ITT: Cars That Make You Rage Anonymous 09/24/2015 (Thu) 00:05:06 Id: 0c1c64 No. 6373
Pic related. I FUCKING HATE THIS CAR EVERY GOD DAMNED TIME I SEE IT FUCK
>>6373 It boogles my mind that you still see them considering how much of a money pit they are. What makes your rage about them?
>>6375 They just look so… obnoxious. They look like THE quintessential bitchmobile. In my opinion, the Boxster doesn't have ANYTHING on this thing in that regard. That and the fact that they were shoved into Need For Speed 4 ;_;
(225.49 KB 1024x669 1999-Jaguar-XK8.jpg)

Do you mean the Convertible in particular or the entire model? I think they look pretty good.' That said the only one I've been close to is at the shop I work at and it's a piece of shit through and through
(157.98 KB 1968x1184 06-08_Chrysler_PT_Cruiser.jpg)

>>6377 Eh, just the convertible. The hardtop looks okay, I suppose. >tfw live next to someone who owns one that looks like OP pic related
>>6385 Jesus fucking christ I hate that peice of shit With an engine bay tighter than a nun's ass it cannot be worked on. It's THE quinnisential "can't drive but can't afford a BMW" car, fuck everyone who owns one, they always veer so close to my lane, then so close to the oncoming traffic, it makes me furious just fucking watching them fucking christ hot shit they make me writhe with fucking fury
>>6385 this x99999999999 FUCK THESE CARS AD THEIR ABSOLUTELY HORRID DRIVERS
(52.25 KB 640x480 10037Sep15_02c.jpg)

I'm sorry, did you need to go somewhere? CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! Fixed the problem? I STILL WON'T GO ANYWHERE UNTIL YOU USE A THOUSAND DOLLAR PROGRAM TO RÜCKSETZEN THE DROSSELKLAPPENGEHÄUSE! They tried to warn me, /o/. I didn't listen.
(142.52 KB 420x315 xb-tail-light.jpg)

Without exaggeration, my most hated car in the world >ugly >terrible acceleration >terrible braking >interior is not great, considering the price its at >not good at turning beyond 5mph because lol body height >gen 2 had an asymmetrical tail light on the bumper FOR NO REASON. >obnoxious ad campaign that desperately wanted the car to be "cool" >only people that drive it are shitty drivers that are either old folks with arthritis or stoner college kids TWO of my friends own this automotive offense to the senses and neither of them are car guys obviously. The ONLY thing it has going for it is a surprisingly roomy interior for a car its size
>>6376 dudebro, the quints mobile bitch is the merc E klasse, followed by the perch cyane
(164.56 KB 1800x1153 Subaru-BRZ.jpg)

These, I fucking hate these. I hate that people are gullible enough to spend 30k on one. I hate that those same dumbfucks are so completely stupid they think it is somehow the end all be all sports car I hate how they never shut up about how awesome it is. I have driven or ridden in nearly every model of sports car made in the past 30 years. The only thing remarkable about the toyobaru is how normie can'tdrives have swarmed over it as a fashion accessory. This car makes a 15 year old, $7000 S2000 feel exotic. That is how pedestrian it is. Riding your mom would be more exciting.
(75.51 KB 800x600 38994564001_original.jpg)

This Jew mobile here. Stupid cock sucking weaboos and their fucking subarus. This and all and any other vehicle that has been fitted with JDM, EURODM, HELLA or what ever fucking cool race term named after market parts. Really niggers that stupid "european spec type r hella flush skunkworks titanium" taillights do not justify the fucking 5000% price mark up on your shitmobile. I don't care if you added a lip or a cool fancy shift knob or a cat back. Your vehicle is not worth the 9000 Jew shekels. I can get a fucking e39 m5 or a base n/a supra for that price and make more horsepower than your grandmother can put out of her vagina. Or I can get a fucking oddysey and make my kids smile while I pass you when running on VCM (that's Hondas proprietary "fuck you nigger you're running on 3cyls now" software.) Oh and by the way, great way to blow your student loans.
fuck the juke fuck the whore who designed the new nsx
>>6441 The new NSX is a good looking car, and a bad looking NSX.
>>6442 Yep they should have dipped the rear end and square it off or work off the nsx fine use of polygons on its rear end. But why the duck do I care. I'll never own one so…
(28.37 KB 437x432 bmw_logo_2.jpg)

