Inserting keys will become a classic when push to start is standard.
Is this a shitpost or a debate?
>>17273 It's a fact, everything I say is right.

>not already having push-to-start because you wired every single system to its own dedicated switch plebs tbh
>>17321 What's the advantage of doing this?
>>17335 >park car >Take fuel pump fuse Good luck stealing that shit
>>17335 Simplifies wiring, easier to troubleshoot, more rugged because there's no computers to worry about. Also lets you do certain tricks like run the starter with the ignition off to build compression and oil pressure (really handy if you're running an ignition system with locked timing) or run the fuel pump to build fuel pressure (EFI)/fill your float bowls (carburetor) before firing it up. You could also run the water pump (if you installed an electric one) and the cooling fan to cool off the engine without running it. More of a racecar thing than anything else.
>>17336 You can already take the fuel pump relay out of most any car though, they fit in your pocket
>>17338 Yeah, but those rewired ones are in plain view, it's way quicker than having to wiggle one out between the other million fuses in the fuse box.

>Push to start standardized No, actually. They're doing something much worse; trying to standardize smartphone-start ignition. >Family's been dealer surfing for a while >We try out a Hyundai >No push-start or keyhole >Huh? >Requires a phone app to start. >What the fuck? Smartphones are the new windows in terms of computer security, this shit is basically adding a gaping hole to an already leaky bucket! <"Well, that's how it's gonna be, anon. That's what the dealer says." >ford is another company that's pushing this bullshit. It burns me that half the marketing ploys of technology today is "stuff a computer with outsourced firmware into this thing, and call it the next best thing since silicon wafers".
>>17405 Doesn't matter; more for the scrapheap for when their planned obsolescence runs its course. Driver's cars will be coming back sooner or later. 2030 at the latest, when everyone starts building exclusively electric that almost no-one will buy.
