GT: The Grand Tour, Season 2 Driver 11/02/2017 (Thu) 21:53:41 Id: c0c246 No. 14497
The Grand Tour returns on December 8th. Let's watch and discuss.
I hope it's nowhere near as scripted as season one.
>>14500 The first 2 series were meh, the the rest of the season was good.
>>14500 This.
>>14503 It just all felt a bit too forced. I assume they were made to stick to a script to see if there was any popularity. I'm hoping they're given a bit more freedom to just do whatever they want during the second season.
>>14500 Toward the second half you could tell it got better. I'm sure the producers know by now that it's better to let them do what they will. Top Gear was scripted too
>>14535 Top Gear seem to get more scripted in the latter seasons. It's just the degree of scripting I guess. Obviously there has to be some sort of basic script but TGT seemed like everything, right down to every word they said, was read right of a script that was designed by a committee and put through focus groups and shit before airing.
>>14536 I agree.
>>14500 I dont mind scripted stuff as long as they aren't trying to convince you that its genuine, and they tend to make it obvious when certain parts are staged/scripted. It's just that not a whole lot of the scripted stuff was funny, especially during the first half.
I enjoyed it and I'll watch season 2. I hope they get rid of that bit where they kill off celebrities. It got old pretty quick.
>>14597 I'm afraid it looks grim for season 2. Don't read the comments if you value your sanity. It's full of "B-but Top Gear was scripted, too!!!!"

>>14650 Really? That's strange, on my end all I can see are endless swathes of mouthbreathing marks that base the quality of an entire season that no-one has yet seen over a handful of minute-long promos. If it turns out to be shit, then fair game, you played your cards right and I ought to have been less impartial. If it ends up so far down the deep end it doesn't even appeal to me, then I'll stop watching it. I have no intention of replacing the show with any online offering though I do watch a few from time to time. And no, I don't give a shit what anybody says, nothing will get me to watch CuckGear unironically. Not until the day BBC announces it's pulling the plug.
>>14660 Oh, look, you're the other half. The first season was shit and I can hear farts in their promo videos. Can you guess what that makes me think?

>>14779 So what? Motorised chairs and couches are fun to everyone.

>>14782 Fuck it, I'm probably revealing my power level far too soon but here's a little something I've been working on the past few weeks. BBC releases OGTG on an online network a la WWE when? There are huge empty swathes as I work through the BBC Genome guide, particularly pre-1989/post-1997 and what I do have has been thoroughly molested by VHS wear and BBC Copyright Jews who demand clips taken down for stuff no-one has been able to see in any form for at least 20 years.
>>14785 >'81-'88 Lucky man. I've got everything from '89 onward.
>>14788 >'89 onward You serious (as in, everything) or did you just grab the '89 - '92 torrent that everyone knows about and what I used to build this off of? Show your folder please. Some of the later episodes I got have their sound removed partway in thanks to the faggot kikes silencing the whole thing and this was something that was very recent, gauging from some of the comments on the videos in question.
(610.03 KB 1499x687 tgp.png)

>>14790 >'89 - '92 torrent Nope. I grabbed some top gear pack I think it was called Ultimate Top Gear Pack v3. '93 is missing episodes and there's one damaged video in '91, but apart from that everything is in pretty decent shape. Apologies for the shitty paint mash together; everything is in it's own folders.
>>14791 Yeah, that's what I meant, sorry. I started off with that as a base and am adding to it with acquisitions from Youtube and Dailymotion, stitching them together in Vegas (one episode in particular had four different uploaders who each posted a segment to their respective channels, was a real pain to assemble). I'll probably end up taking it to Plebbit though no harm done since that's where the Ultimate pack originated from and it's the quickest way to get my efforts seen since FinalGear's been dead for quite a while in the vain hopes someone has some old dusty tapes they haven't digitized yet. I think that's enough of that for now, anyway. Let the discussion carry on as normal for the time being and I'll update once I think I have everything.
>>14792 Ah gotcha. Sorry to get your hopes up.
>Going off a cliff and exploding to bits Hell of a way to start a season.
>>14809 >cliff Gentle slope.
>>14810 That's an incredibly offensive term, anon. I will have to call the racism rozzers now.
Thoughts on new Stig?
>>14844 7/10. man face
>>14848 She's a good driver though I'm liking this better than that stupid American character.
>>14844 Literally who? >>14857 She knows to keep her mouth shut.
I like that they aren't letting Hammond live down crashing his car

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U22HWXVrSVM >>14902 He has proven he can't drive in a straight line. Sorry about the shitty video, just turn off the sound.
>>14844 Would put in benis
I think we can safely say that gymkhana fags are on suicide watch.
>>14962 That Farmkana thing was pretty funny, i laughed most of the way through it.
>>14667 How's all that hard truism edge working out for you, bitchlord? Go complain about how it's not series 9 Top Gear recreated in exact on FinalGear where you belong.

Who knew that the best off-road car is a 50 year old Jaguar 420.
>>14972 >So angry about me not liking season one he sages I don't get it. Do you sell amazon video subscriptions for a living or something? Provide a magnet link if you want me to watch it so badly.
>>15021 I am not the guy you are replying to, but i feel obligated to express my suprise for you not having found your own website for free movies. Get Popcorn Time, it's great. Can be slow when seeder and leecher amounts are over 1:1
>>15043 I'd do that with my Clio too.