I don't have a clue why people buy these shitboxes.
(237.04 KB 1200x840 1200.jpg)

>>6385 I owned one. Was given to me as a gift. Basically impossible to work on. Electrical demons like you wouldn't believe. Doors would lock and unlock at random, radiator fan would run when it felt like, even if the car was off. Thanks for raising my blood pressure, thinking about that car.
>>6462 WELL SLAP MY FUCKING SHIT UP, BRO. LOOK AT THAT DUMB FUCK, THINKING HE'S ALL THE SHIT IN THAT DUMB FUCKING CAR THAT MAKES THE SOLARA LOOK LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING SPORTS CAR HOT BLOODY SHIT I WANT TO TRACK THE AUTHOR DOWN AND KILL HIM BY CRAMMING HIM INTO AN EMPTY PTCRUISER ENGINE BAY, FUCK
>>6466 >Not getting the joke.
>>6470 JOKES HAVE NO WAY THEOUGH MY WALL OF SHIT COVERED. FLAMING FUCKING FURY
>>6404 >>6466 >>6475 You're a beautiful human being, I want you to know that.
>>6485 Y-you too, Anon.
>>6441 Am I the only one that thinks the new nsx looks like a japped up R8?
>>6525 Nope >designed by women* >*stolen and modified design

>>6412 And they only get worse as time passes.
>>6373 But its pretty?
>>6422 Decent and fun performance with decent mpgs. Why hate?
>>11016 I don't think he's going to reply after over a year so maybe I can try to give an explanation from his point of view… Think of it like an Apple product. It's expensive, not significantly better than it's competitors, and stupid hipsters buy it. Stereotypical owners rave about how good it is even though it isn't really better than anything else you can buy for the same money. Other new sports cars: BMW 2 series at $33k; Miata at $25k; Fiat 124 Spyder at $25k (pretty sure it's based on the Miata); WRX at $27k (!); Focus ST at $24k; Fiesta ST at $21k. If it sold for maybe $22k or something it would be a fine car. But at it's current price point you aren't getting much car. There is also the attraction from tuners, which I'm not even sure is as big as some think it is. It isn't a cheap base. Give it several years, though, and I'm sure it will be very popular among actual enthusiasts.
>>6422 I like it. I like it a lot if I didn't want an older car, I would buy one
(208.76 KB 2060x1288 chevrolet-hhr-6.jpg)

>>6385 dont forget the even uglier evolution that Chevy put out
>you'll never be european enough to own a japanese car smaller than a smart
NOTE: older/newer gens of these cars are OK but these specific ones are pozzed and so are the drivers. Honorable mentions: any GM that isn't a corvette, teslas, any nissan that isn't a skyrine

>>11041 Also, import a fucking Vivio you faggot. They're legal for import next year.
>you will never own a 850 TT5/R >let alone a Justy 4WD ECVT because only 4 of them are left here in NL
>>11041 >>11019 >BMW Unreliable Mean shit. >Miata gay >Fiat even gayer >wrx dude, Im not a rally crosser >Ford made in Mexico
>>11122 >2 door roadster with a manual transmission >gay
>>11117 there's no kei car in Europe though. >>11118 why the fuck would I? I hate these shits. And they actually can't be imported in Europe.

>>6385 >PT Cruiser >shit I actually like it.
>>11137 ahaahah that is a tasteful conversion i have never seen that before.
>>6422 Used to work at a car dealership. I never got why people got these pieces of junk and think of it as some super fast sports car. 200 BHP does not a sports car make. If they had tossed a V6 in there, a turbo, or even both, then it likely would've been a damn good car! But nope, MUH FLAT FOUR NA. It can't do anything well except for go sideways on eco tires. >>6428 Hasn't it been about ten years since Subaru actually improved the engine on their Impreza or WRX? Why the fuck would anybody buy a new model if a 2004 can be MORE powerful?
>>6447 Because they're retards who care about "muh status". Literally the only reason why I could think of buying one is rear wheel drive in a little 135, which could be fun.
>>6577 Just like this post. A year on and it's even more shit.
(24.49 KB 500x330 CAB50CDC161A0101.png)

