HELP! 10 day old green spot from milk stain in carpet! G 08/21/2018 (Tue) 00:05:35 Id: a7766e No. 16709
<TL;DR> Car carpet otherwise flawless had milkshake spilled on it that sat for 10 days how do I clean it out, get the green spots out and get the nasty smell out? I just noticed today that the milkshake I thought fell when I left it on top my car like 10 days ago was actually just tucked away laying on its side right on/(in) my front passenger side carpet (not the mat). This bitch sat there for 10 days until I went grocery shopping and realized what happened! I immediately went to cleaning it but alas there are three green spots (and a nasty smell) still left on the carpet. I took really good care of this 1999 Cadillac SeVille STS the interior is otherwise flawless… I've tried using a steamer with bissel fluid mix but it doesn't seem to be coming up all the way. Is there any way I can get these green spots out of my carpet!? Should I try a quick bleach and rub w/ water and then suck it up with the steamer tool? This shit sucks. Not sure if I should be posting this as a separate thread I just really need help. It doesn't help that the carpet is like a cream/white either!

I can also provide a picture of the spots if need be, they're not big or spreading yet but I'm trying to prevent that!

>>16710 Can you remove the carpet? If yes, hang it and let it dry, you'll have a crust you could suck away. It's staying moldy this because it's inside your car which is a closed environnement.

Clean the carpet thoroughly, or maybe even get a new one, after that give the interior an ozone bath to get rid of the smell. Obviously, don't be inside when you're flooding it with ozone.

It was really bad before I cleaned it now all that's left is these 3 really stubborn green spots. Me and my Dad are gonna try vinegar before we go for the bleach. Not too sure how much work is involved getting that carpet out, if it involves removal of the seat might as well not even bother lol.

Polyester is immune to basically anything *except* bleach which will take the dyes out, and the kind of spill you have is biological so all you'll need is some sort of body-temperature-warm detergent solution and a bit of patience. I've never cleaned a car carpet in my life ever I swear. Ohh but I have cleaned sofa fabric. I say "cleaned", It had yellow mustard on it that wouldn't come out so I put ink from a pen on it. I did it because the couch was for sale and didn't care if the guy who buys it suffers my half assed job of making it look presentable. It's not permanent but you can do that if the green is still there when you come to sell it.

The Pontiac was my first car D: .I don't think I'd ever get rid of the Caddy though, definite upgrade from the beater I had before lol albeit expensive repairs. Wiper arm for that bitch was 100 dollars, light housings were like 400 new, (got a good condition one for 100 and had my dad make it look like new). Hey OP since you're here, would you recommand a Cadillac Seville? I'm a Eurofag and I wanna drive a different luxury ride and I have no idea if it's reliable or not and how comfortable it is.

>>16762 The 99 SeVille is a great car, and most of the repair work it needs can be done without those advanced computers. It's very comfortable and fast, it has a 32 valve v8 northstar engine. If you don't mind some of the more expensive repairs. If you're talking about like a 2018 Cadillac SeVille I have no idea, the "newest" car in my driveway is an 07, not a big fan of new cars especially that gay non-key ignition crap.

My car is okay now by the way, just took a few deep steam cleans from someone really experienced with that shit. Also baking powder spread over the spot neutralized the smell, just vacuum it up lightly don't press down.