Why were there so many people on the track in the rally film? What kind of idiot stands in a crowd on a track that has cars racing through it? Also god damn I want one of these now. I wish Italian cars were more common in America, they are beautiful.
>>15050 Have you never watched a rally race before?
(31.09 KB 480x360 noZ-48N1Pnw.jpg)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noZ-48N1Pnw >>15050 You must not have been to a rally even, right? Even with modern day safety regulations, the best place from where to watch rally is in the trajectory any car would take if it flew off the track. Being in danger is part of the fun in rallying. Both for drivers and watchers. And back in the 80s, there were little n means of safety regulatons, and rallying was much more popular. These days you hardly get a poster in local lewspaper stand or a hashtag in social media.
>>15057 >>15064 I understand standing next to the track, you want to be able to see, what I'm talking about is the large crowds standing in the middle of the road, only parting a second before the cars drove through. You're right, I've never watched a rally race before, but I've always held the general idea in my mind that you shouldn't stand in the path of a speeding car.
>>15079 Seems hard to belive anyone actualy did that, right? I wonder if people from 80s would belive that 40 years later people would potentialy hurt themselves because of challenge seen on internet? Times change, that's the reason. It was just seen as the thing to do.
>>15064 Rally cars went to shit due to all the regulations that came in the late 80's. Same way that Touring cars went to shit.
You find interesting things in the Pyrenees fog. Clarkson also displays the peak of British engineering.
>Penn is on >Shitposts about big guys, trash and gender fluid fags wew
Welp, a trio of episodes to go and it has to be said the last 3 - 4 episodes have been consistently high in quality, better than anything post-S15 of Old New Top Gear. Only if you're a fag did you not find them entertaining in the slightest. As I said before, you can't expect a show undergoing such a massive change and spending 18 months off the air to be immediately good, especially when the last few seasons of the show they came from weren't that stellar. Now though? The stage is set for S3 to be the best one yet. I'll be genuinely surprised if they lose their stride any time soon.
>>15123 Sheds are great for design.
where can i watch this for free?
>>15149 Bmovies.to ir pretty legit, as long as you keep adblock on.
>>15153 awesome thanks anon
The rest of the world, are you even trying?
>>15156 just try to corner that in one of our small European towns, just for fun.
>>15157 >>15156 They have a point. If you need a usefull vehicle, get a pickup. If you need a family car for groceries and 5 kids, get a minivan. SUVs are just big. They have no other noticable advantages over sedans these days.
(65.90 KB 710x340 40 inch land cruiser.jpg)

>>15158 But anon, being big is the advantage of SUVs :^)
>>15149 Torrents.
(168.91 KB 1280x720 maxresdefault.jpg)

Yeah, whether you liked it or not, you could tell they phoned that last one in. But hey, it wasn't even supposed to be a special to begin with, due to Richard and Jeremy's respective brushes with death it looks like they had to pull an S22 finale and dump all the footage intended to be dripfed into a single lump sum episode, this time for the worse. Personally I would've preferred it if they cut it down to 30 or so minutes and interspersed it with the usual segments but we still have the off-season special in Colombia coming out sometime near the Summer to look forward to, which would have otherwise taken the spot of this week's episode.
>>15158 >>15159 There's quite a few estate cars that BTFO of SUVs when it comes to offroad while naturally beating them at utilitarian stuff; two that I've driven that come to mind are the Subaru Legacy and the Volvo V70. SUVs are really cars for retards unless you are getting the equivalent of a Discovery or Range Rover and only those, none of those vulgar sport options Anything else are crap cars for insecure people.
>>15206 >SUVs are really cars for retards *were - the world moved on to crossovers quite a while ago. Nowadays it's a car solely for poor hood niggers due to the oldest Escalades turning 20 next year. "Pimpers" got rid of theirs a long time ago once they realized the meme was stale and returned to ruining malaise-era coupes, except slamming them on ridiculous suspensions and calling them donks this time around.
(21.41 KB 480x360 A passat.jpg)

>>15210 W8, please explain yourself. So you are implying that not all crossovers are SUVs? All crossovers are SUVs, but not all SUVs are crossovers, some are actual offroaders. Also that new Caddy Escalade is just a hueg universal. Look at those proportions. The proportions of a fucking 1st gen VW Passat. They just multiplied every size by 2.
(833.83 KB 2048x1364 image.jpg)

>>15211 Not him but you're messing up the words here. Crossovers are cars that are made to look like all terrain cars. SUVs are, like they imply, fast, large and capable in off-road. So no, cars can't be both SUV and crossovers. Crossover was a word used by Renault to call its small and SUVesque cars, that aren't sporty nor utilitarian, they just have the looks of an SUV. Now car dealers call all crossovers SUVs, which is completely misleading. See the pic related. This is the size of a small hatchback and has a 1.0l 80hp engine. Don't call that a SUV.
(92.59 KB 750x500 serveimage.jpg)

>>15212 So a crossover is taking a car that isn't meant for off-road and making it look "off-roady"?
>>15216 exactly. It's for looks only.
