked and she helped some of her former compatriots with attempts at cleansing the rot, she started wandering around a bit, and eventually learned where I was before cracking me out of jail. Now I have people after me for my supposed crimes, while Machalat keeps dragging me around like a personal assistant asking what to do next or where we are or what number she's thinking of between 1 and- she forgot what the highest number she knows is. This is my life now.
