Occupational Licensure Anonymous 01/04/2020 (Sat) 06:48:46 Id: 311b42 No. 1299

Why can't libertarianism make any meaningful progress on occupational licensing? Look at this picture. Whoa, 11 states where you can maybe be a barber or a watchmaker or something. Wooo, wow, great progress.

Meanwhile, the history of pharmacist licensing has gone as follows:

1905 - 2 year degree
1932 - 4 year program
1954 - 5 year program
Current: Doctor of pharmacy degree + X hours in apprenticeship program, etc., etc..

Shit, if it improves quality so much, make it a goddam 12 year program with a 5 year apprenticeship. Why the fuck not? Is there really no upper goddam limit to these things? At the very least you'd think we could agree that occupational licensure should have a limit of--say--two years of educational training or

>Why can't libertarianism make any meaningful progress on occupational licensing?
The same reason progress has been so stagnant on other fronts. Democracy stands in direct opposition to liberty. Lawmakers have every reason to cater to the parasitic rent-seekers who desire the regulatory capture of occupational licensing. Voters are too stupid to understand why it might be a bad thing, and 16 years of public schooling inoculates them against dissenting opinion.

OP, I understand your pain. I think occupational licensure is one of the worst things the State is doing to people. Sad thing is that the issue is often ignored by many free marketers.
That said, to make progress in the real world you need a strategy, you need to punish your enemies and help your friends.
Libertarians or classical liberals, don't have a system to punish their enemies or help their friends.

You can create all the regulations, occupational licensure, etc you want, if libertarians get any power, you will still keep what you've stolen and just lose your privileges, but so will everybody else, except you will have the stolen capital to restart with an advantage.
As for helping your friends, I've already written a post about how libertarians help their friends (

The only way to realistically have a libertarian state is to completely change the constitution to make it illegal to implement these dumb laws.
>>1325
It's already illegal under the current Constitution to have these laws, ((they)) just re-interpreted it to their liking. Constitutions are fake and gay, the government isn't going to limit its power because a piece of paper which the government interprets and enforces told it to.

Wait I thought most libertarian outlets already talk about how bad occupational licensing laws are. Hell evenReason magazine talks about it a lot.

Book, pic, and vid related are all elaborations on this.

This, the only correct answer. For any republican and democrat or public official, in general, think exactly like Hoppe points out: "I must loot the country as fast as possible because if I don't loot it know, I will not be able to do it later." A monarch in the other hand...
The only way a libertarian social order happens, is going the Hoppe way or the Stirner(sue me) way: realize the slavery of labor and stay with product of your labor, so stop paying taxes and using the central bank currency(crypto is here and gold is still here) in a large scale.

Some say that the elites oppose regulations, Socialism, and immorality, but why do the globalists support minimum wages, Obamacare, and homosexuality? If the media is biased then how do you know that Biden and Trump are corrupt? https://godlike.com/
>>5341 Hey man, I think you have schizophrenia. I'm concerned.
Americans don't understand economics. Americans scream that the only possible solution to high housing costs is to destroy the economy, but why not use the free market, get rid of regulations, and build more houses? Americans say inflation is only caused by tariffs, but doesn't printing money also raise prices?
