i wouldn't call mazda a luxury car brand, but the cx 9 is pretty damn luxurious. many volvos are classified as luxury cars.

Luxury shouldn't mean an engine chosen for economical reasons. The engine should be more than what is necessary, that is why it is considered a luxury.

Personally, I think Volvos, while looking quite nice, are overpriced for the engines you get. Mazda strikes be as a company where you'll get a similar amount of car (with the exception of interior finish and sound systems) for a much more reasonable amount of money.