>>11042 Ive seen a few grand caravans on the side of the interstate that were on fire, all in the same week. they're fucking shit vans. 300c as well
>>11136 the Vivio was hardly ever sold here. Ok for the Alto, but in this way we have the Dihatsu Cuore and Move. Anyways I meant we have no kei car by the law. This doesn't change the fact that I hate these pieces of shit.
>>11148 People are retarded and judge you from what you have. If you have a "premium" german car, then you're successful, that means you can be trusted. Retarded but logical.
>>11151 I actually like the 300c, but not the new ones. (they are sold as Lancia Thema here, lel) What's so bad about them?
>>11165 Mostly driven by people who think they're rich since it "looks like" a Rolls Royce. Also these pics should say a lot about them.
>>11172 Somehow I posted the same pic twice in one post. I'm not even drunk I'm just being stupid.
>>11165 >rebadging a Chrysler as a Lancia disrespectful >What's so bad about them? It's the niggermobile. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Chrysler+300 >>11172 >>11173 I don't know how that is possible, normally you can't even post the same image twice in different posts…
>>11165 >selling a niggermobile under Lancia
>>11172 >Chooses an entirely different subset of people to justify his irrational hatred for 300C owners I can do the exact same thing for any car in existence, faggot.
>>11178 Guess you're a 300c owner. You bought a nigger car. Deal with it.
>>11179 Never owned a 300C in my life, I'm just pointing out your blatant faggotry. Get over yourself.
>>11178 >entirely different subset of people different from what?
(53.16 KB 600x450 S7-modele--lancia-thema-2.jpg)

>>11172 >>11173 >>11175 >>11176 >niggermobile I'm an Eurofag mate, I don't have this concept round here. Isn't it a car with a good quality/price ratio?
>>11194 well, no. niggermobile refers to cars that are low quality for a low price that are customized to look like luxury cars. ex. 300c, crown vic, chevy impala, oldsmobile, etc…. so low quality and low price. And its mostly an American thing.
>>11194 >>11195 I don't think it's because it's cheap ($32k base price isn't cheap), I think it's because it's a """luxury car""". American luxury cars, though, for at least the last 25 or so years, have been poorly built, slow, uncomfortable, and plastic. Basically they are shit. And for some reason that attracts black people from the ghetto. I think it may have to do with the 300 being associated with the mafia way back when? I really don't know why, other than that they are """luxury cars""". I guess they are cheap compared to imports. I haven't seen any "niggermobiles" as crown vics or any of the others you listed, but then I live in the PNW which is whiter than the northeast… It does seem somewhat paradoxical that they would drive crown vics, with them being retired cop cars. I think the stereotype mostly applies to the 300 specifically.
>>11195 >>11197 I see. Well it's still better than European non-luxury sedans (Peugeot, Renault, Ford Europe, Opel) and not as expensive as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW or Jaguar. Being American, what do you think about Cadillac? I find them stylish but I don't know about their reliabiliy
>>11207 Good, but still a fucking Jeep at heart.
>>11207 Cadillac is the only American brand that really gets anywhere close to rivaling the Germans in terms of performance and quality, but no one outside the US (and few inside it) take it seriously in that way. At least to me, they also have a similar stigma attached to them as Chrysler (Dodge and Jeep are okay in that respect, though). >>11211 >Cadillac >Jeep at heart what
>>11217 I'd love to own a Cadilliac although I'm European. The ATS/CTS are great imo.
>>11219 It's not, and if you were a burger you would know that too. it's like when burgers fetishize over skyrines because they are exotic to us and look cool, but they are turds IRL.
(1.06 MB 3000x2000 2016-Cadillac-CT6-025.jpg)

