Libertarian Theonomy Anonymous 11/14/2019 (Thu) 06:40:57 Id: faaa89 No. 656

Is Biblical law compatible with libertarianism? R.J. Rushdoony and Gary North made some compelling arguments for it, in my opinion.
>>656
All libertarians make a huge fuss about Romans 13. I always wanted to hear how they deal with The Cleansing of the Temple. Especially pacifists like Robert Murphy.
>>657
That's a subject they'll never get to comprehend, agree on, or deal with as most bibles incl the (((king james bible))) is fucking pozzed. And literally denotes the "chosen" as untouchable sons of god ad infinitum.

I don't mind people believing in a higher power but this Abrahamic bullshit was destined for failure the moment martin luther was turned into a Jesus tier pariah by his own (((christians))) for actually just translating the torah/talmud literally without censorship, and the "new testament" was turned into a proto communist judeophilic cult for gentiles.
>>656
Yes, in fact I'd argue the two are mutually beneficial.

>>659
>most bibles incl the
>t. can't into basic theology
The Jews are no longer the chosen people, they lost that benefit when they murdered Christ. The followers of Christ, i.e. Christians, became the new chosen people, and God's church became the new Israel. The evangelical preachers who claim otherwise are Dispensationalist morons and should not be trusted.

I don't understand why people want to fit Christianity into a libertarian framework. I love what Christianity did for Liberty in the West, it did a lot, but it's not libertarian.
>>663
The church is essential for high-trust, functional, homogeneous covenant communities. High-trust, functional, homogeneous covenant communities are the most productive and desirable incarnation of liberty. At the same time, the smaller the state, and the less bureaucrats try to subvert the church and replace it with their civic religion of climate change and the welfare state, the more the church thrives. The Bible may not be a libertarian manifesto, and the church might not be explicitly libertarian, but the church and the unrestricted market are mutually-reinforcing institutions. The church strengthens the market through making high-trust communities and decreasing transaction costs, while the market reinforces the church by reducing the church's republican enemy. They are compatible and symbiotic, even if they are not identical.

>I always wanted to hear how they deal with The Cleansing of the Temple.
That was a property owner evicting squatters from His land.

This.
Interestingly, Deuteronomy 28:32-41 perfectly describes what is going on in the white world right now, and does so in the context of it being punishment for renouncing God's way (i.e., Christendom).
>28:32 - Race-mixing and forced integration.
>28:33 - Foreign hostile takeovers of domestic businesses.
>28:36 - Foreign hordes will become numerous enough to seize political power.
>28:37 - Extinction.
>28:41-45 - Foreigners will destroy the white West, because we did not retain our devotion. In other words, we violated our eternal business contract with God. And He appears to be quite pissed.

>>664
In fact, is the Benedict Option not simply the Christian equivalent to Hoppe's concept of covenant communities?
>>663
Personally, I'd say it's to reconcile my faith with libertarianism. I had trouble regarding the LP's stance on abortion until learning later on the LP isn't the end all be all of libertarianism and there is much more literature to read.
https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3915500 This is about free market, not libertarianism per se, but it's a good read for christians. I agree with >>664 and I don't think libertarianism is not compatible with christianity. In fact, state's attacks on freedom of religion under lockdowns is what turned me to libertarianism
>>1243 >the LP isn't the end all be all of libertarianism How long did it take you to realize LGBT and mass (legal) immigration aren't conservative values, despite the GOP supporting them?
>>1243 And in other news, sodomy and Satan worship aren't Catholic values, despite what the so-called Pope says
>>656 I'm currently reading "Backwards Christian Soldiers" by Gary North, I'll give an opinion when I'm done
Americans scream anyone who loves freedom is a traitor, but maybe the real traitors are the Americans who love tyranny.
>>5223 >anyone who loves freedom is a traitor Anyone who loved traditional Chinese culture was called a traitor during Mao's reign. America as the Founding Fathers envisioned it has been dead since at least the early 20th century, maybe earlier.
You know that the US is bad now when you think about freedom and start crying.
>>5226 the early 1900s is when a bunch of rich ukrainian jewish families started moving to america. devon stack covered this in a few streams
There is no sanity in the USA anymore. How can you deal with Americans when they look you in the eye and say that the US had TSA groping in 1776?
