Female muscle car drivers Anonymous 11/09/2015 (Mon) 03:22:16 Id: 3f59b6 No. 7115
I don't get it, /o/. Two out of every three muscle car drivers I see are women. This makes no sense on multiple levels: >Women don't typically find enjoyment in driving the same way men do and would have less reason to drive a high-performance car >Women don't typically have the high-paying jobs required to afford cars like that >Fun cars are the first things that married women make their husbands give up, so a male owner is unlikely I don't understand it. How/why are there so many? How long until the big push to make car culture a "safe space for women"?
>>7115 >How/why are there so many? because exactly like poser men, they buy base V6 versions of muscle cars for image
>How long until the big push to make car culture a "safe space for women"? Ages ago. In the 90s the first cars whose SECONDARY objective was a driver's car such as the Honda SM-X were released. Then you have the development of the Ford Explorer which was actually designed for women. The USA has become a pain in the ass for this bullshit in particular, but what would you expect, with California being the global hub of social justice and all? A significantly larger proportion of people drive automatic there from what I've heard. They are also by far the ones kicking up the most stink regarding Volkswagen, partially because they're the only ones still clinging onto the "muh nazis" argument which every other country matured out of decades ago. Really, I think it's high time Volkswagen just plain packed out of there like all the other big European brands did in the mid 20th century. Thin the choice out to American or Japanese. I'm not defending what they did but no-one gave a shit when GM, Ford or Chrysler did stuff twice as dastardly as VW did.
>spoiler It's already happened anon. >reversal cameras >parking sensors >auto parking modes >traction control >passenger airbags >lane sensors >heated seats >brake assist >vanity mirrors in sun visors >crossovers >regular maintenance schedules None of this is there to make men feel safer. Not to mention muh safer drivers media campaign and more competitive insurance rates. Seven out of ten times traffic is being held up at the lights, it will be a woman looking at her phone that's responsible.

>>7122 >Parking sensors >passenger airbags >bad See this thing? It's a tree. Trees are awesome. You can crash into a grown up one and it won't care much. See that metal guard? You can't see it when backing up into a parking lot between two of these trees, and I know muscle cars have even worse back visibility than my hatchback. These guards fuck up your bumper.

I (a man) dislike driving and I'm only interested in automotive because I enjoy fixing things. My cousin (a woman) finds driving to be a highly enjoyable pass time and drags me off on late night trips once a month or so. She prefers SUVs to muscle cars because better performance in bad conditions and being higher up. why are you tring to engender a gender norm about the enjoyment of driving?
Women buy suv's Where are your stats?
>>7138 Stats? Right here: >>7135
>>7142 Statistics that say women are now getting into cars n shit. Like muscle cars
>>7147 Define "getting into". Just because they're buying them it doesn't mean they're "into" cars. Just because I buy a gun it doesn't mean I'm "into" guns. I would have no idea how to clean, dissasemble or service the damn thing. good think I had a trusty robust Russian gun that could deal with it
>>7148 >not cleaning your guns fucking triggered It's really not hard though. There are plenty of videos on youtube, as well as miscellaneous websites that can tell you how to clean your gun and what products are good. Also, >>>/k/
> How/why are there so many? before my mother had me she got the cars my uncles got bored of working on, so she always had some nutty built up mustang, transam or impala. maybe they bought them from family, or have a family of gear heads.
>>7155 I do clean my guns, but I was kinda clueless starting off. If i owned any AR variant, I would be royally fucked.

daddy's money and MUH STATUS SYMBOL
>>7199 this may be true, but its still extremely ironic when the vast majority of women buy V6 base models and consider them a status symbol
>>7115 Perhaps the same can be said about videogames nowadays.
>>7205 >Prehaps the same can be said about videogames >videogames >oh man! I didn't know you got Fallout 4, too! >uh, yeah. Shelled out quite a bit. >Nice. You got the game of the year addition, right? >uh….no…. >lol no power shit boxart ps4 last generation

>>7233 So I'm not alone.

>My dad painted cars for spare money, had different custom trucks and all that jazz as a wee lad to young adult >gets remarried to someone who drives an automatic santa fe >My dad had a focus svt at the time >They agree to get new cars >step mom get a new 2009 camaro >dad gets an 02 mini >dad takes care of both cars >step mom complains about driving a manual in rush hour >dad cleans and takes care of both cars >step mom doesn't like other people driving her car >dad cleans maintains modifies and takes care of both cars >the cycle goes on the mustang is sold for an automatic 2015 fiesta >my dad still doesn't have a car he deserves

>>7309 >Live in a large family >Dad is the mechanic >He only buys used cars to save money >Constantly fixing cars out of necessity but you can also tell he enjoys it, and is really knowledgeable about cars in general >He's never really had a nice car in his life >tfw no vintage restoration project to do with him
>>7201 they dont expect anybody to know better
>>7115 They're driving their rich boyfriend's cars and trucks for the most part.
Well, they buy the four cylinder variants of the challenger, mustang, camaro, etc.
>>14921 Thank fuck, think at all the damage a roastie could cause with a GT350.
