>There are people on this board who drive with an automatic transmission Why would you do that?
who gives a shit?
>>16184 Keeps a hand free for drive-fapping.
>>16195 >Pleasuring yourself instead of pleasuring your car Selfish
>>16196 >pleasuring your car >automatic What else could he ever do if he drives an automatic?
>>16198 You can't pleasure your car if you drive an automatic. You can't gently caress her shifter while dominating her clutch and telling her exactly when to shift, as a man should. Driving an automatic and making the car do all the work puts you on the path to making the car maintain you lane, and even park for you, until eventually you're just letting yourself be cucked by a self-driving computer. It's a man's responsibility to work just as hard for his car as she does for him.
>>16184 Women are unfortunately allowed to drive cars.
>>16200 I wish my car would want my cock.

I drive a car to get to places. I appreciate them, I know how to work a clutch, I just prefer automatics because i'm fucking lazy. No special excuses, I just don't like driving a stick.

>>16532 UMAD BRO ?
Every one of the oldfags I know gives the same line about how they "used to enjoy stick, but they just don't want to fool with it anymore." I guess getting old makes you too lazy to drive properly. It is admittedly a pain in the ass to drive manual in grid-locked stop-and-inch traffic, but it's part of the experience.
>>16539 >grid-locked stop-and-inch traffic Put it in first, let the clutch out, take your foot off the gas entirely, creep forward. If you have to hit the brakes, you're doing it wrong. Then sit back and revel in the exasperation of the autofags for having the audacity to leave more than a foot of space between your bumper and the guy in front of you.
>>16544 Will that work in stop-go traffic too? I ask as someone that lives in an area with in the evening when I'm going home. 45-min to an hour to go less than 20 miles and I always hit stop-go traffic every 3 yards or so. I just worry with being a rookie manual driver I'm going to stall out 5-10 times on my way home. I'm only driving an auto car since it was handed down to me 10 years ago and refuses to die and I refuse to replace it till it's dead for good since I like saving money as much as I can and I admit I have an emotional attachment to it since I've spent most of my life in it even before I could driver.
>>16593 Why the hell would you stall? Just keep focus on what you're doing, I never stall in bumper to bumper traffic, even if the road is a slope.
>>16599 >completely stopped >in gear >completely off the gas >letting off the clutch >rookie manual driver >"Why the hell would you stall?" Oh gee, I don't know. Btw, how the hell do you clutch control on a slope?
>>16605 Tbh I never let go the clutch without giving it a bit of gas on a petrol engine. This isn't true on diesel rides. For slopes, I always give the gas pedal a moderate push each time I release the clutch. My shitbox is too underpowered to just play with the clutch anyways (65 hp lel).
It really depends on traffic. If you live in a third world shithole with nightmare traffic like I do then you will appreciate automatics. Manual cars are definitely superior, though.
>>16607 You don't need power for clutch-only driving. Just torque. Which is why over half of Euros drive diesels
(139.51 KB 326x226 ClMzSTG.png)

>>16605 Because I'd be new at it?
>>16639 If you drive it every day, stalling will become an old bad dream in only a month time. I've always driven manual rides and frankly, it only take a month to get used to it.
>>16639 >>16605 >clutch control on a slope Move your feet faster or use all 3 pedals at once (its called heel and toe or something like that). My technique for starting on hill: (Mazda 323f, no torque, some horsepower) <Brake as little as possible to not roll back (right foot) <Clutch to the floor, put it in gear <Without releasing the brake, give it a little throttle with the right foot (usually toe, sometimes heel if the hill is steep and i need lots of throttle) >Alternate: Left foot on clutch, right on the brake. Quickly release the brake, give it about 20-40% throttle, release the clutch slitghtly faster then usual <Carefully release the clutch until it starts grabbing <Release the brake And you are moving! In driving school they taught me something about handbrake start on a hill (to hold the car still by handbrake, operate the peadals as usaly, but release the brake once the clutch starts grabbing. I guess i adapted that move to the footbrake, because i don't like to stand still in gear). In any well-working engine above 1.8 4-cylinder you can start without throttle, but that takes very carefull clutch-work.
>>16646 pssst You can use the handbrake to free one foot Don't tellanyone, it's a secret!
>>16184 Left handed people exist.

>>16690 Not an excuse.
>>16691 Nations that are known for manual clutch tend to favor right hand drive. Cucked nations that prefer automatic and cater to the weakness of such individuals favorleft hand drive. Coincidence? I think not.
>>16693 I hope you're a weak troll.
>>16694 >>16695 It can't be bait if it's true :^)
>>16697 I'll take the bait: What about all the EU nations, which all favor manual clutch rides, who all have LFD?
>>16700 When I think about it I can only think of Finland, Sweden and Italy that favor manual and even then they used to be RHD. France and Germany tend to overall be automatics. Russia might be manual I don't know enough about it. Shit lads I think actually after looking this shit up there might be some truth to it. Japan and UK are majority manual while US and Aus are autocucks
>>16701 >France and Germany >Automatic You don't know anything about the EU, right? I'm French, I've never driven an automatic and I don't know anyone who isn't disabled who drives an automatic. Now go back to your incultured hole. >Italy >RHD Like when, in 1900? Stop talking about what you don't know will you?
>>16700 Yeah but they can't drive for shit? :^)
Automatics are better because they can change gears much faster than manuals.
>>16712 Not all automatic transmissions have dual clutches and are fast. Try to race a Prius and telĺme how fast it changes gear for the lulz. Also we aren't all living in a racetrack.
(110.52 KB 1300x867 would you a broccoli.jpg)

>>16693 I bet this has something to do with the majority of people being right handed, and so it's better to have your right hand on the wheel (dominant hand) and left to shift gears.
>>16757 Stop feeding the troll.
>>16757 No. And stop feeding the troll.
>>16759 >>16760 >t.lefthanded weaklings
>>16767 Troll again
>>16605 Don't listen to this idiot>>16646 You have emergency brake for a reason. Just release the clutch slowly and apply gas till you feel the car move forward abit. Then disengage e-brake and continue with the gas
But what about vehicles with select shift? Sure its still an automatic, but I have the freedom to override the computer and select which gear I choose to be in.
>>16980 It's an electronic override, so it's still a disguised automatic. The manual clutch is what makes the salt of the manuals.