>>11220 I like exotics though. Alternatives in Europe are Mercedes-Benz C and E classes, Jaguar XE and XF, BMW 3, 4 and 5-series, Audi A4, A5 and A6, Volvo S70, Maserati Ghibli, Lexus IS, GS and RC and finally Infiniti Q50, 60 and 70. Quite frankly, I have no interest in Nissan/Toyota clones. German and UK rides are too common and the Volvo is too lumbering. At least Cadillac has a sweet design (not that it is the only brand looking good, mmkey).
>>11221 New cars are shit. They are heavy and over-regulated. The last good cars in any category were made in the 90s. >I have no interest in Nissan/Toyota clones. I'm not 100% sure what you mean by that, but are you aware that Lexus and Infiniti are the luxury divisions of Toyota and Nissan, respectively?
>>11222 I know that, but people being who they are, if you don't have top notch cars, you look like a bum and I can't look like a poor guy in my job. I'd buy an old Jag if you ask me. I know they are, this is why I said clones.
>>11223 >if you don't have top notch cars, you look like a bum and I can't look like a poor guy in my job Newer Bimmers, Mercs, Audis, Lexus and Infiniti are for tools and assholes (with some exceptions). Jags aren't bad imo. There are plenty of older, good looking, reliable cars that can have "top notch" overtones. Mercedes 240/300D, Saab 900, BMW E30 (and other Bimmers of that era) and Lexus LS400 I think this was sold in Europe? to name a few off the top of my head. I think the mid 90s S-Class is supposed to be good. Also the first generation Saab 9-5. Older cars (<1980) tend to exude an inherent classiness to normies, regardless of what they actually are. As long as it's clean you can get away with pretty much anything as long as it's bigger than an Austin Mini. Mercedes get extra classiness points. >I know they are, this is why I said clones. Clones of cars? What country do you live in where that is common?
>>11224 You don't get it. If it's not the state-of-the-art, last trendy car on the market, it's bad and you are unsuccessful in your job because you look like you can't afford the newer ride. This is why I'm all confused about which one to buy. (yes the LS400 was sold here, but very few made it on the streets) >What country do you live in where that is common? I mean this infinitis and lexuses are all rebranded nissans and toyotas. They lack proper distinction, like DS from Citroën, Dacia from Renault or Acura from Honda. Also the confort in these rides is subpar compared to European rides, at the same prices.
(447.51 KB 1641x1209 Renault_Modus_front_20080530.jpg)

This piece of crap right here has to be removed from Earth.
>>11236 Sounds like a pretty shitty job imo. But if you really have to have a new luxury car make it a Mercedes or a Jaguar. >I mean this infinitis and lexuses are all rebranded nissans and toyotas They aren't straight rebadges anymore. The early models were rebadges with softer suspension and leather seats, but nowadays they are (for the most part) pure-bred luxury cars. (yes a lot of them are based on chassis from the standard fleet but that's about all they have in common)
>>11240 Chassis sharing is pretty common anyway.
>>11240 I'm a lawyer, call it shitty if you want. I'd go for a Caddy or a Jag, luxurious and not-so-common. Mercs are good because reliable and fair-looking, but I hate their new interior with the ugly screens. I mean a japanese luxury car still has that apparent plastics and the leather isn't that good. It's also not as smooth to drive as the germans.
>>11254 >I'm a lawyer Must be a special kind of lawyer, I know a lawyer and he used to drive a Camry. >I mean a japanese luxury car still has that apparent plastics and the leather isn't that good. It's also not as smooth to drive as the germans. That is true.
>>11257 >Camry you forgot where I'm living. I'm not even special here. If I drove a shitbox, people won't be pleased to hear the fees I have to ask for defending their case. If I have a nice ride, they'll trust me. People are retarded.
>>11258 >you forgot where I'm living You never actually told us that beyond that you were a eurofag. I'm not implying that you should drive a Camry, just mentioning that a lawyer I know had one. I guess either he didn't give a fuck (he drives a Model S now) or "lawyer culture" is different here.
>>11260 I actually did >>11219 Nah, in the US, you're not as judged on your car as us, where I am. I guess there's that. But the model S is a very lawyer car lel
>>11264 >I actually did >You never actually told us that beyond that you were a eurofag. "European" doesn't tell us much. There are big differences between each region.
>>11265 Being Yuropoor also means there's no Camry, regardless of the Country I live in. But I agree there are wide differences between Countries, like UK and Ukraine aren't really the same.

