The LTC model TX5 cab offers adequate highway traversal to a total of 8 people while providing high miles per gallon and safety precautions that simply were not there 30 years ago. If the damn thing's reliable it'll be breath-takingly good at taking a family's worth of crap across any given country. What you also can't fail to notice is that it's breath-takingly ugly. Design remit and design purpose are not the same thing. Of course it meets the remit. It's designed to be a box and does it's job exceedingly well. But the ambition to make the box look like a spaceship or a stiletto is dead. Excruciatingly dead - infact design principles in general are dead. I could tell you that regulations killed them off, but the same thing appears in pokemon and pokemon aren't regulated. The simple answer is that art colleges lost their shit and dumbed down their curriculum. I don't know why they did it. I don't know what's in it for them seeing as you would think that cheapening your product would eventually bite you in the ass. Perhaps with there being no barrier to entry and so many wannabe art students, these colleges keep making money and don't get held to account by said people who can't tell that their tuition prepares them for nothing and is shit. All I can say is that the reality is ugly so I'm left pining for car designs from the 50's.
