The Little Humpbacked Horse Is a Russian fairy tale that tells the story of the young man Ivan the youngest of his two brothers who one night tasks him to watch their field that have been suffering of thievery. However it is not thieves Ivan finds that night but a magical Mare, he decides to hop on her (based?) and hold on to her back as the Mare tries to get him off in a long struggle of galloping and jumping. The Magical Mare then speaks to Ivan, proclaiming that he have successfully captured her and that he is now her master.

>>3030 She offers him magical gifts for her freedom, Two beautiful steeds and a small humpbacked pony mare called Zipp. Ivan agrees and lets the mare go, she bestows her blessing on to him and tells him to stay close to Zipp no matter what and his fortunes will never end. The two sets of on a grand adventurer of magical birds and underwater monsters.

>>3031 The 1975 adaption is my personal favorite not least for it making Zipp a mare (which was unexplained in the original story) but Ivans own personally is really great for this kind of story, being life loving n' easy going but with a fun dose of eccentricity.