Trucks Big trucks. They're so big, you can't see past them on the road. The drivers can't see out of them very well. They're ugly. They're oversized, and overweight, just like their owners. The people driving them are generally angry, and would probably drive aggressively if their vehicle could muster up the speed, but it's too bogged down by that big empty bed they never use. Why does anyone buy these things? They have crappy excuses for "back seats", if you can even call it that, considering it's a spongy bench with no seatbelts half the time. You have to climb up into them. They take up way too much space, and consume way too much gas, and they can't go fast because they're weighed down. Everyone I've met who owns one talks about the "utility", but they never actually use the bed in the back. I've moved bigger, heavier things in a little convertible than these guys move in their giant trucks. I'll give people who need them for work, or actually use the back for something on a regular basis, a pass. After all, they're using trucks for what they were meant for. But if you live in a city, and you don't need these, you're a moron. Every person I've seen with a truck, who actually uses it for something, whether they be construction workers, gardeners, or any other kind of laborer who needs lots of tools or has to move heavy equipment around… they always buy a little truck. If the people who actually need to use a truck are buying a Tacoma instead of an F-150, then why is someone who doesn't even carry anything around with them buying the latter? Probably because they're an idiot.
>>11270 I agree with you for the most part but >Tacoma >significantly smaller than an F-150 You clearly don't know much about trucks. There are jobs that require larger trucks such as mining, tree removal, junkyard patrol and towing. Seriously, you try towing a fucking tree with a Tacoma. Last time I saw someone attempt it with an F150 their truck nearly got tipped over by the weight of the tree trunk and that wasn't even that big of a tree! Also, "construction" is a broad term and size truck needed varies depending on the different roles for each truck in a fleet. Still, in my experience of living in 3 different states I've found that 90 percent or more of people that own a midsize/large truck don't actually need a truck that big. It's the redneck/white trash equivalent of buying a luxury truck you can't afford, either as a status symbol or to make yourself feel better in contrast to your shitty life.
>>11270 >Why does anyone buy these things? The ones who don't use them for work usually buy them to boost their self esteem or to drive like a dick and use it as an excuse >but I couldn't see you because my truck is so big!
Any Civic, Accord, Integra from the 90s
Utter garbage
>>11270 You don't know much about trucks do you? I drive a truck that I generally use for hauling stuff around. However I can see just fine out of the cab. My truck is rather fast, it's not "bogged down." It goes from 0-60 in 5 seconds which is pretty good for a 2.5 ton vehicle…
>>11722 I'm not that guy, but I believe that if there's a kid crossing right in front of your truck, you can't see him.
(40.61 KB 700x525 escape.jpg)

>>11653 Why? Without the rice, two of those are good cars. >>11721 It's also the same as pic related.
>>11721 >>11772 I own and DD a 2009 Ford Escape. Can confirm it is the antithesis of a "driver's car". It's a car for middle income housewives with only one or two kids >can't have fun in back roads because of the ride height >can't offroad it either because FWD
>>6412 >>6577 What the fuck. I drive a Audi 80 B3 and it has broken in all these years twice. Once it was because i was a retard and hit the oilpan with a rock so it all leaked out, and second time was 5 years later when i noticed there is moss growing in the boot for whatever reason, and i had to remake everything there. Second most reliable thing right after soviet tractor, love them to every bolt. In pic you have a A4? Everything on B4-B5 and B6 platforms is inferior, can only agree Also you from burgerland? Maybe they are great to me because any spares are dirt cheap, everyone can fix them and everyone just hacks their computers right away to not have to deal with german shit. You can do that too if you have a decent car and computer guy around. Just disable some alert codes and live a long an happy life, because it realy likes to complain about everything. To add something to this thread, i loathe everything Seat has made since 90s. Every. Single. Vehicle. Toledo? Might as well not have a clutch at all, plus everything is plastic. Ibiza? Who are you kidding? That thing won't start below -10 degrees celsius and will flip while standing still on ice. Arosa? Blatant VW Polo ripoff. The Ateca thing that will come out in 2017? I bet it won't even have all wheel drive. And don't even get me started on Alhambra.
>>11789 >Seat might as well mention Skoka while you're at it.
>>6422 Oh man I bought one a few years back on a whim, had sub-20k on the clock and was a pit of oil leaks and build quality issues. Ended up forcing the dealer to buy it back. Also, engine underpowered to fuck.
>>6447 Pretty much any German sports sedan on a U.S. road. Most offensive are black cars. >why do blacks always cause problems? Audi, BMW, Mercedes and even VWs tend to have some idea that they can weave in traffic without signaling or drive faster than the regular traffic flow. Don't get me wrong, I like to drive fast, but I won't zip in rush-hour traffic. >A.M. traffic: tired/hungover drivers catching up on texts/phone calls >P.M. traffic: Tired/buzzed drivers generating/catching up on texts/phone calls Even if these assholes are not involved in an accident, their irresponsible driving can cause accidents that tie up traffic for hours. >one bad swerve causes an exponential series of other minor accidents I'm always surprised to see the occasional $50K+ vehicle that either has working signals or uses them properly.

