Some of us actually use vehicles for their intended purpose

Nice truck, ruined with a set of HID fog lamps, some truly horrible wheels and too much front lift.

Starting today, I'll be bumping up older threads that I deem worthy of saving from the eternal death of the 404 for discussion purposes. Have a nice Brabus 700 that fits both this thread and the Benz one.
>>9508 One thing that's interesting to note is that an unbumped thread stores the old version of the board .css until it gets bumped by someone else. You can try it yourself, go to the catalog and click a thread at the very bottom. It's like a shitty form of time machine.

Was the 97-03 era of the F150 as badly received as wikipedia claims it was? It seems to be the last gen of that truck before Ford decided "let's make our smallest/weakest full size truck fucking huge and super tall so manlets can compensate for their lack of height" but I've seen it being supposedly true that this gen got shit on for "looking too much like a car". t. plenty happy owner of '03 F150 in a basic work configuration, brother owns an '04 F150 in fancy configuration while being even taller than me, and used to work with a 5'2" manlet that owned an '05 F150 Also why is every truck so FUCKING expensive anymore, even at basic spec? You have to go for the ugly double-cab-only Chevy/GMshit if you want to go below $30k, and those are ugly as shit and terrible. Where's the true S-10 and Sonoma replacement? Why is the revival of the Ranger some fuckhuge double cab monstrosity? Why is the true compact truck market forcibly relegated to foreign manufacturers? Why does nobody know how to make a truck a truck anymore? Probably the same reason every standard modern car is some ugly crossover meme that has no actual trunk? Modern vehicles are just a market of feels.
>>14032 Eurofag here, the new small trucks are coming here because the market is slightly growing, that´s why they start meeting European standards. This goes for the Ranger, the MV 2000, the Hilux, the Navara, and the new contenders, Renault Alaskan and Mercedes X-class. Note that I see more and more imported Dodge RAM round here.
>>14032 yeah it's a lot of shit, most people could get away with an extended cab mini truck with a 4 banger and an option for 4x4. I think toyota has that market right now, but those still seem big imo. I really think a small no frills truck with a simple 2L turbo diesel and a 5/6 speed trans would do well here in the states, that would be my kind of daily.
>>14032 just get a 90s mini truck

>>14042 >2L That's going too far, I think. Just bringing back what the US small truck market used to be instead of making it like pic 1 I think would be enough. >>14036 More casual than the usual /o/ poster probably, so I don't know that much. Are the European standards what's making them all ugly, electronics-filled, and all but getting rid of the traditional regular cab? >>14148 I already have a truck, am not in the market nor living condition apartment complex for getting another one, just discussing. Luckily I live in idaho so old vehicles are in great shape unless the owner actively breaks it. Mine looks practically brand new despite being 14 years old and used by the previous owner as a work truck at a gravel pit.
>>14161 Look at the fucking Citroën C4 Cactus. Or the Opel Adam. Or even the Renault Captur. These shits are the regular rides in Europe and are electronic-filled hatchback pseudo-crossover trash. When a European thinks about a pickup truck, he thinks big, wide and useless flatbed. When a European buys a pickup truck, he never uses the cargo bay, he just drives it. So yeah, he cannot comprehend why there's no space for their children/coworkers in the back in a double cabin. And as the American brands are the top sellers in pickup trucks, they come to the European and foreign markets with their smaller trucks saying >hey we have them like you want them! And they don't make the regular single cab, small engine pickup truck because cost productions.
