First car, Newfag EUfag Driver 08/14/2018 (Tue) 18:08:03 Id: 2983fb No. 16653
which one would you pick, I just got my drivers-licence and want to buy a reliable occasion. I know the jag isn't as reliable as the others but I think it's pretty.
>>16653 Obviously the small BMW hatchback. Was there ever even a question? It's a goddamn RWD hatchback with enough power to do some maneuering but not enough power to kill you on the first corner. The Jag and Lexus are too full of outdated tech that is going to kill itself eventually, and too many Lancers have fartcan exausts for me to love them.
What >>16654 said. Where the fuck do you live to have lancers? I never see them. Pick an older jag if you want one or consider a Rover V6

If you have to get a Lancer, don't get the X. Consider also the humble pre-99 Celica
>>16653 Id pick Mitsubishi because it looks the coolest out of them all, and they arent too common either so thats cool also.
>>16653 As a first car I wouldn't get any of them >I know the jag isn't as reliable as the others but I think it's pretty. Pretty old yeah, and good luck finding one that hasn't been used in a crime of some sort.
>>16836 You got some ideas? I'm not OP but I also wonder about my first car. I want it to be flashy or something. Just don't want to buy som eusual car, that will disapper. So I decided to look for older cars that could be considered as classical looking or just from bygone design era. Got any ideas for that& Sorry, not very good at expressing my thoughts
>>16851 I need a first car too and everyone is telling me to get a honda civic because my criteria are >easily repairable (available parts) >will last a long time basically the opposite of flashy. If I was gonna get a "flashy" expensive car I'd want something fun to drive, and probably an older interesting design, like you mention. I have a soft spot for weird designs. anyway now I have to figure out how to buy a civic and not get jewed i don't know shit about cars, sorry for shitting up your board

>>16852 The early model Q45s from the early 90s didn't have a front grille as a weird experimental design. You'd be hard pressed to find one with under 100k miles though.
(32.72 KB 640x480 Volkswagen Passat B3 (1).jpg)

>>16860 If you are a sucker for grillless car designs that you can actually find and afford, the VW Passat B3 is the car for you
>>16862 Where the fuck are you supposed to find those in working order
>>16862 In Yurop, of course. Because Infiniti did not start selling cars in Yurop until they had those stupid SUVs. Anything before them is unobtainium.
>>16653 get a corolla and seat covers that you can put some coke in and gain road experience while making thousands of $$$ on the side
Get the Lexus IS, no brainer. RWD, nice interior, quiet, toyota quality. Jag and BMW will be nothing but trouble, lancer is a shitbox unless you get an evo which shouldn't be an option. Acura TSX/Honda Accord with the 2.4 is a great option too for a first/cheap car. Lexus ES is good for larger/cushier interior but fwd.
Get an older camry. Had one as my first car at 100k on rhe odometer. Put about 200k on it because I do a lot of travelling for work, so I can confirm they will outlast the death of the universe if taken proper is taken. Sold it a few months ago to someone else for their first car, and I still see it around when I visit home. TLDR: Get a Camry, dont worry about the miles cause it'll outlast your entire bloodline.
>>16992 >EUfag >Camry Toyota only sells Camrys in NA.
>>16995 Did by NA you mean Australia, Asia, NA, East Europe and West Europe.
>>16997 Well I drove all around the EU and I can tell you there's no Camry here so I'm gonna disregard the rest of your post as false too.

>>17000 Camrys are very rare here in the UK, thought for the longest time they weren't sold here and never even saw one until I was around 15. Apparently they were briefly sold in the late 90s until 2003, when its slot in the lineup was replaced with the Avensis, which was more or less a Corolla sedan. I know someone at my University that owns an almost showroom-condition R-reg '98 example, similar to pic related except in white.
>>17001 The UK's alaways been an exception in the EU. Your buyers act differently. But I can also tell you that some Belgian and Netherdland buyers also had the Camry, but it sold so few it, like you said, was replaced by the Avensis (which still sells like shit but less). My point was that finding a Camry in the EU was horribly hard and you'd have to drive 500 kms for one and if y ou don't know how to repair your cars, for this one it's kaput since your regular Toyota machanic has probably never seen one.
>>17001 Did they have the proper engine in them?

I'm eyeing one of these, how's the transmission on them and whatever problems you guys had. Sorry for the small question.
>>17781 That's a big car
>>17782 Thank you.