>>11960 >Caring about status symbols Do you suck cock?
>>11967 Nah, it looks ugly and it is a poorman's audi, face it. Status is good if you want to be something else than a closet engineer.
>>11968 So you do suck dick.
>>11968 I though we were rating cars in this thread, not their owners. Not everyone gets to drive their dream cars, and not always someones dream car is everyone else's dream car. There are enough unpopular cars around for everyone to fall in love with. >>11959 I like what they tried to do with it. It's a mumb-jumbo between sedan and coupe, but just enough so both your mom and friends can agree it is ok. Though good luck finding many things in engine bay with Seat branding on them. Though from what i speculate about it, tell me more of following things: >Do they start in -25 with no problem? Do they have that great battery and starter? Because i swear to god every morning someone in my neighbourhood is standing in driveway waving a pair of jumper cables hoping for help, but no Seat owners have done that. Mysterious, or diesel Seats are rare. >handling How goes the ability to ruin your wheel arches with oversteering by default? Also isn't steering amplifier a bit TOO light? I know most old Seat owners turn their wheel only with fingertips like swathing flies. On a side note, they have good electronics.
>>11973 >I though we were rating cars in this thread, not their owners I'm not rating the owner. The Cordoba is shit looking, regardless of the owner. >>11970 show me your hideous car then, please.
>>11973 >Do they start in -25 with no problem? Do they have that great battery and starter? Mine ate its first starter after 150000km, but starting problems in cold weather tend to be battery related, right? I bet they had old batteries with voltage creep or they bought old, dirt cheap Seats with their great (Audi) fuel economy and never bothered to change the battery after the recommended 3-4 years. >How goes the ability to ruin your wheel arches with oversteering by default? It's only really prone to liftoff oversteering, but that's to be expected with a soft front. My 2015 Polo likes to lift its ass, too, but it's not as bad. Other than that it was really stable, even at high speeds. If I'm talking improved handling I'm talking 15mm lower on a 200€ kit. The Cordoba basically was a Polo coupé, so the handling characteristics are very similar. >Also isn't steering amplifier a bit TOO light? On the contrary, after 150000km the steering pump was a little arthritic, so it was just right. Very light steering was introduced in later models, and electromechanic steering usually becomes stiffer the faster you go. One thing which was really bad in the 97 Cordoba was bodyrot. My rear wheel arches looked like shit, you really need to stay behind that rust, but that's about the only real issue I can think of. Perhaps I was lucky, but there was another Cordoba (Vario) with 250000km in my family and that one also only had a few cheap problems. Once, the pipe going into the turbo cracked and had to be welded for 50€ or something like that, the other time an exhaust brace came loose and vibrated like a madman, making the car sound like a jackhammer.

