Manhwa General Thread Anonymous 04/21/2025 (Mon) 22:07:06 No. 64
Why don't we have a manhwa general to get the ball rolling on this board? Tell us about what you're reading, any recommendations, so on and so forth. I've recently been reading The Novel's Extra. It's a story about a guy named Kim Hajin who is the author of a novel he wrote and he ends up becoming apart of that Novel one day. Originally he planned to graduate from the Cube and find a way to return back to the real world, but ends up getting attached to the world and the characters he wrote. It is currently on It's third season. I've also been reading Solo Max Level Newbie. It's kinda like Solo Leveling where the MC is strong and everyone around him is a supporter. The story revolves around a tower appearing and humanity must clear all 50 floors of it or face extinction. (Pic related, all 5 images)

I just got into Jungle Juice while waiting for Solo Leveling season 2. 30ish chapters in. Its shounen, dont expect any surprises. Setting is like X-men, an entire group of humans with special powers (mutations) hidden from public eye or would face discrimination. MC goes into hiding when his mutation is revealed to the public and now tries to find a cure, while the villains (other mutants) are hunting other civilian mutants to force them to develop higher power levels in exchange for their sanity. Like Solo Leveling it is unsubtle in its critique on South Korean social problems and wage slavery. I dont know if this part would go anywhere or if its just a poorly thought excuse. Its basically a return to "survival of the fittest" and thats also done by X-men homo superior. Unlike Solo Leveling, the love interest candidate gets some development. I wish they actually showed more than just fighting in mutant society. Its a lot of world building going to waste
>>64 Manhwas are the last stand of "based" Asian media. I'll give some recommendations: - Omniscient Reader - Jungle Juice - Viral Hit - Killer Peter/Pietro - Study Group - Samadhi (short) - Pick Me Up - Mr. Baek - Lookism (only really good for the first 100-200 chapters)
>>71 I've read Jungle Juice, it's okay. The concept is good and the art is good too artist has done pornhwas before . I won't say anything about the plot armor because plot armor is existent in every manhwa, but the plot armor in Jungle Juice is a bit way too obvious with the teacher and how the MC trains offscreen and is more powerful than the big bad within only a few weeks of being transported to the new world. I do like how the power system uses insects, I thought that was a pretty cool original idea, but other than that. That was all there was to Jungle Juice.

Who are your top 5 favorite characters/fighters?
>>72 >Last based Asian media >Only list a bunch of shitty webtoons
>>64 Just started reading a new series called the legendary hero is an academy honors student and I really like the art and the cute interaction between the MC and his half-sister. She lost and now has to dress up and become his maid as part of a wager between the two.
>>102 Continuing on, MC beats his half-sister an partakes in the academy entrance exams. Looks like he has new rivals now in this entrance exam. The author reveals the existence of Hero Records, a record of a tough battle a hero overcame, which is basically stored in a book as a memory which is used for training purposes and gaining experience and is also where the site of the exam will take place. The objective of the test is to survive by whatever means necessary which includes taking out other examinees and eliminating them it getting them to disqualify themselves, as well as killing the boss monster of that hero record, which is a huge spider that terrorized that forest many centuries ago. Overrall, this is a good start.

>>165 What the fuck is this, what is this vampirenigger doing to this poor bovine?
>>166 Manhwa is Path of the Shaman. The guy is sucking out the cow's energy to get a high and a power boost.
>>167 >Path of the Shaman Isn't this just a worse version of Return of Mount Hwa Sect?
>>168 I wouldn't know because I haven't read Return of Mount Hwa Sect. All of these cheap fiction authors are just copying each other's homework anyway.
>>170 Not really a fan of murim stuff, but Mount Hwa was a pretty good read.
>>64 I guess these were the manwha I liked/enjoy the most, sadly I never finished none of them, except the frist Solo Leveling the sequel Solo Leveling Ragnarok is also pretty cool a lot better than first one actually, I really like Max Level Newbie too but I didnt put it because it's already at the beginning of the thread. I guess someone can reccomend to me more obscure manhwa it would be cool specially if it doesn't have a level system, I remember one that started with a white hair ninja like girl at the night or something but I never found it again.
>>172 Weird, the last image did not send.
>Board has been dead for months since 4cuck came baci up >Suddenly, theres activity again Its nice that theres a place to talk about this slop again, did /a/ link to this board again or what?
>>172 >>173 I've read 3rd pic and 5th pic. Solo Leveling Ragnarok is unironically better than the original Solo Leveling. It's not braindead "aura farming" like SL is. How the hell is it possible that the sequel is miles better than the original? >Solo Max Level Newbie This is an okay read if you're looking for something in the same vein as SL where the MC can create OP cheat abilities and never lose because of it.
>>175 What I like about Max Level Newbie is that is actually fun and the characters at least have personalities, plus the magic is cool.
>>176 >characters atleast have personalities Lol It's an okay read if you want an MC who can plow through his enemies, I'll give that the MC comes up with creative ways to do it but the premise is that the MC has already played and beaten the game hundreds of times when everyone else gave up playing it. >plus the magic is cool Wat
>>172 I tried valhalla saga but dropped it. It read like a japanese bait-and-switch isekai with the fake hook being that it's about a nerd with glasses fighting ragnarok alongside vikings, only to actually be about a nerd with no distinctive features fighting generic isekai monsters alongside a battle harem.
>>176 >Final big bad of this story is unironically named NIGGER WRATH >said big bad is a fleshy woman with ungodly amounts of tentacles that look like they've seen a lot of use in hentai. Author is very clearly Lovecraftmaxxing and I love it.
>>177 I just want somethig that is fun to read. Well, at least we agreed is better than Solo Leveling, it seems you wont get it.
>>180 >I just want somethig that is fun to read. I mainly read isekai manhwas, but I'm willing to read anything that has good art. Stuff like Novel's Extra, Extra's Academy Survival Guide, Villain wants to live and Ghost Story club are what I'm currently keeping up with atm.
