PSA in USA Driver 09/13/2017 (Wed) 12:13:27 Id: cdcc35 No. 13997
http://media.groupe-psa.com/en/press-releases/group/psa-group-starts-operations-usa-carsharing-services To Americans, are you hyped that Peugeot, Citroën and DS will hit the American ground in the next 10 years? This time it seems the French brands will be back, as they bought Opel from GM, which, oppositly, backed from the European market except for the Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette and Cadillac, which only sells 30 units per year. So now that your Buicks won't be rebranded Opels, you'll have new French brands to buy from, will you do it? <I believe you guys won't, since only the 208 gti and 308 gti have decent engines, but for the global population, some of their products seem to fit the US market.
What's that got to do with the link you posted? Honestly I don't care, 1. I'm not in a position to buy a new car anyways, not that I'd want to 2.With how tastes have changed, the land of the luxobarge is more open to what the french might be bringing. 3.Fiat is doing well enough so I'm not sure they wouldn't repeat it. But Fiat is backed by dodge here (despite fiat owning dodge) where as the frenchies would be going in alone.
>>14094 The end of the article says that the carsharing service is just the first step to try and sell PSA's brands in the USA and Canada. You could ride a Citroën in Los Angeles airport today if you wanted. Thank you for your input anyways, it's true that PSA doesn't have much backup here, except his partner Mitsubishi.
>>13997 Will it mean more manual transmission estates? If not I don't care.

>>14146 Well if PSA sells his regular cars without modification in the USA, the Citroën C5 estate and the Peugeot 508 estate both exist in fuel/diesel manual/automatic. The 508 RXH is even a higher, break and diesel hybrid version of the 508, in manual or automatic. There will be a lot more new vehicles until PSA hits the American soil, but there must be one manual estate in the end for you.
I hope those burgers will get flodded with super-cheap Peugeot 206-es and buy them up like hot buns because "Muh fuel economy, and can park it anywhere" moms.

>>14157 That´d be fun but they'd have to buy them diesel if they want high efficiency, since the small petrol engines perform badly on highway. But for a cheap car for everyday use, the small 208 or C3 (or even 108/C1/Toyota Aygo clones, but I think these are definitly too small for the US market) could do it like the Mini or Fiat 500.
>>13997 Oh boy, more rounded minivan-replacing suvs and ugly round cars with no trunks that look like the shit I used to lazily draw in comics back in school, how exciting.
>>14163 I can't say you're wrong here.
>>14152 I suppose it's possible. Ford makes a lot of manual cars across the pond that we don't get here. USDM and EUDM are two very different markets.

>>14189 There also is the smaller estate you don't really care of (I suppose), the smaller 308 SW, which will be undoubtably sold in manual since it is an entry level car. Though I fear this kind of body won't attract many American buyers.

>>14198 Actually that one is good sized imo. So is the Golf wagon. I would love to have an E30 estate.
>>14205 That BMW isn't on the same level, it´s more luxurious and large. Don't you have these in the US? Or were you kindly denied the estate version of German cars?
>>14207 Eastern europe has only estate versions of old BMWs left, because all the sedans are either made into drift vehicles or smashed to pieces by 18year olds.
>>14209 Sorry I assumed you were American Yeah old BMW tend to end in bad hands with their low cost and high power, in western Europe too. Except that here, the government smash them because "muh pollution"
>>14210 I am not >>14207
>>14207 E30 estate is large? I've seen a couple around and they are pretty small. We don't have them in the USDM - we don't get any of the good estates because most people have been obsessed with econoboxes or SUVs for the past 30 years. Estates haven't sold well for decades. People import E30's though.
>>14228 Compared to the 308 SW, it is large. For the European market it´s over average, since hatchbacks are the average cars here. It´s funny that estates don't sell in the US anymore, because they come from your land at first. They sell pretty well in Europe, at least better than the sedan version of these cars.
>>14229 >It´s funny that estates don't sell in the US anymore, because they come from your land at first. They got thrown away by modern cultural Marxists, along with all the rest of classic Americana.
>>14254 I would say that car culture in general is being thrown away because of political correctness.
>>14256 Naaa, i would not say so. How are cool cars offensive to anyone? Nvm, just figured it out. Speed limits on autobahns so nobody would hit a crossing rapefugee on his way home from touching 9-yr old in nearest white town Or are you implying anything about fuel economy being pushed on everyone?
>>14259 speed limits everywhere because fun kills and fuel economy pushed. In France, people look down on you when you have a powerful car because you're "selfish" and because most of the French are too retarded to like wealth
>>14260 What the fuck? How is having a nice thing selfish? Were you supposed to buy a Peugeot 206 and donate the rest to children in Africa or something?
>>14261 I don't know if it's jealousy or a remnant of Revolutionary, anti-nobles thinking, but a lot of French people (guess what, the ones that don't earn much and don't want to) kind of hate the richer people. I see a lot of "nice" cars that are keyed just because the brand sounds luxurious (they won't damage a collectible ride though). Last time, in a mob (never change, France), retarded lefties burnt a 1997 Porsche 911 Convertible, just because it was a Porsche and "take that rich people"! Turned out that the owner was a 65 yo retired carpenter that saved 20k€ to buy his dream car, which is cheaper than most new cars in France nowadays. tl;dr: France is full of retarded lefties.
>>14254 That came out wrong. That might have something to do with it, but the main reason is women and cucks like the higher seating position of SUV's and light trucks.