>>12032 Amerishit is Amerishit. Most decent cars Ford has produced (especially in the last 10-20 years) have either come from their euro team or from Mazda, and most of their new stuff is shit regardless of where it came from (maybe because they don't have Mazda anymore?).
>>12040 This. Mazda and Ford was a beautiful partnership; Easy to find parts, simple yet effective engineering, cross-compatible parts, etc. if fucking Ford hadn't sold their Mazda shares we might still have the Protege series. I'll never forgive them
>>12041 >partnership I don't know if I would call it that. Ford owned them. >Protege That died before Ford sold their shares IIRC, which likely means Ford were the ones who ordered the change. So really you should be blaming them for that.
>>12042 It wasn't technically a partnership, but I see it as having been mutually beneficial. And you're right, the Protege stopped in 03, Ford sold their share in 08. I'm just asshurt that the Protege5 and Mazdaspeed Protege got such a short run. The 3 doesn't quite compare IMO.
>>12043 >but I see it as having been mutually beneficial I suppose so, except when stupid things like the Tribute happened, and killing the Protege. >The 3 doesn't quite compare IMO. I agree. The Ford one (first generation) was a Focus underneath afaik. Not bad, but not great either. The new one is a different kind of car.
Holy shit this thread is ancient. >>11019 >Power >Cheap >Light You can only pick 2 and there is literally no car out there that breaks this rule. You could put a V6 in one of those and it would still weigh less than the 86, and have more power. You could do the same to an NA/NB for way cheaper than $26k. Even used, the cheapest FR-S I can find is $17k. >It's the only car that's built with drift day in mind. What's that supposed to mean? >It's the only car that can take a corner with style You mean it's the only good looking, capable sports car in existence right now?
>>12082 Won't putting a v6 in a Miata ruin its 50/50 distribution?
>>12165 It definitely wouldn't be 50/50 anymore, but it wouldn't be far off depending on what V6 you put in. It would probably end up like 52/48 or something like that, maybe even less if it was a small displacement. Tons of people have done swaps and they still drive great, even with a V8.

>Cube Cars >Oversized Trucks >Minivans >Giant SUVs Roads would be a better place if all of the people buying these willingly were removed.
>>14313 The entire midsize division needs a complete overhaul on an international scale: >Need to transport a group of people and occasionally large luggage while still being able to fit inside a standard garage? Kei vans worked perfectly fine in the 80s, there's absolutely no reason as to why they won't now other than safety standards >Live in an awkward spot, out in the sticks or a place that has particularly bad winters? Only the best, proper 4x4s with actual muscle behind them would continue to be sold. Landcruisers, Wranglers, Pajeros, Nivas, G-Wagens as they were made back in the 80s, Defenders put back into production and Range Rovers once sent back to their farmland roots would be among your available options. >Need something with some offroad ability, but also the versatility of a van, dirt cheap and as durable as a motherfucker, not to mention new? Get a compact truck, with marques like Toyota and Ford supplying true successors to models such as the Hilux and Ranger, not the fattened up overstuffed fragile "crew cab" widebody duallies they sell in their place nowadays. >Want to be a wasteful, tasteless spic or nigger? Do what your parents did in the 90s and get a cheap malaise-era pseudo muscle coupe like the Aero Monte Carlo, Thunderbird Turbo or L-Body Dodge. Keep your filthy subhuman hands away from the "six-deuces/treys/fo's", there's more than enough that have been ruined over the years.
>>14317 >international scale Then you shouldn't forget the small cars made for city strolling. The small cars are now, ironically, getting bigger and bigger, with more and more ugly crossovers with no practical use (Nissan Juke, Toyota CH-R, Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Dodge Caliber, BMW X1, Mercedes GLA etc…). They are just a merging between SUVs and city small cars. That category should be nuked for new small cars made to be driven in the city, like the old Peugeot 106, 1st gen Renault Clio, first gen Fiat Panda, all japanese kei cars or even, plymouth Horizon or Renault 5 ( Le Car in the US). The everyday "small" hatchbacks that are sold today are even too big for small hostorical streets, a 2017 Toyota Yaris, or same year Renault Clio are way too big compared to their uses, thanks to all the new safety laws and tasteless design choices. Also, midsize hatchbacks are getting so big they look like regular breaks nowadays (a Honda fit looks like a van and a Honda Civic is finally a regular sedan) and people don't buy family vans anymore because it's not cool anymore, choosing large crossovers (or SUVs if the buyers wallet allows it) like the infamous Nissan Qashqai or Rogue or the defunct Dodge Nitro. Make family vans great again.
>>14313 >cube cars Fucking stupid, unless offroaders >oversized trucks If it carries a lot of stuff, it can be any size it goddamn pleases to be. >minivans World needs them. How else would that one heroic father would carry around his family consiting of wife and 4 beautifull children? >giant SUVs Mixed bag here. If they can offroad, let them serve as family minivans for people living in bumfuck nowhere. If a local nigger drives one, fucking shoot the shiny bling wheels on first sight.

