After that begun the unfortunate yet inevitable transformation of the car from a dependable, affordable, straightforward hatchback to a bloated, big budget caricature of its former self. Whether it was the compact with the all-glass grill and triangular exhausts or the baby Integra the US Civic morphed into neither car accurately represented the legacy it had built up over the course of 3 decades. Also the EP Type-R was a literal rice rocket that can still murder most vehicles on the road produced today, the only reason it got caught in vid related was because the cops were able to hear the sound of the exhaust from enough of a distance to track it down.