>>14323 For context, I live in one of the most sub/urban place possible. There is no "I go offroading" excuse except for people who have it as an explicit hobby and are willing to drive hours out to do it. >useless unless offroaders I'm not sure cube cars have the power to offroad. My friend bought a Honda Element and it's just absolute trash. Inside is cheap plastic and feels unfinished/barren. Its atmosphere is reminiscent of the forgotten, crumb-encrusted hallways in the back of a sports stadium, except those have concrete so they feel more solid. >if it carries stuff Only the Mexicans and contractors need big trucks. You can identify them because the back is always loaded up, they usually spring for lockable storage containers, and even the ones who load them down never go for something huge like an F250 when they could get away with a mid-sized truck. Most of the gardeners just run with older or smaller trucks and then toss their tools in the back. The people driving the really big ones are people who "need to move furniture occasionally", and it's only because they're "that friend with the truck I can call when I need to move stuff". >World needs them But it's only old Vietnamese men driving them. I'm not sure why they find them so appealing but they can't get enough of crappy 90's minivans. Never see them with any family or carrying much. Nobody has a perfect family, and no man would be caught dead driving a minivan. It's exclusively for older Vietnamese men or single moms who want to be able to toss stuff way in the back and not have to clean it for years at a time. >If they can offroad Still tremendously wasteful, oversized vehicles for that purpose. The only reason to buy one of those is if you're incredibly rich and can get escorted/driven places and want an overly-large place to hang out during drives. Politicians ride in them for a reason but basically nobody else needs one. Even then, it's a ridiculous luxury thing. These things are all worse than their alternatives at what they do and are almost exclusively driven by people who want to project an image but end up looking like massive tools.

>>6385 So this post was made in 2015. Has anyone else noticed that all the PT Cruisers disappeared from the roads since then? I clearly remember driving home from work one day in 2016 and seeing not one, not two, but three PT Cruisers abandoned on the side of the road (orange stickered, basically ditched until the owner can afford a tow). My commute is just ~15 miles too. It's like Chrysler engineered a kill switch into the car that is triggered once the car reaches 10 years old. I can't tell you the last time I saw one on the road which is crazy because they sold over a million (1.35m to be exact) of these shitcrates and I live in a rust-free sunbelt state.
>>14584 They are probably getting high in mileage, and as a Chrysler are expensive to fix, so the poor people driving them because no one else wants them don't have money to fix them.
>>14584 Eurofag here, I still see them nearly everyday even if they're pretty rare around here. People who bought them at first seem to keep them in pristine state.

>>16291 It's amazing how ignorant I am about US cars being sold outside the US. Coopers are fine I guess, but the interior is pretty ugly. On the topic of both small cars and ugly cars: The Fiat 500
>>16298 The interior would look fine to me for the 2015 if it wasn't for the cheap plastic in certain places, flip switchesunless they made an audible CLICK then it would be the best that just screams "AM DIFFERENT!", and how cramped it is on the drivers side, I like it. I also hate how much of a pain it is to engage the emergency brake since the middle compartment practically blocks your damn arm. You have to pull it at a very weird angle.
>>16291 Just make sure she has the timing chain guides, tensioner, and the chain itself, replaced every 50-80k miles. If it falls out of time, the engine WILL become a paperweight. The only reason this isn't an issue with the Naturally Aspirated model, is because the engine never exceeds spec. The S pretty much always runs at revs that would be more at home with some nipshit, like a Civic. That motor was never meant to be pushed so hard, but none of that would be a problem if the Frogs who designed it simply used better materials.
>>16318 Oh, and I forgot to add two things; 1. There is no warning when the timing chain tensioner fails. You won't see a Check Engine light, or any OBDII code for it, it'll just happen. 2. There was never any reason for this car to be turbocharged in the first place. A wider exhaust manifold, and an intake kit is literally enough for the N/A model to rival the power of the S. The N/A exhaust manifold's output-side port is about as wide around as a golfball. The Magnaflow header, roughly the size of a grapefruit. I believe this was done deliberately by BMW to create an artificial gap in power between the Base and S models.
